UEFA Champions League Qualification is back with a few very interesting matches:
Rabotnicki Kometal v Inter Baku - 0:0 after first game, with all due respect to Azerbaijan football, I don't believe they can go through. Season hasn't started yet neither in Macedonia, nor in Azerbaijan, so there's nothing much to compare in teams' form. But to go through Rabotnicki must score, that's why I'm backing Rabotnicki @ 1.80 (seems, like a very nice bet to me).
Sheriff Tiraspol v FK Aktobe - 0:1 after first game don't leave much choice to Sheriff, they need to attack and score. Both Moldavian and Kazakh leagues are being played right now, Sheriff won their last 8 home games, Aktobe picked their last away win, after wasn't being able to win 3 away games. Backing Sheriff @ 1.55, but to be honest, Rabotnicki bet looks better to me.
What do you think about Sheriff game? Worth it? |

| 1st leg goal by penalty, equal chances to win for both actually. it is hard to play in Kazakhstan due to weather conditions. IMO moldovans should win at home |

| I do not have any idea about the Faroe Island football but NSI Runavik has a 7 of 7 loses in all time European matches. And I think Dinamo Tiblisi is strong enough to beat them again even they will be away team and do not need a win. |

Not a lot on today but this looks to have a fairly strong chance.
Finland Ykkonen
Hameenlinna v GrIFK Grankulla - Home Win - 1.66
Grankulla have really struggled in this division following their promotion from the Kakkonen and are having a poor season so far; 1 win, 2 draws and 7 defeats and away from home it is even worse, 1 draw and 4 defeats with only 3 goals scored and 13 conceded. Their one point came at Atlantis who themselves are third from bottom.
Hameenlinna are sitting midtable but are quite solid at home with 3 wins, 2 draws and 1 loss. They have drawn their last 4 but 3 of those were away at sides in the top half of the division. They should get back to winning ways again today. |

Dammit, just read a report of first match between Rabotnicki and Inter Baku. They say, that Baku were much much better side - they attacked whole game, hit the post twice and it's a miracle they haven't scored. Rabotnicki were really nothing team...
xyzmike, have you placed a bet on this league before? Your pick seems like a very nice to me, but I would really like to know, how much can you rely on this league's table? (for example, each MLS game is like playing roulette without knowing what have you bet on... ) |

Rabotnicki's key player Bojan Mihajlovic (defense) is injured (on the game in Baku) and will miss this game, but Vladimir Sekuloski is back after not playing (red card last season) and he has great influence on the rest of the team since he is more experienced of them all.
Both the coach and the players were very happy with the 0-0 draw in Baku, since everybody here in Macedonia thought that this young and yet to be established team of Rabotnicki will smoothly lose by Inter. They had enormous amount of luck in Baku, and they could easily lost by 4 goals.
I think that both teams will play on win today , since the players are not fit for 120 minutes game. Inter is very solid team, but if Rabotnicki manages to score first they will win the game. Otherwise i think it will be very hard to come from a goal down.
I want Rabotnicki to win, but i would not bet on them.
Hope that this was helpfull |

Hopefully I will be able to help all of you out with your bet ponderings
Llanelli +1.25 v Ventspils @ 2.12
Llanelli make the long trip to Ventspils in the second leg of the first qualifying round of the Champions League and I think they are in with a big chance of qualifying. They matched Ventspils in every area of the pitch last week and I expect another close match today with not much in it. Ventspils are very solid at home in the Virsliga but The New Saints were very unlucky in Latvia last year losing just 2-1 and I said last week I think this Llanelli team is better than that TNS side. One of the most famous sayings in football is It only takes a second to score a goal and if Llanelli have that one chance and put it away and then remain solid at the back then they will be facing SK Brann in the next round.
Draw in above match @ 4.5
Ventspils have not lost a home match since the 8th of November 2007 when they were beaten by Ljepajas Metalurgs, its a tough task for Llanelli to go their and win but I think they have a great chance of coming away with a huge draw. Ventspils were nothing special in my opinion they do have a top striker in Vits Rimkus and they are better than Llanelli technically, but not by much. Llanelli will have benefited a lot from that match last week and no doubting it will be difficult to score in Latvia but in Rhys Griffiths they do have a goal getter who is very much like Rimkus and Llanelli will be a danger from set peices. I really do hope Llanelli can grab an away goal or get the draw but I think its a reachable goal and they can go one better than TNS 2-1 defeat in Latvia last year.
Inter Baku +0.25 v Rabotnicki @ 1.62
I said last week this Inter Baku side are the best to come out of Azerbaijan for a long while, they look very competitive and they are an ambitious club going places. The signing of the very experienced Belarussian Valentin Belkevich signifies that and along with him they have made six very decent signings this summer. Inter dominated the match in Baku last week but really struggled to put their chances away, they had a tough time breaking Rabotnicki down but being the away side may suit them better tonight. Rabotnicki are a much changed side, I have never seen a championship winning team lose as many personnel as they have. Their manager has left them and so has many of their players, to me they dont look like they can compete in Europe. Inter will look at how Neftchi Baku have been playing in the Intertoto Cup as they have shows Azerbaijani sides can be competitive on an european stage and Inter will show that tonight.
FBK Kaunas -3.25 v Santa Coloma @ 1.97
It was very nice and easy for Kaunas in Andorra last week a 4-1 win and they can pretty much relax for this one today. But I think they will still give this Andorran side another hiding today and win 4 or 5-0. Kaunas have looked in teriffic form recently scoring plenty of goals, 13 goals coming in their last four home matches. Santa Coloma are just not good enough they wont be able to match a side of Kaunas calibre and it will be a comfortable win for the Lithuanians.
Sheriff Tiraspol to beat Aktobe @ 1.55
Tricky match to call in my opinion, I fancied Sheriff in Kazakhstan last week but they lost 1-0. Today though on their own patch I expect them to win and hopefully win well so that they advance to the next round. Sheriff have won their last nine home matches and have kept a clean sheet in five of their last six home matches. Aktobe have a very small squad and Kazakhstani sides always struggle on the road. Aktobe are a good example of that, they beat Mattersburg 1-0 in the first leg of their UEFA Cup tie last year but were beaten 4-2 in Austria and went out. Their form on the road is nothing to write home about either to be honest, two wins in their last seven away matches is not the best. Moldovans to win.
Dinamo Tbilisi to beat NSI Runavik @ 1.5
Dinamo won very easily last week in Tbilisi and I expect them to win today in the Faroes. Dinamo looked a very good side and had won the tie in the first 30 minutes. They have lost just one of their last nine away matches and they face a side that they are far better techinically and a team they should again beat comfortbaly. NSI have always struggled on the European stage like most teams from the Faroe Islands, they have lost all seven European matches they have played and expect it to be eight losses out of eight tonight. _________________ Read my Boxing blogs, previews of fights happening all over the World. Yes I quite often bet on the lower European leagues, there is sometimes real value. The league tables and stats for this division are pretty much like most leagues throughout the world for probability and reliability.
But as always nothing is guaranteed, surprise results will and do happen and bets will lose. |

I personally avoid friendlies like the plague as players really couldn't be bothered and you could have 6 subs at half time or some new formation etc.. UTD only drew with kaiser Chiefs for eg. If you can watch it in-play then you might get something useful like next goal but otherwise I'd stay well away. _________________ If you tied buttered toast to the back of a cat and threw it off a roof, what would happen?? | Yeah I might just have a look near the end of the games. Quite often they can end with draws but you never know |

I'm still recovering from all the goals that were scored in the last ten minutes in the games I had bets on on Sunday...it hurt
Today, well nothing stands out, just the usual suspects mentioned above.
I have Tbilisi to win -1 in the Faroes @ 1.92. Even though they are realistically through from the first leg, they should smack a few past the FI's.
Hameenlinna to win @ 1.7, purely down to the start their opponents have made to the season, I know nothing of the league, which will probably come back and bite me.
Finally, Ventspils to win @ 1.39. I'd be very surprised if Llanelli can win this one, given the small odds, its part of an acc. with the other two. |
