Just four teams left now to battle it out for cup glory and such amazing comparisons to the real FA Cup, a load of average unknown teams in with a shout Cheeky

Somewhat sadly it has been brought to my attention that a team member copied tip for tip from an opponent member on the final day. Unsure if the result was affected but I know the person who's tips we're copied had a very good day. Some may call it using their intuitive, I call it unsporting behaviour, cheating if you like. Cannot condone that, it's WRONG Lose

I have withdrawn from the Sidwell team.

It's not fair that the other team members be tarnished with the brush for my actions.

I saw it as using my initiative and not in the light that it would be deemed as cheating.

Apologies to all concerned.

I think everyone is a bit embarrassed about all of this, so as Captain (sort of) of Sidwell I thought I would try and clear a few things up here.

1st I have known mrdavie for over 15 years and he is NOT a cheat, crafty maybe but not a cheat. A perfect example and true story was last year we ran a Golf comp and there was a prize for the longest drive, the 1st 4 players missed the fairway, mrdavie was last to go, he simply took out his 9 iron and knocked it straight down the middle and was the winner, some may also say this is cheating but at the end of the day he saw the opportunity and was the one holding the trophy and won the prize money.

I've asked quite a few people what they think of what he did, some say its cheating, others say, clever, crafty, genius, unsporting, everyone has a different opinion. Like he said was thought he was using his initative, being crafty, you could say he was trying to Snooker them. Thats the way he works, whether he is playing tiddly winks, snooker, golf, he likes to win, I would have him in any team I played in, because he gives 100% for the team.

Anyway, I'm not prepared to lose any team mates or friends over this, so can you remove our team from this comp now please

I think you have a few options left

1- Let ALL THINGS IRISH through to the semis
2- Give 13th January boys a bye to the final
3- End this one now and start the new one like you want to

Coopsy02 there is no need to be that rude towards us regardless of what happened. Didn't those Kids go on to win just about everything?

Im in late on the debate, but I see nothing wrong with what was done. Its not cheating at all, it was just a safety measure. Just my 2 cents for what its worth.

A very interesting contest but if your running it again you need to think how the OLBG principle of "no profits no prizes" can be applied.

I am involved with the BF Billybobs and whilst we would be glad to make the final it would be shameful if we did that whilst showing an overall loss.

Worth thinking about for the next contest Confused

PS - I know we don't have a prize for the contest but the principle should still apply, in my view.
