The slightly cruel but rather inevitable Sack Race market is up & running.
Curbs favourite at anything from 4.5 - 6. Keegan, Hodgson & Megson the next few names. Interestingly Mowbray is 6.5 with Coral but 19 with VC Bet.
Best odds for me is Mark Hughes at 23 (PaddyPower). If Sven got sacked for on-field results only (which was the general consensus) then i reckon Hughes will be lucky to get to Xmas. _________________ Steve |

I wouldn't take Sparky at 23s the fans just love him to much. I also don't think Roy Hodgson should be up there, he ended the season very well and has now got a real sense of togetherness down at Craven Cottage - that and he's already made a couple of decent signings, Zoltan Gera, Teymourian.
To be fair I think that Gareth Southgate's time may be up, I think their team is mediocre and as a manager he's not the greatest so maybe for me he could be worth a dabble. All 3 managers of teams newly promoted always have a chance of going regardless of their performance as a manager in the Championship, just look at Billy Davies for example last season. _________________ PLAY UP POMPEY |

I disagree really brewster I have a feeling it will be Hodgson who goes first. The signings they have made are average players, Schwarzer is a good keeper but he does have some dodgy matches, Gera and Andranik are very average players who have not really made it in the Premier League. Hodgson did very well to keep them up last term but you look at their start to the season it's tough and if you start badly then you get panicky, getting panicky means you make panic buys, panic buys=trouble!
I dont think Southgate will go and I am saying that as a Boro fan. Stevie Gibson will be patient with him and I think Boro have a better than mediocre side, Alves and Tuncay are two quality strikers and if you have two quality strikers then you wont do badly. The back four is a pretty much all international, Luke Young(England International) Robert Huth(Germany International) David Wheater(Been in England Squad) Emanuel Pogatetz(Austrian International). I think you should look at other managers before Southgate and the main reason is we have a very good chairman who doesnt demand instant results and think that thing can change overnight. _________________ Read my Boxing blogs, previews of fights happening all over the World. I have tipped Southgate before but Gibson sticks with his man always... they wont pull up any trees but I cant see him getting sack.
Hughes is great value at 23/1 - who knows wwhat the crazy thai(rant) will do! _________________ "Lets have a look at what you could have won!" |

Personally, MEGSON. I think unless Bolton sign some real quality they are going to struggle from the start. Newcomers Stoke will want to get off to a flyer at the reebok and I believe that they will take all 3 points and Bolton will be struggling maybe winning 2 from the first 10 games. Bottom at christmas and Megson gone before then.
Curbishley will have us a good season if we can get some squad depth in quality and avoid depletion of the squad via injuries.
Ship out some of the squad in the likes of Boa Morte and Quashie. _________________ "Only those who dare to fail greatly can ever achieve greatly."

Curbishley is gone if the Hammers have a bad start. This would be ridiculous but then again, their fans are ridiculously demanding. Typical!
He has done wonders as well in 06/07. _________________ A good value loser is not useful - get that into your head. |

I think they dont have Curbishley in the plans long term so I agree if we get a bad start he will be gone. _________________ "Only those who dare to fail greatly can ever achieve greatly."

It's a pure punt, but if Ronaldo goes to Real Madrid and Rooney picks up another injury early in the season Then 66/1 for SAF looks like a great price. 50/1 for Arsene Wenger could be another punt, he has been at arsenal for a long time and a poor start to the new season could easily see him replaced.

Hmmm,
I would most liklely go for Megson. Whats the odds on an Allardyce return to Bolton? Although Elmander looks like a good player, a poor start for Bolton looks sure to upset their fans like the scenes we saw last season at Reebok...
But then, like someone said, West Ham demand a lot, and I'm not sure if Curbishley will stay for long if he gets off to a poor start. |

in my opinion Elmander will struggle in the Prem, I just dont think he is that top drawer in my opinion, and that is one reason why I think Bolton will struggle because they are pinning their hopes on him and foreign strikers in first seasons hate pressure.
Has he signed anyway? On SSN they have list of transfers made by Prem clubs but he isnt their for Bolton, well he wasnt last time I checked. _________________ Read my Boxing blogs, previews of fights happening all over the World. Previews and tips on the wonderful sport of Boxing!
