Hi guys
My first choice bet again - and Manchester United will be eyeballs out to win this one. Final game of the season and they must win to be sure of the premiership.
Wigan won't make it easy having already drawn with Arsenal Liverpool & Chelski and a dramatic return to form at Villa last week.
It could be a tougher game than expected, but United should prevail by 1 or 2 goals. Wigan have a better than average chance of holding on until half time.
1. Man Utd win 1/4 too short
2. A/H Man Utd -1 8/11 worth considering
3. Under 2.5 but guessing
4. H/T draw F/T Man Utd good value at 4/1
The A/H bet looks rock solid - but i'm going to suggest doing H/T F/T scorecast to £200 to win £800. If we win we boost the kitty up to over £2k - and if we lose we still have £1k to share. |

Wigans win at Villa puts them totally safe now so they have nothing to play for.
As much as Im sure theyd like to put on a good show for the home fans and show that they are a team that can influence who wins the title, Im not sure there is enough motivation at the end of a long season for them to go the extra mile that would be needed to keep united out.
Then again this is a tense match for United and it would not be surprising if the pressure led to them underperforming. Theres nothing like pressure to make a good team play lethargically. If they dont get a goal early then that is only going to build more and they will become increasingly desperate .
And finally there is Steve Bruce. An former long serving united player and captain and a person thought of as an eventual United manager himself one day. Does he really want to be the one to ruin uniteds season. Of course he'll try to win, but with 10 minutes to go an Wigan trailing by one, will he throw on a couple of strikers to desperately grab an equaliser or settle for a hard fought narrow defeat and be glad they havent ended the season with a heavy defeat
So it looks like a united win but with a risk of them not getting an early goal and settling I dont think the straight win or AH are great value. |

I have to disagree with the above post...I think M U will come out all guns firing and want to settle the nerves well before half-tme.
Wigan won`t be busting a gut.....and H/t F/t Man Utd looks very solid to me....however...at 8/13 on...it`s a question of is it worth risking a big stake...
I do prefer the -1 option as I think Utd will win by at least 2 goals.
BEST BET...M UTD-1 (no idea of odds yet...may not be worthwhile) |

Man Utd 2-1 @ 8.50
As outlined in the overall and Chelsea threads, I think the value in this last week is in looking for a correct score with 261.75 stake.
1000 in the bank if we lose
2500+ if we win
I think both Chelsea and Man U should win, so it makes sense to me to concentrate on these two games
Personally I think Wigan will score (5.50 to score first!) and make it hard for the champions, who will prevail in the end (possibly late on)
That's my 2 pence - what do you chaps think? |

Absolutely no value in backing MU here. The dreadful Wigan pitch will not suit MU's normal passing game and flair players.
There may be value in backing against MU but only if you feel that MU Legend Steve Bruce's team, who have nothing to play for, will be highly motivated to spring a surprise? Unlikely.
Hopefully MU win easily but for me its a very big SWERVE |

| Final game of the season, and may I just say what a thoroughly interesting and enjoyable season it has been partly due to this forum and all the different betting suggestions, stats and ideas from all the members who contributed. Im sticking with the most talented, consistant and most deserved to be champions Manchester United to easily win their final game. But from a betting point of view 1x2 is not worth looking at, the a/h maybe but imo we should go out in style and go ALL IN on WAYNE ROONEY AGS 2.5 (William Hill) I cant think of anyone or anything better at those odds to give us a chance of ending up with a nice amount in the bank. LET IT ROLL! |

Wigan's dodgy pitch, plus their improvment under Bruce in terms of Big4 performances where they always used to lose makes this a tougher game for United than it could have been. I think Wigan will perform honestly and do thier best to get a result, but I do think United will win, and I think they'd happily settle fr a 1:0 win.
Dunno if we have any Utd fans who can remember typical Utd performances in away games to win titles who could give us some insight?
12X - away win 1.2 no value
AH - Wigan +1.75 at better than Evs (bet wins if Man U win by 1)
goals - under 2.5 at 2.3 (covers 0:1 and 0:2 - Utd happy)
Other Man U 1:0 win 7.5 or better best bet |

Like my thoughts last gameweek.
Man United will win this one. No doubt in my mind. Absolutely no doubt at all. But WIG put on a great show last week defeating AVL by a scoreline of 2-0. So I reckon Man United won't trash them the same way they did to WHU.
1x2- Man United
AH- Man United -1/1.5
O/U- Unders
Others- Ronaldo AGS _________________ Now making money isn't everything but havin it is. |

on paper, the easiest one this weekend.
1) i have never heard of MU being chokers; when it comes to big games they will always deliver no matter how heavily they are bet on.
2) Ferguson should know Bruce inside out, so whatever Bruce throws at him, the Master will always outfox the Student.
3) 2 of Wigan's players are being pursued by Sir Alex, so this all important match is hardly the game to impress ur next gaffer. Moreover, Wigan has nothing to gain by winning this match as they are safe compared to MU who cannot even afford to draw (as Chelsea are at home).
4) Previous H2H show that MU have won all 6 H2H both home and away. What is more important is MU have won by 2 or more goals in 5 of the 6 H2H.
This should be MU all the way.
1x2- MU @ 1.2
AH- MU -2 @ 2.05
U/O- Over 3 goals @ 2
Best bet- MU AH -2 @ 2.05 _________________ EPL Big 4 AH record

Ipoh Shark
best post on here,
although i think his interest in Wigans 2 best best players isn't anymore than a distraction (for Wigan) knowing that they'd possibly have to go there and get a result for the title, Ferguson himself has been victim of other teams unsettling his players before now,
to be honest I can't see Heskey and Bent troubling Rio and Vidic that much, if SAF plays 4-4-2 then we'll win easy
