trying to understand Tote win. I know the winnings are distributed from a pot.
On the Tote website it provides win guide prices and says at the bottom that these are based in £1 stakes.
An example currently displayed is Horse X at odds of 14/1 with a win guide of £28.40. SO: if I place a £1 bet on Tote for this horse then i will get back £28.40 but if i place a normal bet using the odds I will get back £14?
But, that can't be right?
I am probably missing something obvious here, but would appreciate any explanation. Thanks. |

| scotty the Tote payout price you quoted is what the current payout is at the time , it doesnt necessarily mean that will be the divident you get. Tote prices, can alter very quickly. |
