| Anyone have an opinion on this? Got a feeling about Mark McGhee, highly regarded by Alex McLeish, Gordon Strachan and Sir Alex Ferguson. Did alright at Brighton on limited funds and has done well at Motherwell so far. 25/1 so far, rekcon he's a shout. |

| Graham Souness could be a good shout, he is looking for a big job, he would love to manage his country, 6-1 with Paddy Power, mmmm tasty |

Is there a single vacancy which we won't link with Souness?!
Taken a tiny interest on Billy Davies, I think he'll want the job and at least be considered for this job, I'm pretty sure his odds will drop. _________________ www.priceform.com

Surprised McLeish quit to be honest, but Billy Davies looks a solid bet at this early stage. Hes said hes interested, Ive read the SFA would be interested in him, and at 5/2 (last I looked) looks a good price too. _________________ The only dedicated snooker betting blog on OLBG! -> CLick here |

Gary McAllister - was the only other candidate interviewed when McLeish was appointed and is held in high regard in Scotland. Also he's not in a job at the moment.

Souness is too much of a renegade for the SFA. Davies lacks the experience and his post match rant on Saturday cost him the Derby job.
Unlikely, more so as their both ex Celts, but the Roy Aitken - Tommy Burns partnership is an interesting one. They've both been assistant Scotland managers and know the set up well.
Stuart Baxter is worth a dusty tanner @ 25-1.
Cheers,

My opinion on the front runners is not good.
Billy Davies has proved himself at club level and should stay there for the time being. Cant help but think this job may be too big for him.
McAllister has no good expirence of being a manager and would be a very risky option to take up.
Mark McGee is doing a great job for Motherwell and may be a good candidate next time round, cant see him really wanting it right now.
A management team that will last the next 3+ years is needed. People who may have worked together before or now. My inserest would be The JIMMYS. Calderwood and Nicol at Aberdeen have turned that club around since coming in. I believe I am correct in thinking Calderwood has continental exporence in being a manager and the partnership with the two is proved to work well. The SFA should have a seious look at them IMO.
Just adding on at the end here. I would be more than happy if Souness got it too. He has managed at the top level in Scotland and England. And the biggest fact being that he really wants it. He has huge respect of every one involves in the setup and I believe he would be a very viable option.
Who is Stuart Baxter?, thats not your name is it? |
