Can anyone give any indication of where I can find out info on a particular horses racing style, as I hate watching a horse I've backed tearing away only to run outr of steam at the death!
Also, when reading through this part of the forum, I saw that LLAAYYSS has a spreadsheet that details course types, etc. If anyone could forward this to me I would be very grateful.
I did try to PM, but as i'm a new member I'm a social leper til my checks have cleared!
fommytarr@hotmail.com if anyone would be so kind
Feel free to drop any other useful info that may be of use.
Cheers |

You certainly dont have to pay to find a horses running style, its all there in the form if you take the time to read through it.
The racing post has results of every race a horse has participated ion, and if you look at the comments in running you can judge for yourself the style in which they run. _________________ [b]My Blogs

Cheers dancing and manobong
Always good to add to the knowledge bank anytime I can!
You couldn't shed any light on the jockeys claiming weight can you anyone, as this still confuses me a little (along with handicapping in general, though i'm slowly getting there!)
Thanks for any help |

Hi wiseman
Yes the RP is probably the easiest way. take the 3:40 at Bath today Merry Madcap was 2nd last time out. Click on the horse in the race card and it brings up all the previous runs of the horse as follows:-

In this day and age does any-body agree that a horses actual weight should be displayed in form guide ? I mean it would'nt take much to put in form guide horses optimum weight/ actual weight then us punters would have more of an idea if horse is fit , or in need of a run . Every little helps and i feel this could . |

the best way is to watch the race if you can and take your own notes. If not possible, the results section on the racingpost website has a comprehensive write-up of each race and you can also select comments in running which gives individual analysis of how each horse ran in the race. The time of the race and how it compares to standard will give you an overall idea of whether it was fast or slowly run, but beware that ground conditions can affect the time. _________________ DONT LET YOUR FAVOURITES FLIP-FLOP!

| hi ive posted on another thread already but admin has said post it here, what i would like to know is about horse form can anyone tell me on the racing post website its got a column about top speed. Does this matter or is the RPR more important.Or any other advice which i should take not of |
these are not official ratings but devised and created by the journos that work at the racingpost - they work in much the same way as people on here who may have their own systems for selecting horses. they are just different ways of assessing a horses ability and should be used with all your own knowledge to help you select the nag that you are sure is going to win but sods law ends up finishing 10th!!! _________________ DONT LET YOUR FAVOURITES FLIP-FLOP!
