15:00 Middlesbrough v Portsmouth
Portsmouth+0.5 (Asian Handicap) @ 2
Pompey or draw here is a top class price evens tempts me very much, Boro are beatable side and are missing huth as well today. James looks set to miss out but heirdersson is back in team and baros should partner the in form defoe up front which should be lethel, pompey do have eyes on FA CUp but i still see them taking point here. _________________ Check out my Euro 2008 preview

as I said here are my other tips for today
Terek Grozny to beat Tom Tomsk @ 1.83
Terek Grozny have made a pretty solid start to the season after being promoted and find themselves in 8th position in the league. Terek have won three straight at home, including a 1-0 win over 2006 champions CSKA Moscow and they are starting to look like a decent side. Terek did lose their first home match against Krylya Sovetov but their home form has improved since then and they look a better side. Tom Tomsk are struggling away from home and they are yet to pick up a point on the road, losing all 3 of their away matches in the league and you can add an away loss in the Cup to CSKA aswell. In the 4 meetings between these two, both have won 2, I expect Terek to go ahead historically today.
Schalke to beat Hannover @ 1.45
Schalke are pretty much guaranteed to be in the Champions League next season, although a question mark hangs over who will have to play in a qualifying round will it be them or Werder Bremen. Thats something that will give Schalke a incentive to win this one and they should as Hannover dont have anything to play for and have struggled a bit on the road recently. Schalke have won their last 3 home Bundesliga matches and battered Energie Cottbus 5-0 in their last home match. Hannover won their last away match 3-1 but it was against a Borussia Dortmund side looking forward to a Cup final and had minds elswhere. Before that they had gone 6 away matches without a win and they have won just 2 of their last 10 on the road. Schalke have won their last 5 home meetings with Hannover and also beat them 3-2 in Hannover earlier on this season.
Elfsborg to beat Helsinborgs @ 2.4
Elfsborg have won 3 of their 4 home matches this season and are still yet to concede a home goal which is very good considering teams in Sweden do play attack minded football. Helsingborgs are one of the teams that do this and they rely heavly on the ability to score goals as they have been conceding quite a few away from home this season. In their last away match in the Cup they conceded 3 goals against lower league opposition but scored 4 to win it. They did the same in their last league away match at Kalmar, they conceded 4 goals but only scored 2 this time. Elfsborg are a very solid team and Helsinborg may find it hard to get the opportunities as Elfsborg have looked like a very good side in the first few matches. Elfsborg are unbeaten in their last 5 home meetings with Helsingborgs and the away side have failed to score in 4 of those matches.
Lyon to beat Nice @ 1.91 BET OF THE DAY
Lyon make the trip to Nice in what will be a tough match, but the home side dont have much to play for and have struggled on their own patch recently. Nice have gone 6 home matches without a win, failing to score in 4 of those matches. Lyon have looked like they have ended their inconsistent away form by winning 3 of their last 4 on the road, although they can still be a little jittery they now the title is within site and they need to win all the matches put in front of them. Lyon have won 5 of their last 6 trips to Nice and I expect them to win tonight.
Sporting Gijon to beat Granada 74 @ 1.53
Sporting Gijon stand in 3rd place in the Segunda and a win today will move them closer to La Liga. Real Socieded are really pushing them but a win today would be great for the club. Sporting have been pretty solid at home recently they are unbeaten in their last 6 at home and that has included wins over leaders Numancia and also Real Sociedad. Granada are still not clear of relegation and they are struggling at the moment and this may be a very tough match for them. They have not won away from home since the 8th of December and have lost 4 of their last 6 on the road. Gijon really should win this one. _________________ Read my Boxing blogs, previews of fights happening all over the World. Previews and tips on the wonderful sport of Boxing!

Not quite sure why people fancy Leeds today. Would have thought they would be resting players for play offs and people wont be putting too much effort in incase they get injured etc. Gillingham have to win too.
Not sure why people would backa team who are not too bothered against a side with as much to play for as Gillingham. |

Italian Serie B
This is a tough league to call this season and many games have just gone against what the form says. However after extensive research I have the following tips for today
Grossetto -1 on the Asian Handicap @ evs.
I can actually see them getting a draw off Treviso at least and I was tempted to go for a win for them
Frosinone win @ 69/50
Frosinone may have got hammered in their visit to Cesena but Cesena are rubbish away losing 8 in their last 10 whereas Frosinone are in the top half of the table with a solid home record
Brescai +0.25 @ 37/57
Im going to go for Brescia on the Asian Handicap because Modena have only won 1 in their last 10 home games. However, Brescias home record hasnt been overly impressive. I expect to get something from this game at least
Draw or Pisa (Double Chance) @ 27/37
Pisa have an over 50% away record but they have only won 3 out of their last 10 away from home. I expect them to get something here as Avellino are an inferior side and their record at home isnt brilliant. Although they might have held Pisa when Pisa were at home, I dont think its of great significance as Pisa have played better on their travels
Ascoli-0.25 (Asian Handicap) @ 11/10
Ascoli have only lost two out of their last 10 games at home while Bari have lost only 1 in their last 10 away games. There is only 2 points separating these teams in the league. However, Baris record on the road recently may be good, i think that Ascolis home advantage will be enough to see them through today _________________ "I think one of his greatest moments was when he broke wind loudly at the Crucible and then turned to the audience and said: "Who did that?"' - Bill Werbeniuk [Legend] |

good tips, even if today something easy to be should be the win of the best 4 teams of 2007-2008 italian b league. In fact BOLOGNA, CHIEVO and LECCE play at home, are good teams without injured players and try to reach the first 2 places of the ranking (play off for 3-6 places). ALBINOLEFFE play in Piacenza, a safe team with 1 point in the last 4 matches, so we can expect also a victory for ALBINOLEFFE
CHIEVO 77 5w - 5D - 0L in the last 10 matches
ALBINOLEFFE 74 6-1-3
LECCE 73 4-6-0
BOLOGNA 72 4-4-0 _________________ "I think one of his greatest moments was when he broke wind loudly at the Crucible and then turned to the audience and said: "Who did that?"' - Bill Werbeniuk [Legend] |

Just saw this and can't resist a little punt
Portsmouth -1 Asian Handicap @11.36
Bet365
Both teams don't really have alot to play for and people will be doubting portsmouth as they may rest players for FA Cup final but remember Defoe won't be playing in that game and will still be on form to score some goals, and at this price i can not have a stab, _________________ 3rd in Copa America Comp

I get the impression i am going to have a bit of a problem claiming my winnings from the bury game, my account was settled, then once refreshed, they unsettled both bets
I can see this going sour tbh
Just called them, they are voiding all bets due to unusual betting patterns they say, saying it looks like a bent match
Will have to see what the gambling commision say about this, i fail to see how the match is bent if one team just decides to not play their first team, that is their choice i would have thought |

Betfred
The thing that has got me, is that they have voided it after it came in, if it would have lost, i can almost guarantee they wouldn't have voided it
Seems like they were waiting for the result before the decision was made which is wrong imo
EDIT: Not officially voided it yet, they are showing it as an open bet, but the managing director has instructed all bets be voided |

Well as far as I am aware at the moment he's on his own. That may change of course.
Either you cut the odds or you suspend if you are not happy. If you Lay a price you have to pay out. Surely he can't void AFTER the result!!?? _________________ I did rather well in the February 2008 tables! |

That's exactly what i thought
They appear to have waited to see the result before making the decision, which is wrong, you either void all bets, or Lay the price, you can't have the best of both worlds
I think they will have to overturn it to be honest
They do appear to be the only people atm
From what i can make out, they opened at 7/4 ish, and it was backed into 11/10, they continued to Lay it whilst all this money was coming, so i cannot see how they can decide they will not pay out |
