I would really appreciate any advice.... I'm not very experienced so this might appear to be a stupid question. For about a year, I've ran a cover to win system, where I'll have a profit margin per race, say £10. If the horse loses, I then up the next stake to get my stake monies back, plus 2 x £10 profit. This continues until I get a win. In other words, if five horses lose, I'll make £60 profit on the sixth bet....but I'll have staked about £500 to earn it! My question is this....I never bet odds on because this will run down my betting back too quickly. Does anyone have any advice on what criteria I should apply when I,m looking for short priced winners without any interest in "value".
I know most people will say this system is mad, because wnen you hit a losing run of about 14, it will wipe out your bank. I've found that if you pick a horse with the highest rpr & most tips, you get a win on average every six bets. Someone out there must have experience(probably bad!) of this. |

I have some adivice.
Donot continue with your current staking plan, you willsoon find yourself sleeping in cardboard boxes at the nearest underpass. You are playing a variation of the the Martingayle system whichis the short route to the poor house
Secondly. "Advice on finding short price winners?"
That staking plan coupled with your question on finding short priced winners means that you will find yourself destitute in double quick time.
The idea is to fins winners that offer value, not short piced runners that offer a "way back"..
Please have a good look through everything on this forum, as i feel you can learn much. There is a huge amount of advice that i am asure will help you avoid disaster, which is what you are heading for reading your post.
No offence is meant in this reply, simply genuine concern from someone who has been there. Good Luck and welcome to the forum and your safe haven _________________ 12 Months Horse Racing Blogs

I run a tipster service where mainly my selections are between odds on and 11/4 with maybe 2 or three bets per day and 1 Lay, i use a strategic staking system because due to my selection criteria long losing runs very rarely occur. I also charge £1 a week and this is for my time selecting these horse as probably unlike the many tipsters out there i actually bet on my selections. _________________ Betting systems reviewed- check my site! |
