under/over goal line

under/over and goal line whats the exact difference between these two bets? The cup final:goal line 2.25 under 2.04 over 2.04 /total goals under 2.5 1.66 over 2.29. Surely over2.25=3+and over2.5=3+ yet the odds are better for over 2.5.

Hi, as far as I am aware the Total Goals market is a straight forward bet as to whether you think their will be more or less than 2.5 Goals.
The Goal Line over/under 2.25 is a split stake bet, half of your stake goes on Under 2.5 and the other half goes on under 2 goals if there are exaclty 2 goals half your stake is a Push and that half is returned The goal line in this case seems to be the worse value bet here IMO but others may think differently.

I hope this explanation is easy to understand, and if I have got it completely wrong someone here will put me right.

Cheers. What happens if you bet over 2.25 and its 2 goals. Are the odds just lower or are half stakes returned which does not seem likely.

As Donkey said half your stake is on under 2 goals and half on under 2.5 so if its 2 goals then you would win half since half your stake won and the other was a push. ie 100 would return 150 at even stakes (2.0) including your orginal stake back.100 would return you 145 if its 1.9 etc.

I get it ?but it"s easier to say . 0-2..2-3..3+..4+..4-6..5+..7+.. or what ever . The Balkan is using this method and it"s good & simplle.That"s all I have to say about this.
