Germany v Portugal Final

Anyone agree with this? I think Portugal are a smashing price to win the Cup at the moment actually.

About time a new country won it.

I tipped Portugal at the start, but having seen the respective quarter-finals I cannot see them getting past France. Portugal laboured to beat the ten men of England, whereas France put in the best performance of the tournament to date by beating Brazil. The French defensive structure of a quality back four protected by defensive midfielders Vieira and Makelele is proving virtually inpenetrable, plus they have plenty of quality in attack.

Italy will win. I've got blind faith in them now that England are out. Backed them at 14's 3months ago and still think they'[ve got the team to do it. Smile

might be stating the obvious but all 4 teams have their reasons for being in the final.

Germany- hosts and always there or thereabouts
Italy- fate, 12 years cycle, deflecting of attention from match fixing scandal in Serie A.
France- last fling for Golden Oldies, legend Zidane's final show.
Portugal- 1st time winner in the making, payback time for spectacularly losing at home to Greece in Euro 2004.

This is a good time to scale down on my bets, or i'll give my profits all back to the bookies again.

No question of which team i'll pick if it's a Germany v Portugal final.
90% Portugal.
