|
I'll kick things off today then, but we'll have to wait till 4.10 to get started with mine.
4.10 Nottingham
MELODRAMATIC
I think this one is a very good horse and certainly one to watch through the season. Has its first run out of the way and Charlton broke his duck with Proponent last weekend.
4.20 Lingfield
DANSEUSE VOLANTE
I think the mark of 70 this one has been allocated may be a slight slip from the handicapper as i reckn he's a deal better, We shall see come the end of this race.
4.45 Nottingham
FALMASSIM
Taking his ast rce at Yarmouth into acount, looking at the thrid and fourth in the race, they have bot gone on to win, so the form of the racedoes not look too bad. This 6f trip may just be getting a bit sharp and a step up to the mile mark may be better, but for the time being lets hope Ashley Hamblett can get a better tune out of him than Jamie Spencer did lst time. A live contender at a price.

2.45 Chester - RED GALA (NAP) (should have been )
Reserves his best form when the he can hear his feet rattle and gets his optimum conditions today. Progressed through the handicap ranks last season and won a 10f Newbury handicap last April in good style, but wasn't seen again until September, but the result was the same when beating the useful Fairmile in a 10f handicap at Doncaster. The ground went against him after that and subsequently was fifth in a valuable 12f handicap at Ascot and filled the same position in a Group 3 at Newbury. Resumed career back at the latter track in a similar event last month and once again was fifth to Royal And Regal in ground that found him out and also, the yard weren't firing at the time. He now has perfect conditions, the yard are going well and this step to 13f will only serve to help him and he can score here.
3.15 Chester - HADAF (crap)
Trained by Marcus Tregoning and had a progressive profile as a juvenile and very much appreciated quick ground last season and following his maiden win at Thirsk, bolted up in a 5f Kempton Nursery. He was held up in midfield before making the decisive move a furlong out and cleared right away to score in ultra convincing fashion by 1¾ lengths. Made his reappearance at the Craven meeting in a smart looking 6f handicap in which he patently didn't stay and now back down to 5f on fast ground from stall one, will take all the beating and the yard are starting to hit form. Befortyfour is sure to be popular and he destroyed inferior opponents last time out but, despite his apparent good work at home and his Temple Stakes entry, doesn't look that well treated and has to give the selection 4lbs.
4.00 Chester - MISS BROWN TO YOU (NB)
She is a Coronation Stakes entry and is trained by Michael Bell who holds a very high opinion of this filly, but it was no surprise she needed her debut run when third to Danae in a Newmarket maiden over 7f last month. She was an unconsidered 20/1 shot that day, but now with Jamie Spencer on board, clearly much more expected of this half sister to smart duo Almaty and Impeller and despite stall eight will take all the beating. Quirina was fourth to Dar Re Mi in a backend Newmarket maiden last season, but gave the impression she would want at least a mile whilst Portodora looked a little one paced when fifth behind the selection last time out and Amylee is starting to look exposed. _________________ Nothing ventured, nothing gained.

MCCARTHUR 2.45 Chester @ 9/4
A horse that really caught my eye with some off his runs last season in particular the Voltiguer where he was beaten a lenght by subsequent ST. Leger winner Lucarno.. The soft ground together with the lack of a decent trip last time possibly found this one out in the Curragh but decent ground today and a trip off about 1M 5F should be ideal an we should see the real Mccarthur today.. This horse is by no means a Group One performer but i shouldn't think this race will take much winning because the field is made up off essentially decent handicappers and some bad group performers.. Aidan off course banging in the winners this week in Britain and Ireland so it could be worth sticking withe Ballydoyle Maestro today..
NAP SILVER PRELUDE 3.10 Lingfield @ 9/1
Very excited about this selection today as iv followed him a few times over this all-weather season.. Might not be up too getting his head in front today after a long campaign but is with a strong chance and a place will likely be on the cards id hope at a really nice price.. The fact this horse has been contesting in Listed races throughout the spring and will be receiving weight from some off the horses in the market is laughable, and if he should run up too that high potential he showed early spring now hes back on not only a decent mark, but a winnable one aswel a good should be expected.. |

Chester 13:45 Joseph Henry
Only beaten a nk by Geojimali in its last race at Don looks good today
Chester 14:45 Tempelstern (GER)
Beaten only ¾ into 3rd place last time, every chance.
Chester 16:00 Lindelaan (USA)
This nice Chestnut Filly should give Sir Michael Stoute a winner.
Chester 16:35 Stretton (IRE)
Nice horse, was uninspiring last time at Chester, better chance today |

Chester 1:45 - Extraterrestrial
Russki is on the fast upgrade coming into this but a 6lb rise in better company may finally find him out and he is taken on, Dhaular Dhar runs welll here and has an outstanding chance of retaining the race, and yard in form but Extraterrestrial was an easy victor last time out and swept past Regal Parade at Thirsk in the Hunt Cup from a more than unsatisfactory draw and looks one to side with here with a decent draw and Paul Hangan onboard again, who knows Chester well. The selection runs under a penalty today but that looks to be short of what would be needed to stop the ex-irish trained gelding, who is still well enough treated on past form and looks to have plenty more to offer as a 4 year old.
Lingfield 2:10 - Daniel Thomas
Daniel Thomas resumed this season off a winnable mark and has been very unlucky so far not to gain that elusive win this term in two recent races, and despite not winning since his maiden victory in 2004 this should be his race today. The selection was pipped by Tinnarinka on his reapearance and had to be snatched up behind DInner Date last, and off a mark of 64 he remains feasabily weighted to win such a contest today. Jill Dawson would be the obvious danger.
Lingfield 3:10 - Zowington
The entire field is well enough treated on old form, including Harru Up and Silver Prelude, but there looks to be a race in Zowington off this mark now 10lb below his highest. The selection will have needed his run last when behind Hereford Boy on unsuitable ground and a succession of excuses leave him on a very fair mark here for a yard who are in form with Ian Mongan booked to ride, a repeat of any run from June at Sandown or Salisbury off much higher marks enough to take a hand here, and
has an ideal draw to take advantage. _________________ 2008 OLBG 10 To Follow Winner (Jumps)

7:55 Aintree
Minouchka NAP
This is another horse flagged up by one of my SpeedMaster filters (this filter has a 66% strike rate over the past 60 days and is showing a ROI of 274.55%).
This looks to be the horse to beat
Was a close second to Natian recently at Kelso (Natian is another horse flagged up by the filter and is a top class hunter chaser) and followed this up with a point to point win over 3 miles on good to soft ground.
She does have some credible form over good ground so should go close today although the price will be short _________________ Good Luck With All Of Your Bets

Friday's Selections
2:00 Nottingham
Art Princess (NAP) @ 7/4
Was 2nd in a useful looking Newmarket maiden last month which has already been given a boost by the 4th Beat Seven at Windsor recently but there were a lot of other well bred types in and around. Should improve a great deal for that run and is easily the best of the horses that have already seen the racecourse. There are no obvious newcomers either to get overly excited about so this should present a very good opportunty for ART PRINCESS to get here head in front at this early stage in her career. Michael Hills is here today instead of Chester and im sure this is a big reason as to why.
1:45 Chester
Dhaular Dhar (NB) @ 4/1
Just fails to make the grade as a NAP selection due to his tendency to incur traffic problems due to his racing style but DHAULAR DHAR has this race at his mercy now down to 2lbs lower than when winning it last year. He is much happier going round a bend and especially here having won at this unique course 3 times before. Appeared as if coming to hand again last tim at Newcastle and if the gaps open for him then he will take this. Extraterrestrial is an obvious danger havng won the Thirsk Hunt cup last week in style but this is much tougher. The Nicholls pair Joseph Henry and Regal Parade also have claims but a bigger player could be Tom Tates Celtic Sultan who despite the burden of top weight is a very smart animal and could even be pattern class in time.
7:00 Ripon
Pacific Pride @ 9/2
A trappy little race but quality rather than quantity is on display here and a number of horses will be contesting favouritism close to the off. First Order is the jolly as I write this and is pretty consistent at this level on the whole. He should make the frame but remains a little bit high in the weights considering he wouldnt be quite as good as he was a couple of seasons ago. He is vulnerable and so is Blue Tomato who has failed to build on his reappearance win. Westport should do better for this drop in trip but whether he is in good enough form to actually win is debatable which can also be said for Obe Gold who has been well beaten in 2 starts this season. Paris Bell seems to like the going on the easier side so this is best left to the once very smart PACIFIC PRIDE who was acquired for a huge sum by hs current connections 2 summers ago but endured a torrid time last season failing to threaten the placings even once. His trainer though maintains that he is still a very good horse and he has been doing good things over the winter so he could finally get his career back on track today off a mark 18lbs lower than he started on last year and also encountering a drop in grade.
8:25 Aintree
Speed Up @ 14/1
A big alarm bell went off in my head when I saw that SPEED UP was running as it was one mentioned by his trainer Ferdy Murphy to me a few weeks back as a horse to follow when reappearing on fast ground in the summer. To be fair if taking away all his poor efforts on unsuitable soft ground you are left with a useful looking form profile. He was only a few lengths behind European Dream at Newcastle on one of those occasions and again only a few back from Spectait in what was a good novice event at this course in the Autumn. If judged on those two efforts alone his handicap mark of 102 looks pretty lenient and having gone well fresh in the past this could be an excellent bit of placing by his trainer. No better man than Graham Lee to get the job done from the saddle either.
Also must be with the Luca Cumani trained BAUER today as his namesake Jack is my favourite small screen character of all time But also on form he has a decent shout as the best performance of his career so far came in a listed handicap at this venue and he has had unsuitable conditions on his two tries at this level since. This is ideal today on the fast ground and over this trip and if he is good enough there should be no excuses with top perentage rider Seb Sanders taking the reins.
Good Luck All

6.15 AINTREE ZILCASH EASY
Won his first chase race at Fontwell "tracked leader , led 3 out easily " by 12 lenghts . Obviously has the scope to improve further and this is his time of the year as hes run three races in the month of May one unplaced effort on the flat but the other two races resulted in first place , Fontwell last time out but more importantly a hurdle victory HERE last year !. This is harder but unexposed as a chaser likes the course and A.King could take this one higher its possible he could be anything ! _________________ NEVER WORRY ABOUT LOSER,S THEY ONLY BRING YOU ONE CLOSER TO YOUR NEXT WINNER

Didn't have time to post Macarthur on here as was busy in the build up to the race with other things but not having another bet today (apart from laying Scuffle and Tawaash) until this one so plenty of time on my hands between now and then. My best bets run this evening but hopefully this one can get at least a place to keep an already good day going.
Amylee (4:00) Chester * ran some fine races as a juvenile without getting her head in front and although well beaten last time when runner-up on her first start as a 3yo she is entitled to come on for that. She has conditions in her favour here and at 9.60 she looks far too big, especially given that she has that recent run under her belt - an advantage she holds over quite of a few of these.
best of luck,
Deco. _________________ Racing tips in 2007 = +201.04 (LSP)

6:35 Hamilton
Van Bossed (NB) @ 3
This will very tight but im not quiet sure if its NAP material at 2/1, but i think he should be much close in price to prefect polly. Horse will like this ground and trip and yard is getting plenty use out of its in form horses like this one. _________________ Check out my Euro 2008 preview
