Closer than some may think and while i favour united its a hard game to call as a punter, best bet may be Ronaldo ATGS but the odds are likely to be poor.

Well I hope MU fullfill their destiny and win it in the 50th anniversary year of the Munich Air Disaster and the 40th anniversary of their first win.

The price for MU to win on penalties is currently 8/1 and as I can see it being a close game this might be the value option, and I'm sure you might be able to get higher if you wait a week. I know Ballack scored a penalty when these teams last met but thinking back to the Charity Shield game (VDSar saved 4 penalties in the shoot-out?) MU would have the psychological edge.

Should MU fail then I am sure Ferguson will blame the artifical pitch.

I actually watched a re-run of the 68 European Cup final on ESPN. The most evident difference between now and then was the total absence of pitchside advertising. Shocked Happy Days Win

I still have a sneaky bet on Chelsea finishing runners up from before the semis which I'm keeping. The pitch will probably play a part but dont know who it'll benefit. Should be a great match to watch anyway!

There is no artificial pitch for the Champions League final. A temporary natural grass pitch will be installed as that was one of the conditions of the stadium and Moscow getting this years final.

I have one thought sticking in my mind everytime I think about this game - Man Utd cannot handle Drogba when he is in the mood and I just think he will turn it on for this game.

United should go at Chelsea from the off, none of this pussy footing around. Thats the best way to beat them IMO. If you look at the game at Old Trafford when they won 2-0 and the 2nd half at Stamford Bridge they were the better team when they decided to attack them.

well said killkennycat!

i wont be betting on this until i see the team sheet and formation!!

if man utd play 4-4-2 attacking football, then there is only 1 winner as man utd are so far ahead of chelsea in footballing terms its scary!!

van der sar in goal, a back 4 of rio, vidic, brown, evra and hargreaves (4 from this 5) any 4 in midfield from ronaldo, scholes, carrick, giggs, anderson, park with rooney and tevez up front then man utd win comfortably by 2-3 goals, for some reason sir alex is scared of chelsea??? i cant see why Confused think it comes from the days of jose being there and it was more important not to lose than it was to win (EGOS)

i know man utd are going to play this 4-5-1 european formation (all down to carlos q) man utd never look the same team when they play like this with rooney out wide, not once was rooney ever in the match vs barcelona in the nou camp, he is totally wasted as footballer out wide

like kenny said, u only have to look at the match at old trafford and the 2nd half 2 weeks ago to know if man utd play attacking football there will only be one winner, man utd left out ronaldo, tevez, evra and lost vidic after 5 minutes because of thugba (knocks vidics teeth out then rolls around like he was fouled?? Confused ) if carrick never gave away the pen then man utd would be champions by now as chelsea never looked like scoring in a month of sundays in the 2nd half, plus they cleared 2 off the line

sir alex played 4-5-1 last week against them and played 4-5-1 last season in cup final, doesnt he understand this is playing into chelsea hands and he is doing exactly what they want him to do?

4-4-2 man utd win (by 2 or 3 goals)

4-5-1 chelsea win (after another boring awful 90/120 mins)

its that simple!!

It's a shame the match isn't being played at Old Trafford isn't it boys? I believe quite a bit of what you have said above ius biased. I trust you are Utd fans?

I'm a fan of neither team but to say Chelsea didn't deserve to beat you at Stamford Bridge is a bit rich. I watched the match and a thought they deserved the win, even if the penalty was fortueitous. But to say Chelsea never looked like getting a winner in a match where you were gifted a goal by Carvalho is funny.

You have beaten Chelsea twice in the last 14 meetings, both at Old Trafford, with Chelsea winnning 6. Even this season, when Utd have supposedly been the best footballing side we have 1 win for each and 2 draws.

Both teams are pretty much at the same level. I can certainly not see anything to seperate Utd as more likely winners than Chelsea. The most likely result in 90mins is a draw and then it's a complete lottery.

nothing betwen man utd and chelsea? LOL

they arent even close when it comes to playing football how football should be played

and i have watched the match plenty of times (sky +) and van der sar made 1 save in the 2nd half (when utd were 4-4-2) cech was one of chelsea busiest players in the 2nd half

like i said if utd play 4-4-2 chelsea dont have a hope in hell of beating them

u need to remember chelsea had a full strenght team at home were utd rested several top players and lost vidic early to injury

ill admit chelsea were rightly leaders at ht (should have been 2 or 3 up) but when sir alex changed it, utd were by far the beter team

I see them as pretty much level teams

UTD do play the better football but chelsea play better together as a unit!

Chelsea dont lose many matches, an Utd usualy score!

I've seen Ronaldo being completely marked outta 2 games this season where Utd still got the draws , 1-1 at Spurs then again at Blackburn. Stopping Ronaldo again might be the 1st thing Chelsea are thinking about, That means altering the tactics to something other than they're a custom too. Which hasnt always worked for Chelsea

Be interesting to see the team sheets . Fergie likes to play Fletcher for Champions leagues games , an Carricks hada pretty good season?!
