Cheers for the kind words on the blog mate, I Have to say your doing a great job with the Veikkausliga, I've took a few of your tips an the write ups are top notch. I've no doubt you'll carry on being successful.
Just a little tip for next Veikkausliiga round for you: Both Inter goalkeepers are suspended in a game against Lahti. First gk Bantamoi was sent off against HJK last weekend and second GK Monsalve was sent off against TamU yesterday. 19 year old Reponen will play his first full game on this level. Odds on Lahti are around 4 and will come down a bit.
Fetapekka - Thank you for that information. I had noticed FC Inter had a few players dismissed lately, but i did not notice it was their 1st and 2nd choice goalkeeper. I appreciate you noticing that. Thank you.

KuPS
Well their extremely bad run in the Veikkausliga continues, and they have now lost their last 7 league games in a row. Just too some up how bad they have been, they even sit below JJK in the league table and it is already relatively hard to see KuPS in this division next season. They actually managed to score in their 4-1 away defeat to FC Honka last time out, which was the first time they had scored in 6 league games. Their home record this season is W1 D0 L3 GF3 GA7. Their one victory was a 2-0 win against JJK. KuPS’s half time home record reads as W1 D1 L2 GF1 GA4, and is the worst in the league. Their home matches have been against MyPA, JJK, FC Inter and TPS. So a couple of strong teams and a couple of weak teams. KuPS have really struggled for goals this season, and only average 0.42 goals per match. But they have no trouble conceding goals, and concede an average 2.25 goals per match. They have only kept 1 clean sheet, and have failed to score in 8 of their 12 matches so far this season. 5 of KuPS’s 12 matches have finished over 2.5 goals, but only 1 of their 4 home matches have finished overs. And they are currently 14th and bottom of the form tables with a record of W0 D0 L6 GF1 GA15.
RoPS
They finally got a victory last time against JJK. And fair play to them as they have been unlucky in previous weeks with results going against them. And while I would expect most of their points this season to be won at home they could have an outside chance here. Their away record this season is W0 D1 L6 GF6 GA18. Their away point was a 1-1 draw against JJK. And RoPS have played some relatively strong opposition away from home this season. But they have lost to a couple of weaker sides, ie VPS. RoPS’s half time stats when they play away from home are W1 D1 L5 GF4 GA11. RoPS are slightly better than KuPS in front of goal but have still only managed 0.83 goals per game. They have conceded an average of 1.92 goals per game. They have kept 2 clean sheets this season, both in home matches. And they have failed to score on 4 occasions. Exactly half of their matches have finished over 2.5 goals this season, 4 of their 7 away matches. They are 10th in the six match form tables with a record of W2 D0 L4 GF7 GA11.
Head To Head
A stat that is slightly in favour of RoPS. Their record is W6 D2 L4 GF17 GA11. When KuPS have been playing at home the stats are still slightly in RoPS’s favour with a record of W3 D1 L2 GF5 GA4. 7 of the last 10 meetings between the two sides have finished as under 2.5 goals. And 4 of the 6 matches played at this ground have finished as unders. RoPS have won here on their last two visits, and on both occasions have been 1-0 victors.
Conclusion
Could be seen as a very difficult game to call. Under 2.5 goals look like this could be a decent bet as KuPS really don’t make a habit of scoring. I think a similar scoreline could be on the cards as the previous two seasons. RoPS have impressed me lately with their battling performances. KuPS will see this as a must win game, but RoPS will also see this as a must win game. I am not posting a bet with real money on this just yet, but I will have a little bet on OLBG money on the away win. I am not sure how KuPS can be available as short as 2.10 in some places? _________________ July 2009 One A Day Football Runner Up

Tampere United
Even though it took FC Inter to go down to 10 men, Tampere United got a moral boosting victory midweek that they probably did not deserve. The match finishing 3-2 in their favour. Tampere United have the 2nd best home record in the Veikkausliga and their home stats are W5 D0 L2 GF10 GA7. When playing at home their half time stats are much less impressive and read W2 D2 L3 GF3 GA3. And after a mixed start they had to the season at home with 2-0 losses against TPS and FF Jaro they seem to have now found their rhythm and have won their last 4 home matches on the bounce. Tampere have average 1 goal per game this season, and they have conceded an average of 1.33 goals per game. They have only managed 3 clean sheets all season, but all 3 of these have been in their home matches. And a bit surprisingly they have failed to score in 5 matches already this season. Only 4 of their 12 matches in the league this season have finished over 2.5 goals, and 2 of their 5 home games have been overs. Tampere are 8th in the six match form standings and they have a record of W3 D0 L3 GF9 GA7.
JJK
Almost grabbed a valuable away point last time out until losing to RoPS in extra time. And I think a result like that is only going to hang the players heads even lower and I am not sure what sort of team are going to turn up for this match. Their away record is the 4th worst in the division and their away record is W0 D1 L4 GF4 GA12. Their only point coming in their first away match in the Veikkausliga against TPS. Since then they have suffered 4 straight away losses against KuPS, FF Jaro, VPS and RoPS (Who are not exactly the best 4 teams in the division). JJK’s half time stats when playing away from home are W0 D2 L3 GF2 GA5. They only score an average of 0.91 goals per match, which is not good enough when you consider they concede an average of 1.82 goals per match. They have only kept 2 clean sheets, and have failed to score on 4 occasions this season. Which is actually less than their opponents Tampere United. 5 of their 11 matches have finished over 2.5 goals, and 3 of their 5 away matches have ended as overs. In the six match form standings JJK are 13th with a record of W1 D0 L5 GF8 GA16. They have conceded more goals in their last 6 matches than any other team, and yes, even more than KuPS.
Head To Head
The only meeting on record between these two teams was on the 11.03.2009. This was in the Liiga Cup and JJK were the home side. Tampere United won the match 3-2, after JJK had gone 2-0 up inside the first 10 minutes.
Conclusion
Its hard to even find one reason as to why or how JJK could cause an upset here. They have taken 1 point from 5 away matches. And their 4 away losses have been against some of the relatively weaker sides in this league. Tampere, although slightly lucky against FC Inter did show their fighting spirit to come from 2-0 down and they have shown some consistency of late when playing at home. Not sure which market to back Tampere on. I will have a shop around and see which market, if any, catches my eye. I will just cover the straight home win with OLBG money. _________________ July 2009 One A Day Football Runner Up

FC Inter
They will be disappointed that they threw away a 2-0 lead at Tampere United to end up losing 3-2. And as spotted by Fetapekka it now seems that FC Inters third choice goalkeeper will be playing in this match. But despite them losing their last two matches I have to note the fact these were 2 away game losses against 2 teams with very good home records. FC Inters home stats this season are W4 D0 L2 GF7 GA5. And they have already beaten such opposition as FC Honka and TPS. But have suffered home defeats against FC Haka and VPS Vassa. FC Inter are yet to be losing at half time when playing at home and their half time home stats are W2 D4 L0 GF3 GA1. FC Inter have managed to keep 5 clean sheets this season, but they have also failed to find the back of the net on 5 occasions already this year. They score an average of 1.08 goal per match, and concede an average of 1 goal per match played. Only 3 of Inters 12 matches this season (25%) have finished over 2.5 goals, and just 2 of their 6 home matches (33.3%) have finished as overs. FC Inter are 9th in the six match form tables, and they have a record of W2 D0 L4 GF6 GA9.
FC Lathi
And at last they finally ended their bad run of results and got a well needed 2-1 victory against Tampere United last time out. They have also played in Europe since then, trashing Din. Tirana 4-1. So its fair to say their should be a bit of confidence buzzing around the FC Lahti camp at the moment. Lahti’s away stats this season are W0 D2 L3 GF5 GA10 and they are one of 5 teams who are still yet to win an away game this season. They have played some difficult teams away from home already this season, ie FC Honka and HJK Helsinki. But their 2-1 loss to JJK still sticks in the back of my mind. Their half time stats away from home are W0 D3 L2 GF2 GA4. They have scored an average of 1.42 goals per game this season, and have conceded an average of 1.50 goals per game. They have only managed to keep 2 clean sheets all season, but have also only failed to score on 3 occasions. But scoring is not their problem, and they are the top scorers in the bottom half of the Veikkausliga. 8 of their 12 matches this season have finished as overs. And 4 of their 5 away matches this season have finished over 2.5 goals. They are 12th in the six match form standing and they have a record of W1 D1 L4 GF6 GA12.
Head To Head
Running this stat right back it is slightly in the favour of FC Inter, the stats read W13 D5 L9 GF39 GA27. And when FC Inter are playing at home the head to head stats are still in their favour, W7 D2 L4 GF21 GA9. In the last 10 meetings FC Inter have won 3, FC Lahti have won 3 and the other 4 have been draws (1 of these Lahti won in Extra time). In 5 of the last 6 head to heads the two teams have been drawing at half time. 8 of the last 10 meetings have finished under 2.5 goals. And the last 4 at this ground have also finished as unders.
Conclusion
Strange game to call. Its hard to assess the outcome with FC Inter playing their 3rd choice Goalkeeper. Will he play the game of his life? Or will he have a nightmare match? Either way FC Inter still have a quality midfield and will pose a threat to FC Lathi. Despite all the stats pointing to Unders here the two bets I like the look of are the Half Time Draw and Over 2.5 goals. Has the makings of an open game. And Inter will not want 3 successive losses on the trot. I am still undecided on the 1X2 market. _________________ July 2009 One A Day Football Runner Up

IFK
Have made an impressive start to this season, and have now not lost in their last 8 matches in the Veikkausliga since they lost 2-0 to HJK Helsinki on the 06.05.2009. It has been at the back where IFK have been so impressive and they have only conceded 6 goals all season, which in turn is the best defensive record in the league. Their home record this season is fantastic and reads W4 D2 L0 GF10 GA3. And to be fair to this team they have already played the likes of FC Inter, FC Honka, FC Haka and Tampere United at home already this season. Aand to be unbeaten after playing those sides I find impressive to say the least. It is even more impressive for IFK at half time when playing at home. Their record is W5 D1 L0 GF5 GA0. They are the only side not to have conceded a first half goal when playing at home. IFK have scored an average of 1.08 goals per game, but they have only conceded an average of 0.50 goals per game. They have kept a staggering 8 clean sheets this season, but they have failed to score on 5 occasions. But only 1 of these was at home. Only 3 of their 12 matches this season have finished over 2.5 goals. 3 of their 6 home matches have ended as overs. They are currently 6th in the six match form standings and have a record of W3 D3 L0 GF6 GA2.
VPS
Were the form team in the division until last time out. But although I expected them to lose to HJK Helsinki you have to give them credit for the battle they put up. Leading 3-1 at one point, before losing 4-3. Although things haven’t exactly gone their way when playing away from home. Their away stats this season are W2 D1 L2 GF3 GA3, any they have won their last 2 away games against MyPA and FC Inter. And it is fair to say VPS have played some difficult competition away from home this season. Their half time away stats when playing away from home are W1 D3 L1 GF1 GA1. VPS have scored an average of 1.25 goals per game this season, and they have conceded an average of 1.42 goals per game. VPS Vassa have kept 5 clean sheets this season, but have failed to score on 4 occasions. VPS are still 2nd in the six match form standings with a record of W5 D0 L1 GF12 GA6.
Head To Head
These two have not really met to often over the years. The overall head to head favours IFK Mariehamn who have a record of W5 D2 L3 GF16 GA12. But when you look at the meetings when IFK have been playing at home the stat actually favours VPS with a record of W3 D0 L2 GF7 GA6. In the 10 matches these two have played together the overs/unders is exactly even with 50% on each market. And 6 of the 10 matches have actually favoured the away team, with only 2 of the 10 being won by the home side (Both by IFK Mariehamn).
Conclusion
I do slightly favour the home side as their excellent defensive displays have given them a nice start to the Veikkausliga season. But VPS are not a team to be taken lightly. I think they will have been knocked back down to earth after their defeat to HJK in the week. The head to head gives a mixed feeling with the away teams record in these matches but IFK have beaten some very strong opposition at home already this season. _________________ July 2009 One A Day Football Runner Up

MyPA
Well its been a while since MyPA last got to play at home. To be exact this was on the 31.05.2009 which resulted in a 2-0 loss for MyPA against VPS Vassa. And it has been 3 home games since MyPA last won, which in turn was a 1-0 victory over title favourites HJK Helsinki. They only have the 11th best home record this season with home stats of W2 D2 L1 GF7 GA5. Their home stats at half time read W1 D3 L1 3 GA3. Ironically the lowest ranked team they have played at home (VPS) are the only team to have beaten them. After they have beaten HJK and Tampere United and got draws against FC Lahti and FC Inter. MyPA have scored an average of 1 goal per game this season, and they have conceded an average of 1.18 goals per game this season. They have kept 5 clean sheets this season, 2 of these have been at home. But they have also failed to score on 5 occasions so far this year. 5 of their 11 games in the Veikkausliga have finished as over 2.5 goals. And only 2 of their 5 home matches have finished as overs. This league has seen 52% of its games finish as over 2.5 goals. They are currently 11th in the six match form figures with stats of W1 D2 L3 GF5 GF10.
FC Haka
Were in all fairness fairly poor against FF Jaro last time out, and they were very lucky not to lose that match, with FF Jaro hitting both the post and bar. And it was their good defensive system that kept them out of danger against Jaro. Haka’s away record this season is W3 D1 L1 GF6 GA3. Their three victories have been against FC Inter, VPS and TPS. They lost to IFK Mariehamn last time out and have drawn away to the very poor JJK. FC Haka’s half time away stats are W1 D2 L2 GF1 GA2 and they do not get the best of starts to their matches. Haka have managed an impressive 7 clean sheets this season and have been very strong in defence, and they have only failed to score twice this season. Haka have scored an average of 1.5 goals per match, and they have conceded an average of 0.58 goals per match. 6 of Haka’s 12 matches this season have finished as overs, and 2 of their 5 away matches. FC Haka are 3rd in the six match form standings with a record of W4 D1 L1 GF12 GA3. Only IFK Mariehamn have conceded less goals than Haka in their last 6 matches.
Head To Head
If this stat is run right back then it favours FC Haka with a record of W16 D7 L12 GF60 GA51. And when MyPA have been playing at home the stats are also in FC Haka’s favour and are W7 D4 L4 GF23 GA16. The main thing going for FC Haka is that 7 of the last 10 head to head meetings between the two teams has resulted in an away victory. Also head to head meetings between these two sides has not seen a home win in the last 9 matches. 6 of the last 10 meetings have finished over 2.5 goals and 7 of the last 9 at this ground between the two teams have finished as overs. But Haka have been a very tight team this season so I am not sure this trend will continue.
Conclusion
Well the head to head stats favour the away side in this head to head encounter. Haka have tightened up really well this season and have become an extremely difficult side to break down at times. MyPA have thrown a shock this season already by beating HJK Helsinki 1-0 at home. Haka are in the better match form and the away win looks slightly like the better bet. Another close game this weekend to call.

The FF Jaro vs HJK Helsinki write up will have to be provided tomorrow night now i am afraid. But i have placed the following bets.
Bet 15: RoPS (Draw No Bet) @ 2.10 (Bet365)
Stake: 125pts
Profit If Wins: 137.5pts
After seeing the highlights of their 2-1 victory against JJK i realise they should have won about 4-1. They do play some nice football, and although the win here is not guaranteed, i do not see them losing this very important match.
Bet 16: Tampere United @ 1.36 (SkyBet)
Stake: 250pts
Profit If Wins: 90.91pts
For the same reason as above really. I saw JJK against RoPS. The performance was a sham. Their only clear cut chance resulted in a goal, but Tampere United have a much stronger team and should see this one out.
Bet 17: IFK Mariehamn @ 1.80 (Bet365)
Stake: 125pts
Profit If Wins: 100pts
They have been solid at home this season. They have a very impressive defensive structure. VPS were knocked back a peg last time out and have probably remembered they are not unbeatable after they beat a string of weak teams. IFK have beaten stronger opposition than this so far this season and i honestly think this price shows value.
Not sure where i get the time lol. A couple of hours a few nights a week. Its sort of like my late night hobby. Or something like that anyways. _________________ July 2009 One A Day Football Runner Up
