Lewis Hamilton and Kovalainen, plus McLaren test driver Pedro de la Rosa tested the new car for the first time today. The story is on the bbc sport website. They all liked the feel of the car and mentioned it was a promising start.
Lewis Hamilton @ 2.75 although Fernando Alonso @ 8 could be a decent punt, depending on what car Renault put out next season.
McLaren are also 2.75 to win Constructors title... Get your bets on early folks |

I haven't had a chance to have a proper look at this seasons cars/drivers so once i do i will post up my feelings, i do however feel that Robert Kubica will have a good season and i will be watching Nelsinho Piquet & Timo Glock with interest.
Heikki Kovalainen
I was impressed with him last season when he was making his F1 debut for Renault, he has now moved over to McLaren to partner Lewis Hamilton, the thing which impressed me the most and least about him was his qualifying which was not good, the highest he qualified was sixth place on the grid, but he nearly always made up places during the race, he only finished on the podium once when he finished 2nd in Japan and that was after starting 11th on the grid, also impressive in Canada when he started 22nd on the grid and finished 4th, on average of the 16 races he finished he made up just over 2 places, he is very good at spotting overtaking opportunities and now in a much better car i can see him having a very good season alongside Hamilton, not sure wether he can win the championship but he is one to watch out for especially in the Japanese & Canadian grand prix. |

What odds are Ferrari to win the constructors championship? And what odds are Massa/ Raikennen for the Drivers?
EDIT: Found them, Massa at 5/1 looks a decent bet to me, he could easily have won last race in Brazil and if it wasn't for car problems i would have thought he would have won last year.
Liking the odds on Button for Each Way bet, Honda have signed Ex-Ferrari surpremo Ross Brawn and with his expertise i can see them really improving and the 50/1 shot at an Each Way could be worth a small punt? Can you bet for 5th or 6th position in an Each Way anyone know?
Im expecting better from Honda this year thats for sure, Hamilton blew it this year and i can't see him winning it. Massa is my bet! |

Lewis Hamilton @ 2.75
I don't want to jinx the man but this year should be his. His price could half in 2/3 races. |

Ive posted blogs where I expect Hamilton and McLaren to prevail in their respective championships, and Heidfeld to prevail without Ferrari and McLaren.
Ive also added an F1 blog with all my tips, and will update it for each race, which can be found here - http://www.online-betting-guide.co.uk/blogs/tipster_blog.php?t=betking&id=24549

Australia 16-03-08
Mark Webber Podium Finish
Having posted a good practice session lap time (second fastest in the second session behind Lewis Hamilton)I am going to take this price now (6/1) before qualifying as it could tumble considerably if he gets a good position on the grid. Aussie Webber would be delighted to make the podium on home soil and i think he may well pull it off.
Update>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>
Well that is not looking too good now, coming off the track in qualifying is never a good way to achieve a good position on the grid
Kimi Raikkonen Fastest Lap
Just think that the Ferrari will be quickest on the day and that Kimi will nail the fastest lap.
Will post my choice of outright winner following qualification tomorrow morning>>>>>>>>>>
Have gone with Lewis Hamilton to win and should have trusted my instinct yesterday when he was available at 9/4
Also had a cheeky interest in Coulthard to finish on the podium @ 20/1, he is 8th on the grid and the Redbull cars have been doing OK in testing and practice
>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>, well got the winner right at least _________________ Good Luck With All Of Your Bets

What a cracking start to the season!
This season is really gonna seperate the men from the boys thanks to the new rules, Lewis was just superb today, he was faultless and done all he needed to win the race, there were only 6 or 7 cars that finished the race, Barrichello was disqualified for ignoring a red light as he left the pit lane, Kovalainen was unlucky with the safety car coming out at the wrong time which ruined his chances of 2nd place after looking solid there and also you have to feel sorry for Sebastien Bourdais who was making his debut in the Toro Rosso and was running in 4th place with three laps to go but he had an engine problem and was forced to retire however he still managed to pick up 2 points without even finishing, cracking race and i can't wait till the next.
Oh yeah and DC's interview after going was quality |
