Well done to the players who got us through the game from 60 minutes onwards. They deserved all the plaudits tonight, but at the end of the day they've been let down by one player and even more so a manager who let the nation down months ago. The decision to take 4 strikers back fired spectacularly in the tournament and was the root of the problems we faced tonight. Imagine being so short of strikers but refusing to use our 'secret' weapon in Walcott Laughing I'll be glad to see the back of him. He's wasted the talent we have on offer in this country and blown the best chance we have had for years to win this thing.

PS Think Brazil(if they get there) will 50million English fans on their side Wednesday night.

Crying or Very sad

I think Ronaldo's probably sealing his deal to Real Madrid....but Rooney, whyyyyyyy. The stamp didn't seem intentional, it was Ronaldo's intervention that sparked him off Mad

How do we find a way to lose every time. Lampard didn't surprise me with his miss, he was never going to score this WC, but Gerrard has done it in a CL final. Just cannot fathom that it happened AGAIN Lose

I dont normally post but what was Ericsson thinking and Ronaldo knew what he was doing from the off with Rooney.
The game has slipped to a new level, they come on speaking about racism and fair play then put up a display that is far from sporting and Ronaldo winking as rooney was sent off is nothing short of discraceful.
Fans of football should petition to stop the diving and disgraceful behaviour of the players who in my opion should be like teachers and set an example.
I am not bitter but GO ON BRAZIL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

After England's defeat, had been looking to Brazil to at least keep my ante post interest going.

It was not to be but I thought the game was an absolute joy to behold with two teams playing the right way, and France delivering the best team performance of the competition so far.

Zidane rolled back the years and proved what a top player he is. Cristiano Ronaldo should look at that performance to see how an all time great conducts himself on the pitch.

I had written off France before the start of the tournament, but they are starting to remind me of the Italy side which won it in 1982. Really slow start, pretty awful in the group but suddenly one performance (Italy's was against Brazil, France's was against Spain) and everything clicks into place.

Hopefully they can reproduce this against Portugal in the semi-final and prove that class is permanent.

I'm still fuming with Portugal... i predicted that they would resort to such tactics and they did... Still, i have to say that Rooney should have known better, but what he did was human... just unlucky that the ref sent him off. I would be very angry if a fellow teammate tried to influence the ref to send me off too... in fact, I probably wouldn't be on speaking terms with that teammate after this.. but that's just me.

sorry guys. to loose at at a penalty shootout is always bad but in england they find always a reason. every time the others are guilty . that is not fair play. i hoped that england goes forward to the final against our team for a great game in our country but this does not happen. but please: dont look for other reasons for the loss. your stars are always afraid of a penalty shootout. that´s it.

greets

Portugal dont deserve to go through. They were poor untill the sending off.Rooney should never have been sent off for stamping and should have been given only a yellow (if that) for the slight push on Ronaldo.England should have been given 2 penalties but the referee ignored both.I actually hope Ronaldo leaves Manu now and Rooney plants one on him on his way out. Win cheat!

Well Done England!!!!!!!!! Win

£20 Hargreves MOTM @ 26
Surprising to some, and I don't like the player - but it's too high to miss. Fifa has been giving MOTMs to about 85% midfielders and then it is mainly the defensive mids getting it - Viera, Ze reberto, Gatusso etc. Surely if England win then Hargreves may be good bet as he's broken it up and been solid all game!

COME ON!!!!!!!!!!!!!
£520 in the bank, makes up for the rubbish penalties 1st
