Decent event so far, a lot of shocks yesterday including Phil Taylor's exit in straight sets to Adrian Gray and Peter Manley throwing away 2 darts at double 10 and then more chances at double 2 before eventually losing to Mark Dudbridge, and another shock saw Andy Smith beat Ronnie Baxter in the opener. No real shocks on the second day so far, Lloyd, King, Wade, Scholten and Van Barneveld are all through to Round 2...
Anyone been watching this, a couple of players to interest me so far are Colin Lloyd, Barney and Andy Jenkins...
Lloyd has been quite poor recently, making a lot of exits in the opening round, but to beat a player like "The Menace" today must have given him real confidence going into a second round tie with Alan Tabern who nearly threw it all away in his opener, 8/1 to reach the final on Betfair looks good after he got past that first obstacle, and after showing some good form, but this would mean that he would need to overcome Barney along the way should he face him.
The Dutchman overcome fellow countryman Vincent van der Voort in 3 sets to reach round two, with the 3 games in the second which he lost being the only games dropped in the match, hitting some big finishes to win the match of 118, 147 and 111, now shorter than 2/1 to win the tournament outright and is a rightful early pacesetter.
The other half of the draw looks more difficult after the early result, but now it looks set to be one of Jenkins, Lewis and Part to be the other finalist...
Andy Jenkins was the best performer for me, he had the entire Irish crowd against him in the match as he faced Jason Barry a local qualifier, and hit some great 3 dart throws along the way...
It looked like it may have been over as this game went to a deciding leg and Barry started well, but Jenkins threw the leg of the match to take the game and progress, a win which saw him overcome the pressure of playing "away" to win the match...
Any one else have a following in the world of Darts? _________________ Top Football Tipster June 2006

Yes, I love a bit of the Darts myself. More of a PDC man though it has to be said but the Grand Prix is a decent event. This year is proving to be quite a classic already could be some upsets I reckon. Terry Jenkins is my man to watch - came back from 1 down to win 2-1 in his last match, and always a character in these events doesn't slip up all too often. _________________ PLAY UP POMPEY |

I think I've just seen the most misses on a double , Dudbridge v Jenkins, Dudbridge missed 7 doubles, Jenkins missed 5, quite incredible...
Andy Jenkins taken the first set against Dudbridge, really liking the way he is throwing 3 darters at the moment, managed to get him matched @ 42 for the tournament on Betfair. I think he is definately one to watch, has the ability to pile on the pressure when it comes to big games
Not to be mistaken for Terry Jenkins... Andy is the highest ranked player not to make a major final, hopefully luck will be on his side here. Wouldn't mind a Jenkins, Lloyd final too be honest _________________ Top Football Tipster June 2006

Has anyone just seen that match? What a great comeback, 501, played 231, and Dudbridge stormed back to win the match, great advertisement for the game of Darts, hope to see more like that during the rest of the week _________________ Top Football Tipster June 2006

| two successful bets for me tonight on the darts after a disastrous day. my total account balance went down to a massive 10p after a load of unsuccessful bets today. couldn't believe it. anyway as a challenge i have decided just to try and win my way back up to a good amount of money without depositing any more money into my account. i decided to start off putting all of the massive 10p on Terry Jenkins to beat John Part tonight. I backed him in play when he was 1-0 down on sets and got a very good price of even money in the end. so i doubled my total account balance. with 20p now in the account i decided to stick half of that on john wade with a 1.5 set start to beat barneveld tonight. i got on slightly in play and again got a price of even money. so there we go again doubled my stake i now have a massive 30p in my account. |

Bad luck steliam, we all have those bad days, you'll bounce back
Has to be Wade to win now, especially after the way he destroyed Barney tonight. I was on Barney outright and knew it would be a tough match, but Wade was class tonight. So close to a 9 darter too. I dont see any way Jenkins can win if Wade is on song. _________________ The only dedicated snooker betting blog on OLBG! -> Click here |

completely agree BETKING. didn't have time to post about wade's chances over barney yesterday, and given such a performance i can only see one winner. i don't think anyone would begrudge jenkins the win but i can't see him coming near wade. the 8/15 looks solid. _________________ top rugby tipster april 2007 |

not sure Terry Jenkins can beat anyone on his day, to be honest I definately wouldn't write him off. Not going to touch this one as James Wade could win this so could the Bull _________________ PLAY UP POMPEY |
