Yet another Fantasy Football game for you all to consider (Be gald it's not August, millions of fantasy footy games start then for some reason )
The MLS season is about to start in the States & ESPN are running a Fantasy Football game based around it. Usual caveat - this game is being run by ESPN. There are prizes, but not provided by OLBG.

Are you up to the challenge?
The fantastic FREE TO PLAY ESPNsoccernet Fantasy Football competition for MLS Primetime 2008 and thinks that they have selected a much better team than you could ever manage!
What do you reckon? Are they having a laugh? Can you prove yourself a better manager?
We thought so...
Here's what to do - click the link below to get started:
1: Go to http://mlsfantasy.soccernet.com
2: Click on Register and go through the registration and team selection process - it's totally free to play
3: Once you are on your team line-up page click on Mini League and type the following information in the Join A Mini League boxes:
League Name: OLBG Trans-Am League
Password: anotherfantasyfootygame Correction - the password is anotherfantasyfootyg

Yea, I couldn't be any more imaginative with the league password
The above quote is an edited form of the invitation email the site wanted me to send out - but seeing as I don't have the email address of all the fantasy footy followers, I thought I'd edit it & just whack it here.
Pretty easy game to play, unlimited transfers before the start of the season - eek, that's this weekend - and then you're only allowed 30 transfers over the season. That's the only major difference I can tell between this game & fantasy footy games run by other media types.
I was thinking about suggesting an informal rule about having to have an ex-Premiership player in your squad but then I realised you'd probably all just stick Abel Xavier on the bench _________________ "There's no such thing as a grown-up. By the way, my team is the East West Rangers. Possibly an idea to let everyone know who's who in the league. _________________ "There's no such thing as a grown-up. Tried to join and it wont let me, says -
"That Mini League is not recognised - please check your invite email and try again" _________________ Red Bull gives you wings.
Stoke and Hull better stock up on Red Bull then, as its the only way they'll get off the floor next season..... |

I do hope that it's not going to want me to email everyone with invites in order for them to join.
The automatically generated email isn't that great with phrases like "who's the daddy" etc and other Americanisms and such like. Nothing wrong with those, as such - indeed I'm a lover of many things American - but it's all a bit "Duuuude"ish if you ask me. Forced joviality is never good IMO.
Did you copy & paste the info from above?
*pause while checking something*
That is rather strange, I'm looking at the mini-leagues page. It says I'm in this league, but when I use the "join league" boxes it does indeed say that the league doesn't exist I can only surmise that it references email addresses with league invites but that all seems a bit odd. The only way to test it would be for you to send me your email address & I can invite you via the site & see if that works.
Edit - the password is anotherfantasyfootyg : Use that & hopefully it should work. _________________ "There's no such thing as a grown-up. We get bigger, we get taller, we get older. But, for the most part, we're still a bunch of kids, running around the playground, trying desperately to fit in." |

It works now, the correct password was key Wonder if we'll get any more interest in this, or if it will just be a 2 horse race Must say, picking a team was difficult, half my team probably wont play Shouldve paid more attention to player's names last season... _________________ Red Bull gives you wings.

You could always pay attention to the Poland v USA game tonight - then again, Fulham players won't count
I had originally put the password as "anotherfantasyfootygame" - obviously it was too long
It's all a bit of fun - and who knows, following this fantasy footy might help tide us over the close season & Euro's that we've no interest in _________________ "There's no such thing as a grown-up. papyrusmoon : Are you typing the information in exactly? The following is correct, copy & paste exactly the words in bold:
League Name : OLBG Trans-Am League
Password : anotherfantasyfootyg
It does work, honest I've just tried it again myself & no problems. _________________ "There's no such thing as a grown-up. We get bigger, we get taller, we get older. But, for the most part, we're still a bunch of kids, running around the playground, trying desperately to fit in." |
