That's right mate, and if I'm not mistaken you win more if they win by 3+?

If they win by 2 clear goals you will receive half your stake back and the other half goes on the odds you took.

If they win by 3 or more goals the full amount is staked on the odds you took.

Any other result will result in a loss.

The Asian Handicap can also be a useful gauge for experienced footie punters.
1) Sometimes if u come across AH which does not seem logical, then it’s time to do some research so that u can have an educated guess on what the outcome of a match. A recent example, UEFA Cup elimination stages- 2nd leg
Rapid Bucharest v Feyenoord AH -0.25
1st leg score was tied at 1-1, Feyenoord must score to win this match and proceed. The AH of -0.25 was too low for a team which must win (at least 0.5 should be more reasonable if the bookies thought that Feyenoord would proceed). Result: Rapid won to go thru.

2) For those who are looking for strong cornerstones for their accumulators, a quick review of the AH offered will give u an idea of the likely outcome of some matches. For example, if Inter can give Artmedia a head start of 1.5/2 goals, an upset will be in the viens of Artmedia losing by 1 goal or drawing the match. An Artmedia win will be too far fetched according to the bookies. What are the chances of a team giving AH of 2 or more actually losing a match? It happens but very rarely, so ur 1x2 bet should be rock solid.

3) If u believe that the Asians are the market movers of football betting, then it’s a good idea of monitoring the odds movement of the AH if u’re really serious in your footie bets. Hours before a match, u’ll have an idea of which team more Asians are on the AH, there will be some lag time for 1x2 (as these are 2 separate and distinct bet markets) to catch up so some value can be found. Yes, almost all footie bets in this part of the world are quoted in AH.

Hope my effort helps some ppl out there.

Great post...got me thinking..... where would u ideally moniter the changes is AH.... Betfair lets say???

u can try www.valuechecker.co.uk, u do not only get to see odds from quite a few bookies and exchanges, u can also monitor the changes to the odds by the hour. Win

Sadly the BF AH markets are quiet these days. They recently stopped their "introductory offer" of 1% commission on the AH and Total goals markets and many people are boycotting them.

The AHs do often offer value, and often change before Match odds markets do. Also, you can see the same bookie offering better value for the AH -0.5 than the 12X win for the same team e.g. Ladbrokes on monday had Liverpool at 2.00 AH -0.5 but only 1.80 for Liverpool to win in the Match Odds 12X market. Strange but true.

Alister, I think the England team is better with the likes of Heskey and Barry, but now with Rooney and Lampard back we know what is going to happen...McClaren drops the high performers and brings back in the underperformers in Rooney and Lamps. I'm expecting a disappointing 1-0 win myslef wouldnt touch the AH

Most value there is probably the draw as EST are capable of holding on to a 0-0 quite easily. 1.02 is unreal - I wouldnt touch that price if my life depended on it. No other bookmakers you can use?

It means half your stake is on -2.5 and the other half is on -3

If France win by 3 goals, half your stake wins, the other half is returned to you.

If France win by 4+ goals, your whole bet is a winner.

If France win by 1 or 2 goals, draw, or lose, the bet loses.

Is there a webste that has a guide for those pesky mixed AHs?

It can be very confusing for a newbie like myself.
