people may view my position as biased but the fact is that i have recommended opposing fulham at most times throughout the season, and have only been backing them on rare occasions.

fulham have now won two away games in a row, against reading and the incredible comeback against man city. having beaten birmingham 2-0 at home, they know that a win against portsmouth will pretty much secure safety.

there is a huge feel-good factor around craven cottage, all of the players are buzzing. there are two key players here - bullard and mcbride. it's no coincidence that fulham's form has picked up dramatically since they've both returned from injury.

when looking at the fixture run-in a few months back, i was thinking that an away game at pompey would be one of the worst possible fixtures to have on the last day, but the fact is that pompey's home form has been below par throughout the season, and they seem to have one eye on the FA Cup final, just a few days after this match.

usually i would not buy into the 'must win' factor, but i think that in 'do or die' situations, it has to be taken into account. current price for the fulham win is about 2.2 and i think that it's pretty good value.

i think it will be a tense match with plenty of drama, so i think that dutching HT/FT draw/fulham and portsmouth/fulham might be worth a punt rather than going for the straight win.

Best 1X2 bet: Fulham
Best AH bet : Fulham -0.5
Best Under/Over bet: Under 2.5 goals
Best Other bet : McBride AGS, HT/FT draw/fulham

BEST BET : Fulham win

Fulham are on viagra at the moment (see al fayed quote for details!) and Portsmouth will no doubt be resting a few players before the FA Cup final. they haven't played great over the last few games and Fulham needing a win to give them a chance to stay up will be gunning for this victory.

I am however a bit dissapointed at the price of 2.1 for Fulham to win and don't see that in any way as value away to a side like Portsmouth. I was expecting 3's and the chance to go for an AH 0 Handicap but having just seen these odds i've been completely put off this game.

1x2: Fulham
AH: Fulham -0.5
overs/unders: Under 2.5
Other: McBride anytime scorer

overall NO BET, NO VALUE

Hi

2nd choice game and i'm going to suggest another Fulham upset here.

Who'd have thought the Cottagers could get out - but they almost have probably thanks Al Fayed's rantings and a nice little bonus if they do!!

Pompey are now focused on FA Cup glory. Redknapp has never won this and it would be the jewel in his crown. This is a really meaningless game for pompey - a few second team players may well get a run out - whereas it's all or nothing time for Fulham who will really be up for it.

Bearing in mind Fulham have only last 2 of their last 10 games at Pompey and they will be up for this one, they do look like a good bet. However a draw could ultimately suit both sides.

1. Fulham win 13/10 good chance
2. A/H not known but Fulham -1 around evens looks great
3. Under 2.5 but guessing
4. Correct score 1-0 Fulham - have a saver on 1-1 draw

I like Fulham straight win at 13/10 - but as it's the end of season game, i'm going to suggest Fulham 1-0 at 7/1 - worth a £100 punt and we'll keep the £1100/£1200 what's left in the kitty.

I think Fulham will pull of the great escape...but Ports won`t make it easy even if they have 1 eye on the Cup.

So I would suggest...Draw/Fulham as a fair bet with a chance at decent odds......around 9/2.

Fulham will not be throwing caution to the winds from the start as they certainly do not want to go a goal behind.

They can keep it tight until the 2nd half...and then go for the win.

BEST BET....DRAW/FULHAM (around 9/2)

Portsmouth will have one eye on the cup final and would not want to risk injuries to key players. Fulham have just hit form at the right time. I decided to go for the AH bet.
Best 1X2 bet:Fulham
Best AH bet :Fulham
Best Under/Over bet:Under 2.5
Best Other bet :

Agree with some of the previous posts, Fulham are one of the form teams at the moment and Portsmouth aren't (cup final watching). If Portsmouth do rest players though this could well work against Fulham as 2nd choice players do have something to play for - a possible cup final appearance even if it is from the bench.

Agree with this - Fulham are Evs favs in some places which is astonishing, even taking into account the circumstances, and this pushes me towards thinking the draw or even a Portsmouth win as being the value bet. Last 4 have been 1:1, 1:0, 4:3, 1:1 supports this although circumstances ar different. So, this makes it a difficult decision.

12X - Draw 3.6 at Bet365 (could well be enough for Fulham, away win no value)
AH - odds not avail at present
goals - over 2.5 Evs
Other - Fulham are 10-1 to win from behind at Boylesports (Portsmouth 14-1), a possible as an ousider given Fulham's recovery at Man City, although I think the odds are on the short side.

pompey are 40/17 best and fulham 6/5

there's a simple reason for this... fulham need the win, pompey dont.. fulham have recent form, pompey dont, fulham can now win away from home, pompey aint great at home... etc

desperate v comfy and looking at a cup final ? only one bet for me and thats fulham WIN all the way
