Surprised there's no thread up already for todays football but here goes:
Some short priced favourites in the U21 football in most cases they are worthy favourites.
Netherlands v Norway
Home win - 1.50 @ Bet365
Netherlands are the defending champions after beating Serbia in the 2007 final & Ukraine in the 2006 final. They are still managed by 65 year old Foppe De Haan and have still have some of the players that have served them well in past campaigns.
De Haan was unhappy with the Olympic campaign stating that some of the players who had made big money moves to major clubs were no longer hungry enough and he's jettisoned these from the squad, but it's still a very capable & talented squad.
A win at home tonight will see them top the group and will ensure they avoid a 'winner-takes-all' match in Switzerland Tuesday night against the only side that can stop them qualifying. Netherlands only loss came at home to Switzerland last time out and they beat tonight's opponents, Norway, 1-0 in Oslo last season.
Norway have won 1, drawn 1 and lost 1 on the road in this group, losing in Switzerland and drawing in Macedonia.
Italy v Greece
Home win - 1.44 @ Bet365
Again another home side if they win tonight guarantee a playoff spot by topping their group, thus avoiding a 'winner takes all' clash in midweek with their group rivals, Croatia, away from home.
Casiraghi & Zola take charge of the Italian U21's these days and they have been very succesful. They have 7 wins and a draw out of 8 qualifiers in this group and they has managed the majority of these players to success in the Toulon tournament in France in the summer.
The side is home to the most promising youngsters in Italy and none more than Sebastian Giovinco who plays for Juve. Voted MVP at the Toulkon tournament is highly regard in his homeland and is seen by the Juve fans as the natural replacement to Del Piero when he retires.
Greece got a 2-2 draw at home, against the Italians, earlier in the campaign and could only draw 1-1 in Albania last month as their chances of qualification became slim.
Libya v Ghana
Double Chance 1X - 1.83 @ Paddy Power
This is a World Cup qualifier.
This bet caught my eye Tuesday after seeing odds of 4/1 on Betfair for the Libyans. Now there is a Double Chance market with Paddy Power so I'll be having a bit on the Libyan/Draw.
The Libyans are very strong at home and only lost twice in the last 20-odd games. They have beaten all the major African Nations in Tripoli in this time, including Cameroon & Egypt, and there only losses came against Uruguay and Nigeria in a friendly.
They are currently level with Ghana at the top of the group and Ghana have failed to beat Libya in 3 previous meetings in Tripoli. Libya have been preparing for this match intensively with three recent friendlies beating Chad & Niger whilst drawing 0-0 with Senegal.
Ghana will be without the services of Lyon's John Mensah & Rennes' Asamoah Gyan through injury but Stephen Appiah is back in the squad after missing the African Nations at the beginning of the year and they are also under new stewardship, after Le Roy left in the summer. For new coach, Milovan Rajevac, this will be his first competitive game and they can afford to draw the game to remain top of the group on GD.

Kazakhstan U21 v Spain U21
Spain are 5/6 to win by 2 or more goals, and are 4/6 half time full time.
They beat them 5-0 already and I really don't have to say alot to see value in these. Spain U21's are miles ahead in class to Kazakhstan.
Winning by two or more goal at 5/6 is great value in my eyes.
Eeven thought Spain u21's have guaranteed a play off place they will want to secure therem position at the top ahead of the russains. |

Some great posts so far today guys...
I will be taking Holland and Italy, but would like to see the team news of the Spain game...That seems a very good price for a team miles ahead in class and maybe they no soemthing we don't such as resting players or players not travelling...
The other 1 i will be adding in it is Maidenhead Utd v Newport County
Maidenhead Lay 2nd and will go top with a win tonight above AFC Wimbledon... They have started well and score a lot of goals, especially at home.
Newport have had a poor start and lie in 16th position, they conceed a lot of goals and have only found 1 win so far this season. Also they played on Wed night, yes 2 days ago and now play tonight!!

I think theres some really good value in the Dutch Jupiler league tonight when Den Bosch travel to Cambuur Leeuwaarden.
The host are top of the League but Den Bosch have a great record against them in the last few years (Theyve won 14 of the last 15 meetings going back to 2000)
The Price is around the 7/2 mark which is MASSIVE!!!
good luck with your selections folks |

| Yeah, it's pretty bad in the North of England so expect quite a few games off in the lower leagues tomorrow. |

What do people think of Hereford v Swindon tonight...
Swindon have impressed me this season with Maurice Malpas getting the best out of his players...
Hereford have not started very well and find themselves in the bottom 3 after last seasons good form...
1 pt Swindon win
3pts Cox anytime goalscorer _________________ Winner of November '07 Racing Challenge..

| Hereford have had two promotions in the last 2 seasons. Think they over achieved last season and will probably go back down this. After all, Graham Turner has nothing to spend on new players. |

I too do not understand the price on the Cambuur game, going for small stakes on Den Bosch as I'm not familiar with the Jupiler league but good spot! Also on the Newport game, looks a good find. Thanks
Edit: Got on Den Bosch +1 AH at 1.53 on Bet365 |
