It's the Argies for me... i think both teams have a decent chance, so I will always pick the team with the stronger defence and that's Argentina. With the AH level at +0.25 for them, it's a no-brainer for me in terms of a value bet.
my tip is Argie AH+0.25 @ 1.825 |

I've now realised why Germany don't win many corners, which may be of benefit for betting in future matches, if they win.
Instead of getting to the byline and crossing, or pulling it back (which is what Argentina do, and how they've won their corners thus far) Germany cross it in so any deflection off a defender takes the ball away from goal and not out for a corner.
If they crossed from the byline more often they'd win more corners and then have a better chance of scoring.
Due to this and the fact most of the match is being played in the centre of the pitch i've decided my tip was a poor one and i've taken Unders on the In-Running market to cover my loss and give profit. |

i reckon the argie manager could have blown his chances on a semi final spot, dont no what he was thinking, obviously it was done and dusted in his eyes, same exactly in the england game, they took the main men off then crumbled, lets hope not, curious decisions tho _________________ Challenge Winners for Season

You were 100% right but give credit to Klinsmanns subs. Odonkor made a big difference and Borowski looked lively but the subs Pekerman made and the attitude of the Argentinian players after they scored was something similar to what happens in England games, they surrendered the advantage and allowed Germany back into the game.
I was fairly neutral in the pens but after the disgraceful showing of Argentina im gald Germany won. Disgraceful showing from players who should know better. _________________ Royal Ascot Comp 2007 #3, Aintree Comp 2008 #1

Nice to see Argentina accept defeat with their usual good grace
Their manager made some shocking decisions which probably lost them the match - it is an absolute sin to have quality players on the bench like Messi and Aimar, and not use them.
This game did prove one thing - don't take Germany to penalties. _________________ Confidence in tips ranges from the most confident which is 5 stars to least which is 1.

Have to laugh.
As soon as it went to penalties, I chucked $500 on the Germans to get through. As soon as I sat back down, the commentator mentioned how penalties were a 50-50 shootout and basically pure chance.
Great Analysis there mate!
Why did I put good money on Germany then if it was only a 50-50 chance? Probably because this whole 50-50 penalty belief is a complete fallacy. How does 50-50 chance explain Germany's record in penalty shootouts?
Professional Football Players should score 9/10 penalties, and that is by blasting it with strength into one of the corners, preferably one of the top corners. It always amazes me when they dolly it down the middle and it gets saved. Very poor and given you're paid to kick these things, really a dereliction of duty - but then again, it still happens.
Funny thing is, given it is 50-50 in penalties (As everyone keeps saying), if England got to the final against Germany and it went to penalties - funnily enough I'd back the Germans and take my chances. Seeing Crouch standing over a penalty would be enough to make me cringe to be honest. |

stubble dont take the germans to pens
TF you mis-read my post, infact i have not wordied it that great, i meant the game against argentina and england, when the argies thought the game was done, they took the same type of players off and england beat them 3-2 after being 2-1 up when the subbies were made, a tired tevez for the 1/2 hour extra time, no ball players in the midfield for the argies and as you say the players that came on for the germans were up for the cup, think mr rodriguez will be up for some kind of charge, maybe assault, couldn't beleive it, he must have ran about 20 yards then threw a punch, was like a girls punch but still, be interesting to see what happens, think mr pekerman could be fore the CHOP _________________ Challenge Winners for Season

Mr Pekerman for the chop.
Sends shivers down every males spine.
Maybe if Pekerman had any balls he would have brought Messi on? _________________ Royal Ascot Comp 2007 #3, Aintree Comp 2008 #1

I think it will be G and like most games at this stage there won't be much in it. If you think like me that Italy will win but the odds for winning are bit short Bet365 are offering 3.2 on Italy winning by a single goal. Can be 1-0, 2-1, 3-2 etc.) Thats where my money lies tonight.
