Hopefully building on the success of the Kings last night who went oh so close to winning, with 3 missed shots in the last 1:30, I hope than today's choice at a decent price will tempt a few people...
Macedonia to win either half @ 2/1
Macedonia and Israel face off at 5pm BST, and this should be a lot more competitive than first expected. It can be argued that both teams have nothing to play for here, but that is not true in the case of Macedonia, a win here could boost there ranking position by a couple of places, which would suit them well before the draw for the World Cup qualifiers, where they will be hoping to get a placement as a pot 5 team, and that will only seem likely with a win tonight in Israel.
Already we have seen some good attacking football by Macedonia as well as good defensive displays, and tonight should be no different. They battered the Israel goal in the last meeting between the two sides and really deserved a lot more than to get beat 2-1. In fact most of their best performances have been after the break, and in most of their qualifiers they have been unlucky not to leave with more goals than the scoreline suggests.
There are a couple of ways that this bet may become more appealing however, firstly they could score early on and hold out to half time, they managed this against Croatia early on in the campaign when they were away from home, before two second half goals won the game for the hosts and saved their blushes....
Israel could go in at half time with a healthy 2-0 or 3-0 lead. This would encourage Macedonia to come out fighting with a better performance in the second half, and with their past performances they should at least go close a couple of times and hopefully come away with a goal or two and win the second half..
Or quite simply, they could win the game. They definately have it in them, most people don't see them as a threat at all, but bearing in mind that in their short history they have shown steady signs of improvement, and that this is potentially their best qualifying campaign to date, I wouldn't put it past the away side winning a half or even both, the 2/1 on offer supports brilliant value in my books and will be well worth a small investment for the evening for those who are not brave enough to take up the Draw No Bet @ 9/2
