Seems like months since I last started a topic, so seeing as it's my birthday today I thought I'd treat myself
I'm seriously considering backing Ghana against Brazil. I'm not convinced that the holders have what it takes to retain their crown...too many ageing stars with their best years behind them, many of whom have had mediocre seasons and all too reliant on goals from Ronaldo / Adriano or a bit of magic from Ronaldinho, with the only game they've turned it on being against Japan.
I've been impressed with the physical strength and athleticism Ghana displayed in their games against the USA and Czech Republic, and I've got a feeling that even without Essien they could push Brazil to extra time...and then anything could happen. Also, there still has to be a major shock in this year's tournament and I think this game represents the best chance of this happening.
My main stake will be going on Ghana AH +0.5 @ 3.5 plus + 2.5, +3.0 Goals @ 1.95 with small stakes on Ghana ht / Ghana ft @ 25/1 and Draw ht / Ghana ft @ 28/1...you simply cannot ignore those odds in a two horse race! _________________ FAC51 The Hacienda...back in the day, it's where it all started |

Thought I,d be one of the few taking Ghana on the AH, but pleased to see we've all got the same idea.
No Essien, but at the African nations Ghana missed afew players and still looked tough to break down. Brazil maybe better then the sides Ghana faced then, but lets hope for a ref that does'nt pick up on every challenge and the Black stars may just have a chance.

Yes Ghana on the AH looks good to me. I did hesitate because Essien was out but I see Brazil will be without Robinho who I think has been Brazils best player
For a competetive game 1.5 seems like a big AH - Im sure Brazil would hapily take a 1 goal margin of victory, and thats assuming they are in control of the game which is by no means a given |

IM SORRY but im gonna have to disagree.
i think brazil are gonna be coming out of the blocks flying and could cruise this, they showed how good they can be in the 2nd half of the japan game, shame "god" isnt playing, sorry robinho, however, at 1/4 there isnt any value in backing the reigning and future (2006) world cup winners.
i might do a couple of small stakes scorecasts, ronaldo 2-0, 3-0, 4-0.
i also fancy spain tonight, france seem very average at present.
spain win (single)
spain/brazil (double)
scorecasts mentioned above.
good luck |

Brazil v Ghana - AH Brazil (-1.5)
can my favourite sausage-boy score today? i am banking on it! have to agree with Dave... so i see 2 camps here... Brazil is going to show their prowess, as did the Germans. Ghana's Essien not playing (if i am not wrong), anyone else that can pick up the slack? Make mine Brazil today! _________________ what do i know anyway?? |

no essien for ghana and i expect this to be walkover for brazil.....
i really fancy the over 2.5 goals and the odds for it very good too. 1.7 which is fab.
Lets hope it better game today than it was yesterday, aussies was robbed and the nite game was drab and boring.
Spain and france it too close to call it but fancy with spain and the best bets for me is FGS. Get torres to score the 1st goal @4 which is fab...... |

glad to have greenlantern and n1b in my camp
might have a cheeky double on ronaldo(7/2) / torres(5/1) first goal.
if you fancy torres n1b, get on at BlueSq.com, 5/1 torres, prices correct as of midday. |

Brazil v Ghana
I can't see past Brazil having an easy Win here. I was impressed with the strength of Ghana and had them to beat the USA which they did, but Brazil are a class above the USA and have been improving with every game. WIll definitely miss the Ghanians as they have added some spice to this WC.
Brazil @ 1.25 for me.
Spain v France.
France were lucky to qualify and have not been prolific goal scorers. Will be a close run thing, unders may be worth investigating? I will be going on the AH.
SPAIN (0,-0.5) @ 2.05 for me. |

also another thing added to this spain vs france game..
zidane is back for france and that does not bode well for henry as u know he score well without zidane.....
When zidane play, henry doesnt score.
so get on spain to qualify cos if u get it at full time then u miss out if it goes to extra time which is unlikey.... |

Brazil should win but I can't see it being a landslide. As Antony said Robinho has been their best player and without him they are not as good a side IMO.
Ghana will miss Essien too but I've been impressed with their organisation and commitment and if they can get to half time without conceding they are in with a great chance. Evens for AH +1.5 is too tempting for me as the Brazil win by the odd goal is a real possibility.
Spain should beat France too and evens for AH -0.25 looks the bet just in case the French actually turn up or Spain do their usual bottling act.
So 4.0 on the double looks good to me. _________________ Join the best FREE football management game at www.xperteleven.com The OLBG league 4th season will start in a few weeks! 51 teams and counting. PM me for more info or check the thread.
