Talk about false advertising, its says open an account and deposit a tenner and stake a tenner to recieve a free £10 bet.
So I registed with them, deposited and place my £10 bet which lost (typical), but didnt recieve my free £10 bet so I went online and spoke to one of their operators who said that you only get a free £10 bet if your original bet is successfull? I then pointed out to here that is doesnt state that on the site, and sent her this link
http://www.SportingBet.com/t/promos/150-free-bet-challenge.aspx?affiliate=ia_com&pname=a_11835b_621c_3557
She then kept me waiting for 15 minutes before saying rather abruptly "Those are the rules, if you dont like it close your account"
Absolutely disgusting.
Anyone else had problems with them? |

I used to bet quite a lot with SportingBet under it's previous name SportingOdds. They often gave the best early prices around, their customer service was fantastic, and I actually won a digital camera in a free competition. All in all, I was very happy with their service.
However, since the takeover, they have deteriorated a great deal. I've made numerous complaints via e-mail, and have never had a response. Thier competitive early prices aren't as good as they were either. They also have a very irritating habit of publishing a price on the RP betting site, and when you click on the price, you have to be very careful to check it because it often comes up with a different price, and you get no warning.
A few weeks ago I placed a bet with them and put in the wrong price (I added a zero to the bet because my keyboard has a nasty habit of repeating characters). I didn't notice it until after the price was laid. Whilst accepting it was my own fault, I rang their customer service hours before the race was off, to ask them to change the bet. I was told their was no way the bet could be changed. I argued the case for quite a while with no joy, until I mentioned the name of the old accouny manager that I knew worked their. The mention of her name and asking to be transferred to her, made the difference and the bet was changed.
All in all, their customer service is complete rubbish, and I find it incredible that you cannot get your £10 free bet.
You may want to ring them again and ask to be transferred to an account manager like I did. Her name was Natalie Marques. It might do the trick ?? |

I was speaking to someone at work the other day about them who also had problems.
They said that once they lost a bet in the first 10 that SportingBet said that it now elimates him from the beat the bookie challenge where as it says on their website try again with another £10 bet.
I just told him not worth arguing, withdraw your money and go elsewhere as was in profit as did receive the free £10 bet and won with the free bet too.
I use them still but have had no problems although ive not tried withdrawing money yet and they have restircted stakes on one bet placed.
Hopefully not a problem when i withdraw as nice little nest egg building up at present.
I find their rugby lines very generous and at decent odds. Football odds on lower european leagues are also quite competetive/

What makes it worse is that a friend of mine did the same thing a few days earlier and got his free bet.
Just tried to log on and my account has now been closed |

Thanks To Chris Graham from SportingBet for his fast reply to this situation which is of great concern to him. Chris has been in touch with the customer service team at SportingBet and will do his best to make sure that the Customer services team understand the intricacies of this offer.
This is Chris's reply to the above...
Here is a brief synopsis of how the bet works:
1. Every customer who opens an account with us and places a £10 bet will receive a Free £10 Bet whether their selection has won or lost.
2. Customers are eligible to receive more Free £10 Bets after every winning bet of their own money they land within their first 10 bets with SportingBet. Betting with Free Bet money is not valid. So until a customer has placed 10 or more bets with us with their own money they are valid to continue in the Free Bet Challenge. If any of their opening 10 own-money £10 bets are winners they will receive a £10 Free Bet for their troubles.
3. If a customer manages to land 10 winning bets from their opening 10 own-money bets we will give them a £50 bonus on top of their £100 they would have accrued in Free Bets.
The crucial points here are:
* No one drops out of this promotion until after their 10th bet (of their own money)
* Every customer should receive a Free £10 bet after they stake their initial £10 bet
* If a customer gets all 10 of their own money £10 Bets correct they receive a £50 bonus.
Can I apoligise to anyone who has been misled by our Customer Service. I will make sure the communication channels are clearer in the future between departments.
If anyone has any other questions then please e-mail me at chris.graham@SportingBet.com
Macca - If you'd like to let me know your account details I can get the Free Bet to you.
Thanks
Chris Graham
