Pleased to see Portugal lose tonight - their diving and general conduct were disgraceful and there should be no place for it in a World Cup final.

Will be cheering on Germany in the third place play off, because at least they've tried to play the game in the right way.

I thought the ref was poor in disciplining the players... He should have shown the divers a yellow card. There are many times when it was a clear dive and he waved play on and didn't punish the player. That's not good for football too.... players are only human.. if they can get away with it, it only encourages them.

That is the sorry state of Football im afraid Aye.

We created this glorious game yet we have surrendered it to a bunch of foreign over paid and corrupt ex-lawyers and doctors. You cant now tackle anyone without being booked (Saha tackle is an example) but you can Cheat as much as you like and get away with it. Mad

agree absolutely regarding ronaldo and co, the prancing and simulation was pathetic, they should be embarassed. glad to see zidane going out of football in style, top player for this generation with a supercool penalty that sums him up. as regards the final i think neither deserves to lose, id hate to see zidane with a losers medal but the italians have played the game how it should be played aswell. echoing the thoughts above i hope the germans paste the portugese for third place to give them something else to be embarassed about (not sour grapes but just deserts) Laughing

What I don't understand is that the portugese players are only are allowed to play under Scolari because they play with heart and passion.

Just think, if Scolari were England manager we would be playing backwards and sidways aswell as diving and claiming for penalties everytime our players went down.............

Nooooooo.......we have Mcclown instead.........can't wait for the tabloid head lines, especially if Boro are anything to go by!!!!

i am glad that france showed portugal how to dive properly!!!!

i think the diving is becoming a big issue now and it need to be eradicted as soon as possible....

i noticed something last nite....the crowds was booing at ronaldo everytime he got the ball and it right of them to boo at him as i think he is one of the worst divers i have ever seen..... like just pass the ball little bit then bang into the opposition backs/bodies and then just fall backwards even with slightest contact.....

i think it shame that the diving had to come in now like last night and the last couple of games like

italy vs aussies
portugal vs france (henry diving for penalty)

and i am sure that there is many more games in this touranment....
