I haven't been able to look at many races today, but I will put down whatever I was able to find in terms of bets today. This is for testing purposes only, so please do not back them!
1430 Sth: Rebel Duke @ 6.2 (1 point)
1525 Folk: Tiger's Rocket @ 3.85 (1 point)
1550 Wet: The Wooden Spoon @ 4.3 (2 points)
1625 Wet: King Jack @ 1.4 (1 point) *Value Bet: La Pantera Rosa @ 11*
As you can see, all 4 won, although the value bet didn't come in (it doesn't very often). A complete turn of events from yesterday, and at that, quite heartening. Although after losing a bit yesterday, I decided not to place any bets today and am regretting it. Still, precaution is good I guess. Just feel like I have lost some moolah even though I haven't! _________________ Numbers and me, Its a love-hate relationship. I love them, they hate me! |

I won't be around tomorrow btw, so won't be able to test this then. Hopefully would have a few more races to look on Thursday though! _________________ Numbers and me, Its a love-hate relationship. I love them, they hate me! |

Really interesting read Prince. Its good to see that you've put a lot of detail in researching so in depth. I also liked the way you emphasised the importance of trying to control as many of the variables that you can and have been selective on the race's that you've picked to analyze from. I think you're heading in the right direction and I hope it keeps throwing up winners for you. No system is guaranteed to work everytime so dont let it put you off when you do have a loser. |

Cheers Wizard, appreciate your kind words. I think this is an interesting system with a few possible flaws (Jockey and trainer form have been omitted, for example). But so far the results have been (slightly) convincing. A set of extensive samples is definitely required, and I just hope that I have the time and the patience to do so.
I do however really think that controlling the variables is a very important part of all this, because otherwise, some important details can be missed out, leading to bad predictions. But yea, I hope the results stay on the higher side, and hopefully, this system can work, somehow! _________________ Numbers and me, Its a love-hate relationship. I love them, they hate me! |

At present, I am quite busy, esp with Final year exams coming up. Hence, there won't be many selections, and sometimes even none. I apologise for the non-continuous stream of selection since it would be affecting the sample size and hence good analysis. Anyways, I have looked at 4 races today (not great odds, but this is sort of rushed job):
1455 Tau: Leading Attraction @ 1.58 (4 points)
1605 Tau: Wiscalitus @ 3.5 (1 point)
1715 Tau: Shepherd's Hut @ 2.44 (2 points)
Another race, the 1555 Leicester was considered, but according to my calculations, the top 5 horses are too close to call, and I won't even consider putting a cent on this race. I have Segal as the potential winner, but other few horses look like an enticing option still.
Once again, I apologise in advance about the irregularities in posting up selections, but patience will be the key here, for both of us
Leading Attraction came 2nd today. Its funny because this is the 3rd time a selection with 4/5 points has failed to win at such low odds. I can't explain it, but well, he lost. Wiscalitus fell soon after starting today, so thats a bit unlucky I guess. A loss nevertheless.
Shepherd's Hut was a NR afaik. Still, bad day today, as another see-saw means that none of the two selections won today! _________________ Numbers and me, Its a love-hate relationship. I love them, they hate me! |

| No problem with your selection process but you will find it far easier & quicker AND more accurate to just read the form & subconciously use the ratings you assign in your system rather than laboriously key in all the ratings. |

Cheers Jeremiah! I think you are quite right. The process atm is quite long and tedious. I think I should try and narrow down choices by pure observation. More importantly due to current lack of time situation, just reading the form would be way better.
Can't do it today though, have to nip out to the library now. But as it stands, Alberta's Run placed..not a good result as such. Oh well. _________________ Numbers and me, Its a love-hate relationship. I love them, they hate me! |

Like Jeremiaah suggested, I managed to 'read' some race-cards today. Just to practice, I also ran some of the selections through the excel sheet, just to make sure that I was getting concurring results. Most of them were quite similar to those selected on paper, which is a good sign; it might make things quicker.
Well here they are:
1335 Ling: Competitor @ 4.3
1445 Ling: John Terry @ 4.1
1500 Chep: Something Wells @ 1.48
1605 Chep: Billesey @ 5.4
1720 Ling: Top Draw @ 4.8
As you might see, none of them carry confidence points atm, which might be an issue with oral calculation. I will try and run these through spread sheets to get a number, but for future reference, they might be difficult to come by (although for now, the confidence ratings are: 3, 1, 1, 2, 1 respectively).
Another bad day! Don't think a single one came in. A couple placed, I think. But overall, it was quite bad. I think I might be stopping this here, perhaps obtain a larger sample, run a blog to see how things go. Must admit though, the advice here was quite useful, and hopefully this form can be turned around.
Still, would appreciate if anyone has anything to say about the results (or lack of) from this 'system' so far.
(Good luck for GN everyone btw!) _________________ Numbers and me, Its a love-hate relationship. I love them, they hate me! |
