Looks like Hamitton will start in tenth place after crashing out of the final qualifying phase at the Nurburgring He,s ok was giving the thumbs up when being taken to hospital he was given the all clare to race tomorrowJust read this from F1 Site
Quote:
The cause of the accident was a problem with the airgun used on the right front wheel during the pit stop immediately prior to the incident. The wheelnut could not be fitted properly and a second gun was needed to cure the problem. However, the wheel was subsequently still able to move enough to generate sufficient damage to cause it to fail.
So its Kimi Raikkonen, Ferrari who is 1st, 1m 31.450s also 2nd Fernando Alonso, McLaren 1m 31.741s And Felipe Massa, Ferrari 3rd 1m 31.778s on the grid. if hamilton get a podium finish this time it will be amazing and well worth being sportsman of the year Smile

Just had a quick look at the betting
Kimi Raikkonen 4/5
Fernando Alonso 11/5
Felipe Massa 5/1
Lewis Hamilton a big 40/1
Ladbrokes give 3/1 for a Hamilton Podium finish
Can Rubens Barrichello @10/3 on Ladbrokes get to be in the points finish hes 14th on the grid so he needs to get into 8th place, may be worth a little flutter

From the offical formula 1 website
Quote:
Hamilton suffered a right-front wheel failure at Turn Eight, his car bouncing over the gravel trap before impacting hard with the tyre wall

So it was not a tyre blow out but a wheel failure Rolleyes (Sarcasm) Still think he,s the best thing since sliced bread Very Happy hopefully they can fix his car or he will have to start from the pit lane

I dont see how anyone can blame Hamilton for that crash, you can clearly see the wheel go!

Regardless on the subject of "will Hamilton crack?" I advised backing against Hamilton for the world title about 3 GPs ago because he has no experience of this situation, and I stick by it. He has the weight of a country on his shoulders, and while theres no doubting his ability, the other racers chasing him have more experience in a title race.

Anyway back on topic to the actual race.

Raikonnen at 4/5 looks like a solid bet, but I wont be taking it. Raikonnen and Ferrari may be coming back into things, but Kimi has a habit of "dropping the ball", so I'm going to be looking at Alonso or Massa for the win.

Alonso knows that with Hamilton in 10th this is a great chance to really pile the pressure on Hamilton and get right back into the title hunt. 11/5 is a good price.

Massa on the other hand needs to start outpointing the other 3 (Alonso, Hamilton, Kimi) to have any chance of even being considered a genuine title contender. Hes 9/2 for the win which I think is a good eachway shot.

As for poor old Lewis, despite what Ive already posted many times about him not winning the title this year, I dont expect him to give up. No one would have expected to be able to get a storming 20/1 on Hamilton to win a GP anywhen soon, so to see it makes me wonder if its worth considering, even if only Each Way. I think it is. I've already said I think Kimi will probably drop the ball tomorrow, and if he does Hamilton should be able to take another podium place.

So in short -

Alonso win @ 11/5
Massa EW @ 9/2
Hamilton EW @ 20/1

Good luck all Fingers Crossed

I cant believe anyone can knock the kid for what he's achieved, just look at his record in GP2 and formula 3.

I watched qualifying and the camera in the car showed he was alright straight away and yhen I saw the piece on the news and felt they made a real drama out of it but thats what the media do. Along with the hype.

Just before the accident he was doing the fastest lap and it wasnt his fault the wheel gun failed to tighten the wheel. From where I'm sat he's handled the pressure well leading 3 GP's.

Anyway I think Raikkonen will win tomorrow 4/5 Coral
Hamilton to finish in the points (even if he starts from the pit) 4/11 Paddy Power
Barrichello points (especially if it rains) 10/3 Laddies

i thought raikkonnen at the start thinking ferrari had the best car and imho think that kimi is the best driver.
now i'm still favouring kimi slightly, it's defo between top 3.
usually who evers leading at this stage wins it, but hamilton isnt experienced though yer neva know.
