Hi Guys

Just wanted to draw everyones attention to this page on the site. It seems that a few people are struggling at the moment, and rather than suffer in silence, its worth reading up on this list of dos and donts to make sure u r doing as many things right as u can.

OK heres my Yes's

1. Do you lose time from work due to gambling?
Confused me a bit though as gambling kindof is my work but I do pop to online bookies for some research throughout the day & indulge in the odd game of poker!

8. After a win do you have a strong urge to return and win more?
Yes much more so than after a loss strangely

9. Do you often gamble until your last pound is gone?
I do have a tendancy to go "all in"

Good thread guys. Gambling can certainly be addictive and we should all be wary of the signs that we are taking it too far.

Half of Number 6 is a little confusing.

6. Does gambling cause a decrease in your ambition or efficiency?

Surely the definition of ambition is being prepared to take risks for rewards, this could also be the definition of gambling.

Gambling is risky, I recently just lost half of my total funds (im a college student so it hurt) and am slowly on the road to recovery. I felt like I had a problem so I purchased a hypnotic audio tape to try and cure it. Hopefully it works.

1. Do you lose time from work due to gambling?

Yes but not from Gambling, from spending time on OLBG 9am - 1am most days.

14. Do you gamble longer than you planned?

I spend more time on here than i should, but it keeps me outta the bookies.

17. Does gambling cause you to have difficulty in sleeping?

OLBG keeps me up all hours of the night trying to pick winners, write decent commentries on my selections and get into that pop tipster leauge

Since finding this site, i am completly reformed. I have a small wager as and when i have time, but like yesterday i was in front of the telly screaming at the top of my lungs for no otherreason than i wanted my tips for my followers (are there any?), to come home. I had no real money on whatsoever, only OLBG money which i probably take more seriously than real stuff nowadays anyway.

I enjoy my racing far more now, as if i do lose now i only have the embarrasment of everyone knowing that my tips for that day were rubbish, but i dont get that sick feeling of knowing i shouldne have done what i just did when i whacked me last £50 on a second favourite in the vain hope that i would recoup.

I am so glad i never have to experience that feeling anymore.

THANX OLBG, i will never get tired os saying it.

My problem is I have a very compusive personality.... what I mean is I tend to be very compulsive/addictive with the pleasureable things in life. I'm also very competitive and confident and unfortunalely beleive nothing is impossible...

I have been gambling for at least 15 years and thankfully I have always catered for all lifes expenses before allocating money for gambling. Did get in bother about 5 years ogo and gambling took me over [dont wish to go into it], giving me a reminder for life [a criminal record]. Thankfully I believe mistakes are only mistakes if one dosent learn from them and present day I am so thankful to be the person I am [more controlled and happier in general, although I still gamble and always will].

Gambling and addictions in general are diseases and not to be taken lightly...

That rang a bell with me Smile "Let OLBG exorcise your gambling demons" could well be a good t-shirt slogan. It certainly is true.
