| Yes these are paid for tipsters between £10 and £100 per month but i don't mind paying for the info. In the last week i've had winners at 5/1,16/1,7/2,9/2,5/2,4/1,7/4,4/1,10/3,7/2,18/1,3/1 & 7/1 out of 37 selections. Maximum work 30 minutes per day. I had bought all sorts of books, courses, etc in 20 years and still had trouble finding decent priced winners. |

I have been betting on horse racing since a friend of mine put a few quid on Frankie's seven timer at Ascot. He had 6 of them doubles and upwards. I won a five-figure sum. Since then, I have had many ups and downs as I thought it was easy. It is not, it must be one of the most difficult things to try to do.
I now have very few bets and follow the same type of horses each flat season. Best result by far was backing Northlight for the Derby whilst he was still a two year old at 33 to 1. This year, 10 wins from 12 bets, but not enough to make a living though. Overall, am up since started keepinng records in 2000.
I also bet on premiership football. This was after someone introduced me to betting when Euro 1996 was on. Having followed football since a child I was surpised at the lack of knowledge that bookies displayed in that tournament. However, football betting has changed and I think winning has become harder. I now specialise on premiership football annd look for value. Most weeks I do not bet, but when I do I seem to find what I consider to be value with the mid-range teams such Everton, Villa, Portsmouth. Once again, very few bets.
Have only just found out about betting forums like this. Lots of good advice on these sites. These include
1. Look for value.
2. Specialise.
3. Never chase.
I would add
4. Do not stand in the bookies ever. Bet on the phone/internet.
5. Avoid festivals like Cheltenham, Royal Ascot, Galway. A 2 to 1 winner pays the same regardless of course etc.
6. Read magazines like the World Soccer.
7. Do not watch the Winning Line annd turn of the volume when watching C4 and BBC racing, other than to listen to the commentary.
8. Get to know the profile of types of horses that win certain races.
9. Eliminate losers rather than pick winners.
I think the post above regarding the need to keep betting objective is sound advise. I work as a researcher and I need to keep everything objective when working. The two roles are very similar IMO.
I am sure there are also many other factors required to make betting profitable. |

Gambling is so hard!!!!
I've been at it 22 years & what have I learnt absolutely nothng. My new tatic is to gamble on the opposite result to my prediction.
It seems to work wonders!!!!!
My tip - at least 90% of us lose so gamble expecting the worse & anything else is a bonus.
Luv ya all & bet carefully
Regards
Steve |

My gambling kinda funds my gambling, if that makes sense. If i have losses at the bookies i make them back on poker and vice versa. Not being a serious gambler i aim to break even. Last year i made a profit which i used to, shall we say, learn about other styles of betting.
My main bets are football, with a few bets on the nags and rugby league.
It keeps me happy and i only ever bet in what i guess are probably small stakes. Lets face it there are alot worse things to spend your pennies on in the big bad world.
And the best thing is my internet bets fund the following months bets and any "cash" bets that win fund the missus going shopping _________________ You really dont ever see a poor bookie do you... |
