Quietly confident with all of these this evening and hopefully they can finish off an already good day on a high. Wink

The Ethiopian (5:25) Clonmel * was impressive when winning on the flat at the Galway festival last year on his final start for Aidan O Brien and was thrown in the deep end on his hurdling debut in a Grade 1 contest at Leopardstown but he aquitted himself extremely well as he wasn't beaten far back in 3rd behind Won In The Dark and Indian Spring. His next two runs were disappointing to say the least but it was at the time Noel Meade's yard were under a cloud and with the trainer back in full swing these days the selection can be expected to run more like he did on his first start. This doesn't look a strong maiden hurdle and he should take all the beating. On a side note, unrelated to betting, it would be a popular winner here this evening as the head of the syndacite that owns him sadly passed away in the last few days and his funeral was earlier today.

Coolgreaney (5:55) Clonmel * pulled up on his latest start but that was in the Grade 1 Champion Chase at the Punchestown festival contested by some of the leading Irish chasers and won by the talented Twist Magic. The selection was a big outsider that day but he is a talented individual in his own right having won twice in Grade 3 company over fences and he could turn out to be a huge price here back over hurdles off a mark of just 107 as he has conditions in his favour - well worth a bet this evening. NB

Little Lu (6:00) Wetherby * very solid bumper form to her name including two victories and she made a very pleasing start to her hurdling career when runner-up to Schlem over 2m1f at Sedgefield 2 weeks ago. The pair has pulled a mile clear of the rest that day in what was a decent enough race and with improvement expected she can go one better here.

Avant Gardiste (6:20) Wincanton * Seems to like it round here and won well over C&D last time for today's amateur jockey. He's turned out again quickly under a penalty and is officially 7lb well-in here as he is due to go up by that amount in future handicaps. One a few can be given any chance here and he should take all the beating if in the same mood as last time.

My Valley (7:55) Clonmel * landed a double on the flat at Galway last year over this trip and then won his next start over hurdles at the same venue. He finished runner-up to the well regarded Megans Joy next time before finishing down the field when up against in a Grade 1 contest and then unseating his rider next time when still in contention. His three latest runs have been respectable enough in my opinion as they were all very competitive and he ran well enough each time in my view. He reverts back the flat this evening and with Declan McDonogh booked for the ride in what looks a pretty weak handicap he looks a great bet at the current odds of 11/4.

best of luck,

Deco.

agree with coolgreaney deco, but not confident enough to tip here, but have done my valley, and another one in ireland..

7.25 Idle Journey
Won two races at Dundalk over the winter, has had unsuccessful spin over hurdles to keep motor running. Todays ground will suit him well as from 7 runs on this type of ground he has 2wins and 3 3rds. Todays track should suit his style and fancy a punt on him

7.55 My Valley
In fine heart and getting weight off main rival, not full of speed but a decent sort who goes well, the faster ground could be key to this one as it suited him over hurdles, galway suits his style as it doesn’t demand pure pace, and clonmel from my experience can provide a simliart test. And kept ready by going jumping he should be very fit for this.
