Well i thought after some success i had in attempting £10 - £10000 challenge with my singles i would start my own singles blog. Listing selections i pick on an account i hold with Bet365. Selections may come few and far between over the summer until around October. But i will keep my eyes peeled for any selections worth the punt over the coming months. Starting bank will be 5000 points. Singles will be placed using either 2.5% or 5% of the bank depending on the confidence and stats surrounding selections. I have opted for points as opposed to money amounts as i think its irrelevant what sort of money is being staked as long as the betting percentages are followed.

Starting Bank - 5000pts

Hopefully i can spot a bet in the coming days to get this off to a start. My goal here is to double the starting bank to 10,000pts by May 2010. This is more than achievable as long as the number of selection required are available.

Thanks KKC.

Bet 1:
FF Jaro vs JJK

While i have struggled to come to terms with the Norweigan leagues this season i feel i have gained a respectable understanding of the Swedish and Finnish top leagues. Midweek i tipped IFK Mariehamn on the AH to beat JJK and they did not let me down. And the reason for this selection is almost the same. JJK did not play things smartly in the build up for this season after their promotion. They lost their top goalscorer and possibly their best player and nobody has been brought in to help strengthen their team. And its no suprise their main problem this season is scoring goals. Just 4 in 7 matches. And all those 4 goals have been scored at home. JJK even lost 2-0 to relegation favourites KuPS in their last away match.

FF Jaro have only played 2 home matches this season - W1 D1 L0 GF4 GA1. The only concerning point was they drew 1-1 at home to KuPS. But every team can have off days. After being battered 5-1 by FC Honka last week, who themselves have finally got their season moving, FF Jaro will be keen to get back to winning ways at home. The concern for JJK is their scoring. I can't see them scoring here. FF Jaro are expected to finish mid table and are expected to win matches like this. And while KuPS were favourites with the clubs and Finnish media to go down this season i would have JJK as favourites.

FF Jaro Win @ 1.70 (Bet365)

Stake: 125pts
Return Profit If Wins: 87.5pts
Closing Balance: 4875pts

Cheers BFA.

5-1 Victory for FF Jaro. Nice and simple. Was quite suprised JJK scored if i am honest. No further bets for today atleast. Will post up more bets once i find some that i am confident on, and hopefully are respectable prices. I did have a quick look at tomorrows games but nothing has really caught my eye. I will have a more in depth look later on this evening.

Bet 1 Returned: 212.5pts
Closing Balance: 5087.5pts
Blog Profit: 87.5pts

Thanks Kim.

To be honest i have no idea when the Bet 2 is going to come along. I have had a look through to Wednesday next week and cannot find anything worth seriously backing. I would be suprised if i can pick out more than 10 bets before the start of the English leagues. Any bets i can locate over the summer are likely to come from the Finnish league. I feel this league has some structure to it, unlike the top leagues in Sweden and Norway, with these leagues throwing up constant suprises. Also i am not too hot on the South American football leagues.

Heres to hoping Bet 2 will come along before August lol

Just out of interest, have you thought about backing Valerenga on the Over 2.5 market for tomorrow's game?

I hadn't, but the bookies seem to favour the overs in that match. 5 of Valerenga's last 6 away matches in all competitions have been over 2.5 goals and 4 of Vikings last 6 home matches have also finished over 2.5 goals. The last 3 head to head meetings between these two teams with Viking playing at home have alos finished over 2.5 goals so if i was to bet on this i would agree over 2.5 would seem the more likely. Pending team news. No injuries/suspensions to top goalscorers or top defenders etc.

I have had a little bet (Only with OLBG money) on unders in the Lyn Olso vs Lillestrom game. Lillestrom had high hopes pre-season, but have had a very poor start. Their playing style is compared to the Bolton that we saw under Sam (Aa few years back). I find when teams who play ugly football to win come up against desperately poor sides like Lyn Olso, it tends to result in very few goals. Unless of course a goal is scored in the first couple of minutes (That almost always changes the outcome of a match).

Bet 2:
Bohemians vs Galway United

Galway have slipped into a bad patch lately and have lost their last 3 matches in all competitions, and have lost 4 of their last 6. Galway have found it relatively hard away from home this season. Their away stats are W2 D2 L3 GF7 GA7. Their 2 away victories have been against St Patricks and Drogheda United. Both those team are in the bottom 4 of the home table stats. 6 of the 7 away goals Galway United have conceded have come in the first 45 minutes of matches.
Bohemians are now finding their rhythm and have won their last 3 matches in all competitions. Bohemians only home defeat this season was a 1-0 loss to second placed Cork City. They have the best home record in the Eircom, having W5 D1 L1 GF14 GA2. So only conceding 2 goals in 7 home matches. When playing at home Bohemians are the only team to have not been losing at half time. Their home half time stats are W3 D4 L0 GF5 GA1. So a majority of their goals are scored in the second half. 4 of the Boh’s 14 matches this season have finished under 2.5 goals (71.5%). And 5 of their 7 home matches have finished unders. When playing away from home only 2 of Galways 7 away matches have finished over 2.5 goals.
Head to head statistics massively favour Bohemians when they are playing at home in this fixture. Bohemians have won 7 of the last 10. Galway last beat Bohemians on their ground back in 1999. The price is not great, but with the form the home side are currently in I will take them to see off Galway. 5% of starting bank.

Bohemians Win @ 1.33 (Bet365)

Stake: 250pts
Return Profit If Wins: 82.5pts
Closing Balance: 4837.50pts

Good luck with this one, mate.

I'm gonna follow you with this one but add a little more risk; gonna take the Half Time / Full Time Bohemians win at even money.

Knowing my luck though, they'll go into the break all square.

I'm not sure if you have taken this bet already Liverpool1985 but you can get Bohs at 2/5 with SkyBet and VC.
