Hi having not been at school for 30 years am rubbish at percentages.can anyone show me an easy way to do them.so if i need to find what % 71 is of 109.thanks in advance

109 divide by 100 times 71?

71 divide by 109 = 0.6513........times by 100 = % 65.13

Thats wrong mate, the answer is 77.39

Do we have the question right?

What % is 71 of 109.

Which means:

(71/109) * 100 = 65.13%

OR

What is 71% of 109

Which means:

(71/100)*109 = 77.39

thanks guys nsorry the question wasnt very clear.ok what percentage is 71 of 109.i think thats how you say it lol. Very Happy

Wiseman the way to work out any percentage is :

Actual(Outcome) / Probable (Total) X 100 (percentage).

So in ur example its 71/109 X 100 = 65.13 %
