How To Enter

From our list of 500 horses, select any 10 to follow in Flat races during the competition – Saturday 24 May to Saturday 18 October 2008 inclusive.

Each list of ten horses costs £10 to enter and you may enter as many lists as you wish.

This year you will also be able to ADD TWO FREE BONUS SELECTIONS in each entry during the ‘Bonus Window’, with points then scored by the best 10 of your 12 selections counting.

Entries must be received by 8.00pm BST Friday 23 May – our website experiences very high traffic during the final hours before competition entry closing, and whilst we endeavour to accommodate the volume of traffic at this time, we cannot guarantee that you will be able to successfully access the service. We therefore recommend you place your entry well before the closing date to avoid disappointment.

Placing Your Entry

Previous Online Entrants – select ‘Login’ and then enter your Tote Ten to Follow Username & Password to access your details.

If you have mislaid your Username or Password, e-mail your Full Name and Post Code to Tote@Tote.com and we will advise you.

New Online Entrants – select ‘Register’ and then complete the details required, including your chosen Username and Password, then follow the instructions to view the horse list and place your entry, then pay with your Bank Card or Credit Card.

You will be able to monitor your entry online and will also have the opportunity to add your Two Free Bonus Selections during the Bonus Window.

Mini Leagues

Online entrants - friends, families or Pubs and Clubs can set-up their own private mini-leagues, where in addition to being entered in the Tote Ten to Follow competition you will also be able to view your own private Leader Board containing the scores and positions of the other entries in your mini-league.

To set-up a mini-league you will firstly need to appoint a member of your group as the organiser, who when completing their entry online, will need to register a name for the mini-league. The name of your mini-league should be different to the Username/Password registered to access your own individual entry details.

After completing an entry in the competition, the organiser will be provided with a unique eight digit code which will be required to view the mini-league. The organiser can then advise the eight digit code to other members of the group who will need to input this code when making their online entries.

Free Bonus Horses

During the competition you have the opportunity – at no extra cost – to ADD TWO FREE BONUS SELECTIONS to your original list, and the highest scoring 10 horses from your twelve selections* will then count as your entry.

The Bonus Window for additional selections opens at 9.00am BST on Sunday July 13th until 6.00pm BST on Friday July 18th, during which time you will have the opportunity to add two more selections in each list from the original list of 500 horses. There is no additional cost involved to add your Bonus selections.

*Points scored by Bonus selections qualify for points from Saturday July 19th - the day following the close of the Bonus Window.

ONLINE ENTRIES: Add your free Bonus selections online at www.Tote.co.uk.

PHONE ENTRIES: Register online at www.Tote.co.uk with your PIN and add your free Bonus selections online.

POSTAL ENTRIES: You will be sent a copy of your entry to add your free Bonus selections. Your completed form must be returned to us to arrive by no later than 6.00pm BST on Friday July 18th. Should you mislay your Bonus selection form, further copies priced at £5 each (including p&p) can be obtained from Tote Ten to Follow - telephone: 0800 666 160.

Please Note: Bonus selections cannot be made online for postal entries.

Scoring

Selections score points when winning Flat races under the Rules of Racing (excluding NH Flat races) in Great Britain and Ireland or Group races in France, Germany and Italy or Grade One Stakes races in North America during the period of the competition, 24th May – 18th October 2008.

When you add the two FREE additional selections during the ‘Bonus Window’ it is the TEN highest scoring horses in each entry of twelve horses which count.

Winning selections are awarded points as follows:

25 points Group One/Grade One race
20 points Group Two race
15 points Group Three race
12 points Listed race
10 points other races

In the event of a dead-heat, points will be divided by the number of horses dead-heating with fractions rounded down. No points for a walkover. The official result on the day will be final with any subsequent disqualifications disregarded.

Bonus Races

An additional 25 points will also be awarded to the winner and 12 points to the runner-up in each of the following races:

Any of the above races re-scheduled to take place outside the dates of the competition will not count.

Bonus Points

According to the official Tote / Pari-Mutuel win dividend odds including a £1 unit stake, will be awarded to winning selections as follows:

£4 to £7 4 points
Over £7 up to £11 7 points
Over £11 up to £16 11 points
Over £16 up to £22 16 points
Over £22 up to £29 22 points
Over £29 up to £37 29 points
Over £37 37 points

In the event of no Tote win dividend being declared, the Starting Price will determine any bonus points. Should neither a Tote win dividend nor a Starting Price be returned, bonus points will not apply.

Rules

This competition is offered by the Horserace Totalisator Board (referred to as “the Tote/us/we/our” in this advertisement) whose Head Office is at Douglas House, Tote Park, Chapel Lane, Wigan, WN3 4HS.

Entrants must be aged 18 or over and entries are accepted subject to age verification. If the age of the entrant cannot be subsequently verified, the entries concerned will be void.

Members of staff (or their immediate families) of the Tote or the Racing Post are not eligible to enter.

The names of winners / leaders will be published in the Racing Post and at www.Tote.co.uk. Any disagreement with the published list must be made in writing and received within five days of the publication date at: Tote Ten to Follow, PO Box 116, Wigan WN3 4WW, or by e-mail at: Tote@Tote.com. Claims received after this 5-day period, or telephone enquiries, will not be considered.

We reserve the right to refuse to accept or disqualify any entries which, in our sole opinion, do not comply with any of the information stated herein. In all cases the decision of the Tote is final.

Once accepted by us, entries are non refundable.
