hi all
this is a blog that will hopefully last between 4-6 weeks.i have a ante-post bet in-running which contains 9 selections. if it came up it would be worth a 6 figure sum.i nearly got a antepost up last year but barcelona [la liga] let me down at the last hurdle,but i was lucky enough that i covered myself and made a few quid out of it.i also had a difficult time at the end of last year through my gambling and my total lack of discipline.i lost a lot of monies and if i was lucky enough to get anything back from this bet it would certainly ease the pain of that period last year.i was actually off the gambling at the beginning of the year for a little while and i actually did this bet during this period[ i know it is a contradiction]but i have always done ante-post bets and i just wanted some interest for the remainder of the season ;;anyway enough of waffle,,,i honestly don`t believe my bet will come up and i think i will have great difficultly trying to cover myself as you will see .my 9 antepost selections are;
everton 7/4 = without big 4
west brom 4/11 = to win promotion
swansea 4/7 = to win div 1
darlington 8/13 = to win promotion
ross county 5/6 = to win scottish div 2 [ won]
real madrid 4/11 = to win la liga [irony]
bordeaux 1/1 = to win french div 1 [without lyon]
monchengladbach 11/8= bundesliga div 2
leinster 11/8 = magners rugby
stake 400 euros= 107,388 euros [ if all win]
now my problem is i have no faith in darlington winning the playoffs as their recent form has been terrible[ even allowing for all their injury problems]but that was o.k in my mind as i would still have a great opportunnity to cover my bet in the playoffs, that was untill aston villa started blasting all these goals in in their last 3 games.a few weeks ago i was counting everton up in my head but now i think aston villa are in pole position especially now that the goal difference is in their favour and everton have still to play arsenal away.so everton v aston villa at the week-end will have serious implications for my bet.anyway, any thoughts or opinions on this will be appreciated
p.s i have a problem with my computer so i have to paste this thread,
so please, please let me do it right |

Hi Swash - good luck. Hopefully it goes down to the wire and you can think about Lay off options. |

hi all
cheers alfie +o.t, firstly,i think everton are up against it tomorrow and for my bet sake i really need everton to win as i think a draw would put aston villa in the driving seat for 5th place, especially as evertons remaining 2 fixtures look tougher[ on paper ].at the same time villa`s game with west ham could be a banana skin and who`s to say that everton won`t get something at highbury.so i suppose for all that a draw would not be a disaster.
monchengladbach play 1860 munich tomorrow and a win for them would keep them 6 points ahead at least, with 4 games remaining,
real madrid ,bar a disaster have la liga wrapped up.
swansea have to equal or better leeds result next week ,only if leeds were to get back their 15 points and knowing my luck recently, thats not out of the question
darlington couldn`t even beat dag and redbridge today after going 2-0 up and there is no way i would let it ride with darlington if everton come through for me .
west brom need just 1 point to guarantee promotion with 2 games remaining and i would be surprised if they did not get that on monday against southampton.
bordeauxare in a similiar position with 3 games remaining as they are 12 points clear of as nancy [4 games left] so barring a massive disaster, they are up.
leinster can wrap up the magners lge next week if they beat the dragons at home but they could actually lose their remaining 2 games and still win the lge so they are basically up as well.
so the picture could be a lot clearer tomorrow. there could be another problem for me however.
last year i was in a similiar position with a bet and i layed off on it as i was all right financally.this year i am not in the same position and i have to get some plans up and running if everton come through for me. i think my first plan will be to go to paddy powers[ where i placed my bet] and see would they be interested in buying it back off me i think there could be a chance of that happening as i have been a good [ bad ] customer with them and have spent a lot of monies with them as my online account would show. my second plan could be my papa [ i know it sounds bad] under normal circumstances this would not be a problem but they are anti-gambling and they would want to know where all my monies had gone.,so that would be a problem as i could not tell them the truth .i think i would probably need 50,000/ 60,000 to guarantee about 25,000 so moneywise that would be a problem.anyway this could all be for nothing if everton lose against villa. if results go my way tomorrow and anyone has any suggestions, feel free to post as they would be appreciated
p.s,,, this is all genuine[ its not a w.u] |

hi all
cheers kilkennycat [ up uibh fhaili ]
well at least bordeaux and west brom are up for me now.i was bitterly
disappointed yesterday considering everton were 2-1 up with 5 mins remaining but at least they did not lose.i think villa are in the driving seat now as their remaining fixtures are a lot easier than evertons [ on paper anyway]but there could be a few twists and turns left. all i can hope[pray] for is that everton take something from their game with arsenal and at least that would leave it in evertons hands going into their last game against newcastle
monchengladbach only drew yesterday.that leaves them 4 points clear with 4 games remaining
monchengladbach 57pts
hoffenheim 53pts
mainz 52pts
fc koln 51pts
but both hoffenheim and mainz have to travel to fc.koln so i do still expect monchengladbach to win the division.
regarding trying to Lay or trade my bet [ if results go my way at the weekend]the problem i am going to have is that the div 3 play-offs start on may 17th and it is probable that the everton and monchengladbach bets will not be resolved by then[ i think the 1st play-off game kicks off at 12.00]my hand would be stronger if i was just waiting on darlington because i would imagine i would have no chance with Paddy Power regarding trading my bet if i was still waiting on 2 or 3 selections, and the same would apply if i was going to try and Lay the bet.there is a chance monchengladbach could be up by then as they play 2 games next week.
i might go into my local Paddy Power shop where i placed my bet and speak with the manager about it as he is a nice bloke and knows his stuff when it comes to gambling. he might speak to their traders about it. actually, i might leave that for a few days [ he is from derby ]
to be honest ,i am not sure at this moment what i am going to do but the picture will be a lot clearer at the week-end.if anyone wants to voice their opinions please feel free to do so ] |

hi all
well that certainly was a big and pleasant surprise today with aston villas result against wigan.i was beginning to except in my mind that villa were going to get 5th place and that i wouldn`t get a chance to make any monies from the bet.villa could still get 5th but it does look highly unlikely.swansea and leinster are officially up for me,so now i am waitng on real madrid , everton [hopefully both up tomorrow ] monchengladbach and darlington.monchengladbach play kickers offenbach [away] tomorrow,sv wehen [home]wenesday,sc freiburg[home]next sunday and finish the following week with an away game against bottom place sc paderborn.i really won`t know where i stand with the bet until wenesday night but in a ideal world i would hopefully be just waiting on darlington, who actually had a good result today which could give them a bit of confidence for the play-offs next week.i have not figured out how i can try to cover myself with the bet and with darlington at home[12.00] to rochdale next saturday in the play-offs it won`t be easy to find a solution.if results go my way by wenesday night i will go into my local Paddy Power shop and speak to the manager about trading my bet and if it comes to it, i will travel up to tallaght ,dublin to their head office and speak to someone there.i am beginning to think they would not be interested in trading but if it comes to it ,i will give it a try.last year i was in a similiar position with a bet i did with Boylesports and i did ask them about trading my bet but they said no,they did not trade any bets. hopefully i will think of something but i might have to wait until after darlington`s match next saturday[ as everton play on sunday] and that result could determine what my chances are on getting some monies. i am beginning to talk in circles now as i am tired so please excuse me cheers
ps,, hopefully everton, real madrid and monchengladbach will come in for me tomorrow |

hi all
well todays results were not to bad for me as real madrid clinched la liga with their late goals win over osasuna and monchengladbach moved 5 points clear with 3 games remaining after their 7-1 away win over kickers offenbach. i thought for a while that everton were going to get the point they needed but alas it was not to be.there could be a few more twists and turns next sunday in the everton and aston villa games and alot will depend on villas approach to their game as their players will be a bit down after the wigan game[ imo ].monchengladbach are 5 points clear of mainz and 6 clear of koln but next sunday mainz travel to play koln and
hopefully monchengladbach will be the champions by then.this week i will be trying to get some more info on darlingtons injuries [ as their offical website is not very quick with updating such things ] if by any chance there is any darlington fans reading this, could you fill me in on some injury news.i think joachim is back for next week but i have not read about anyone else. also is stockdales injury bad ? and any chance blundell getting back? anyway fingers crossed for now roll on wenesday and monchengladbachs match cheers |

hi all
monchengladbach`s 3-0 win has more or less wrapped up bundesliga 2.they are 6 points ahead of fc.koln with 2 games remaining and have a +13 better goal difference. it now rests on darlington and everton.i will pop in tomorrow to speak to the manager in Paddy Power`s but the more i think of it,the more i think there is no way they will trade my bet.darlington play rochdale [5.35] at home on saturday and if i have no joy with Paddy Power i will have to let the bet ride for that match[ and everton`s game on sunday.]. darlingtons game was originally down for a 12.00 kick-off [bbc fixture list] but i think it was changed to 5.35 for sky tv.i hope the darlington supporters decide to attend the match and cheer on their team as it has been said that there is a lack of atmostphere at darlo`s home games because of the low crowds/big stadium......i`m picking at straws here
come on darlo +everton |

hi all
called into my local Paddy Power shop this morning to speak with the manager about trading the bet , but he was not there.so i am just after getting of the phone after speaking with someone in the sportsline department who in turn had spoken to someone higher up, and they said someone will ring me back later on today.
i have my fingers crossed that there is a chance they would trade with me for the bet, but i am not holding my breath. i was let go from my job through lack of work last february and have only been doing bits and pieces since ,so any monies from this bet would be greatly appreciated ,,,,
IF they ring back, i will post later |

Mr Swash - another exciting season end for you
Darlington are currently 4.50 to Lay for promotion and Everton are 1.12 to Lay w/o Big 4.
I assume your relatives are not up to lending you a few k to Lay the bet off, so hopefully your bookie plays DEAL OR NO DEAL with you
PS - I hope you spend any winnings more wisely than you did last year's |
