HI GUYS N GALS!
IM NEW TO THIS SO BE GENTLE.
JUST HAD A FEW NOVICE QUERIES ABOUT THE BETTING OVER 1.5 GOALS
I BACKED A TEAM AT £50@ 1.5 AND BACKED 0-0 WITH £5 @ 10.5 AND AFTER 31 MINS THERE WAS A GOAL SO WENT TO Lay BUT PRICE WAS AT 1.35 WHAT SHOULD I DO IN THIS SITUATION? I JUST TRADED MY WAY OUT WITH A LITTLE LOSS ON MY DRAW BET. LIKE I SAID I AM A NOVICE, MAYBE I SHOULD OF STUDIED IT A LITTLE MORE BEFORE DIPPING IN? I KNOW THE THREAD IS GETTING LONG IN THE TOOTH BUT COULD ANYONE HELP ME OUT ABIT?

That doesn't seem like a very good price! I would have thought it would drop lower than that with 2/3 of the game to score one more goal.
How long after the goal was the price at 1.35? You need to let the market settle (I'm assuming you're on Betfair?) for a minute or two after a goal and act then. The overs prices will increase as time goes by.
Sometimes, if you're brave, you can get a good trade by laying the overs price immediately after a goal and back out 10 mins or so later. Personally I would only do this on a game I can watch or at least listen to so you get an idea of how likely another goal is. |
