Welcome to February's Football One-A-Day Challenge which starts on Monday.
We are now in our 12th month
Prize Money as follows:
Winner - £10.00
Runner Up - £5.00
The competition is very simple
I will select one match per day from any league or cup competition anywhere in the World and you have to predict the following:
*1X2 – Who will win the match or will it be a draw
*HT/FT – Who will be winning at half time and full time or will it be a draw
*Overs/Unders – Will there be more than 2.5 goals scores or less
*Correct Score
In addition to predicting the above you will need to give at least 4 separate reasons as to why you have made the predictions on the basis that if you have predicted the home team to win that your other 3 predictions would reflect this.
You do not have to give 4 separate reasons for each prediction
Anyone that does not put any effort in and writes “X will win because I support them” etc or copies and pastes things from other sites will not be considered
*You may not edit your post at anytime
*All scores are 90 mins only extra time does not count
Scoring System:
1X2 – 10ts
HT/FT – 10pts
Overs/Unders – 5pts
Correct Score – 10pts
If you manage to predict all 4 correctly there will be an additional 15 points awarded
The person who gains the most points during the month wins; in the event of a tie we will have a single match playoff
The following template should be used for your predictions:
1X2 - Name of team to win or draw
HT/FT - Y/Y or X/Y or Draw/Y etc
Overs/Unders - Overs or Unders
Correct Score - 2-1 or 1-1 etc
Followed by your reasoning
Games will be posted by 7:00pm for the following day along with an up-to-date table. If there is no game posted by 7:00pm then anyone can pick a game and the first one posted will be the selected game.
Please keep an eye on this 1st post as all games will be posted here as well.
Upcoming fixtures are below:
Wed 24-Feb-10 > Champs League > CSKA Moscow v Sevilla > KO: 5:30pm
Thu 25-Feb-10 > Europa League > Sporting Lisbon v Everton > KO: 8.05pm
Fri 26-Feb-10 > Ger 1.Bundesliga > Schalke04 v Dortmund > KO: 7:30pm
Sat 27-Feb-10 > Eng League 1 > Huddersfield v Leeds > KO: 12.30pm
Sun 28-Feb-10 (Final Day) > Eng Prem > Tottenham v Everton > KO: 1:30pm
If any game gets postponed on the day I'll alter the post to chose two matches on one of the days. Keep 'em peeled.
Good luck all and don't forget to tell all of your friends about it _________________ "Statistics are like mini-skirts .. they give you good ideas but hide the most important parts." > One-A-Day Football Challenge for January now open.

Bury v Rochdale
1X2 - Rochdale
HT/FT - Rochdale / Rochdale
Overs/Unders - Overs
Correct Score - 1-3
We start with a top of the table clash at Gigg Lane. Bury are 6-2-4 at home. Their goals for and against on average are just over one in each. Rochdale are top of the league and are 8-4-2 away with 30 goals scored and 14 conceeded. Rochdale also have two of the league's top four scorers in O'Grady and Dagnall. Weighing things up I reckon Rochdale will continue with thier good form and get an away win. They can extend thier lead over second placed Bournemouth by ten points. _________________ Royal Ascot 2009 3rd £25

Bury v Rochdale
1X2 - Rochdale
HT/FT - Draw / Rochdale
Overs/Unders - Unders
Correct Score - 0-1
Rochdale are comfortably ahead in League 2 but shouldn't find it easy at Bury who are unbeaten in 5. Other than once in November they have been tight defensively at home in recent times so I don't see it as high scoring. I think Rochdale should do enough in the second half to scrape a one goal win with the form they're in and quality of their squad. |

Bury are very strong team at home and they need points to presure the other teams in the LEAGUE 2

Bury v Rochdale
1x2: Bury
HT/FT: Draw/Bury
Under/Over: Under
Score: 1-0 Bury
Rochdale are the best side in the league on their day. However Bury can be just as talented in their play.
Bury have alot of experienced players like Sodje, Morrell, Bishop who can do a job for them.
Rochdale have slipped a bit by their standards late, although they still are in a lengthy unbeaten run.
Bury have improved their home form after starting season without many wins, they have turned Gigg Lane into a bit of a fortress. _________________ Keeps on plugging away in the hope something will pay off! |

Bury v Rochdale
1x2: Rochdale
h/f: Draw/Rochdale
o/u: Overs
score: 1-2
Rochdale top the league and look home and hose. Bury are in a play-off spot, but are 11 points behind. Rochdale haven’t lost in 11 games, 6 of those were away. They have also scored the most goals (30) in the league so far. Bury have scored in the last 11 games, so I fancy them to score today. Don’t think they will beat Rochdale though. Tough encounter with Rochdale ending up on top. |

Bury v Rochdale
1x2: DRAW
h/f: Bury/Draw
o/u: Under
score: 1-1
Even Rochadale are top of the league and thier away form (last 6: 4W2D) is impressive but away to Bury who are a ough nut to crack at home.
Bury last 6 hoem game : 5W1D is equally imprssive and with home advantage see this is a close match - possibler outcome is Draw will do justice for both teams. |

Crystal Palace v Wolves
1x2: DRAW
h/f: C.Palace/Draw
o/u: Under
score: 1-1
Last meet both fought to a 2-2 draw...the next 2 league games C. Palace won one home lost one away whereas Wolves drew both home and away.
This match will go into extra time or is it based on away goal. |

Bury are on a very good run at the moment and spirits are on a high! As Rochdale found out last week being held to a 0-0 draw against Port Vale its not all plain sailing when your top of the table and this 2 mile trip down the road to Gigg Lane will be probably their toughest game of the season up to now and home advantage should call the tune for Bury!
1x2 Bury
h/f x Bury
o/u over
score 2-1[/b] |

Palace are in and out at the moment and you cant really depend on them with confidence! Wolves are of the same mould firing hot and cold in the Premiership and that could be the difference here, the fact that Wolves have been there and done it so to say, so im taking Premiership experience to save the day.
1x2 Wolves
h/f x wolves
o/u over
score 1-2 |

1x2- Bury
HT/FT -Bury/Bury
Overs/Unders- Unders
C.S.- 2:0
I believe that home advantage will have a big effect in this match.Bury plays very good at home and he has a nice winning strike, last three games =9 points. In this match i believe that they expect all three points that should move them up the ladder. Althought the head to head matches are on Rochdale's side, but at the moment bury is better team. |

Bury v Rochdale
1x2:....................Draw
HT/FT:.................Rochdale/Draw
Under/Over:........Under
Score:.................1 - 1
Bury Fourth against Rochdale First and a 11point gap and a goal differance of 31 should suggest a away win for Rochdale with a run of 13 games underfeated although lately thats included some draws Bury to have had a great run too having not lost at home since September but have had 4 away defeats Bury at the moment in the last 6 games are top of the form table with 5 wins 1 draw Rochdale are 5th on form table with 3 wins and 3 draws everything seems to point to a draw here |
