Just a reminder to everyone that this is the OLBG Gettogether match
I suggest we go "all in" on a villa win
(only joking) |

This is the first game that I can see a reasonable bet for BOTW.
Astn Villa have been on top form at home and scored 34 goals...Wigan away have let in 34 goals! (Wigan now just about safe and Villa still going for 5th place)
I feel A Villa can win here by a couple of goals...so I quite like A Villa -1 at 7/5.
So far..looking like a tough week and this is a possibility imo. |

By rights the BoTW should really come from this match. Have fun if you are going!
Wigan showed at Chelsea that they are no pushovers, and painful FF experience tells me that Villa do concede. Both sides want the points, even if they will probably make little difference for either side realistically
A draw looks on the cards to me, but with Villa's brief goal dearth well and truly over,
5.50 score draw would be my suggestion |

I think taking 5th place makes a lot of difference. I will be absolutely amazed if Wigan get anything from this game - Villa are still scoring goals (17 in the last 4) and I think the margin of the win is where we could look on this game.

Very happy to see BOTW being mentioned already on this thread. Will give those OLBGers in the Villa box something to cheer about
I'd say Villa AH-1 @2.00+ (dont know where welshie saw 7/5?)
Wigan have poor away form and have disappointed in last 2 home games Villa on fire and did well to get a point at Everton. Villa need the win and should get it. Money back if its only by one goal.
Stake voting will be interesting this week |

Wigan away record 1-5-12. 2 away goals in their last 6 away games. (& Heskey managed 2 goals in one week not so long ago so won't score again till Winter!)
Villa are scoring for fun and from recent performances i see no reason why this won't continue. Villa far too much firepower for Wigan to get anythign from this. I'm with the "all-in" idea
1X2 - The lot on Villa
AH - Villa -1 at 2.03 (Bet365) a lovely bet & my real recommendation
Goals - Overs the call but too short seeing Wigan will probably get Zero. _________________ Steve |

Villa are still in great form at the moment producing great attacking football and Wigan, who have taken just 8 away points this season, will struggle to put the brakes on.
Villa are simply the better side, have home advantage and are in form. Wigan will scrap for points but Villa will surely dominate this one.
1. Villa win 7/12 little short
2. A/H Villa -0.75 3/4 possible
3. Over 2.5 but guessing
4. Villa by 2 or more 7/4
I think we need to take a bit of a chance here to recoup our losses after last week's disaster, so i'll go with John Mac's suggestion of Villa by 2 or more at 7/4 - well worth £400 punt imo. |

All arrows are pointing at the Villa game. As all ready said, it will give the lads at the day something to holler for (apart from more beer ) And AH is looking like a decent price in a weekend of abysmal odds!

Herby & John Mac. If the general consensus here is Villa will def win the game (if only betting was that simple!) i'm much more comfortable with £900+ on AH-1 at Evens than say £400 on "by 2 or more goals" at 7/4. The AH -1 is nil loss in my mind - ok, Wigan theoretically could scupper that theory of mine.
Although in defence of your bet (& bringing more hard facts into a thread that's already got lots already!) only 3 of Villas 10 home wins have been by a one goal margin. _________________ Steve |

If we went to the final BOTW with both of those we could see the "any bet except Villa" options split the vote and end up with a no-bet on the Villa game. Now that would be heart-breaking wouldn't it.
I wonder if the rules could be bent slightly and we do both bets but voted for as one bet. E.g. 60% of the voted for stake on AH-1 and the other 40% on "by 2 goals or more".
Can anyone see what I am getting at?

I very much fancy AVL's chances here. They were a bit unlucky last week but I reckon against a team like WIG they can win comfortably.
AVL to win
