Really fancy Oscar Del Hoya to beat Forbes within 12 rounds. Oscar should have way to much class for him and Forbes style will favour him. 2.62 for the fight not to last 12 looks appealing.

Not sure if this should go in it's own thread, but my BBOTD is....

North Queensland Cowboys to beat South Sydney Rabbitohs (Rugby League)

Here's why:

Even on an ordinary day, NQ would probably have their measure. But what you may not know is that Rabbitohs have 3 players out of the team for disciplinary reasons (they had a beer, it seems, and Rabbitohs have a teetotal policy). That should ensure a Cowboys victory. I have taken them at the line for 1.90, and the line here is -7, but over there it seems you can get -6 which is fantastic value!

Well I got that one badly wrong. Things like this - when the worst team in the league takes on one of the best teams, and is 3 men down at the start, and the bookies are offering crazy odds - really make one question the integrity of the sport. These sorts of things should not happen, and when the bookies appear to be at fault, it means there could possibly be more to it.

I would not, of course, make wild accusations. But there were a few little things during the match that should be cause for concern. Like the time when a NQ player ran straight at two Rabbitohs and when they failed to tackle him he promptly slipped over.

It all looked like a game of touch football. Quite bland. A picnic. If it were not for the strange case of the odds being so unusual, there would be no problem. But the odds in this case were much higher on the favorite than they should have been, and the favorite lost. I never like to see that sort of thing.
