2.40 Wolver- Sub Prime NB 5/2
Comes back a further grade. Ran well on debut finishing a very close 2nd. Latest effort was poor when finishing 4th /5 in a class 5, then he was odds on. Back to a class 6 today, and should be way to good for these.
4.10 OGRE- NAP 12/1+---- Small gamble starting into 10's with some firms
The trainers debuts usually run very well, won a class6 latest at kempton for the osbourne yard, Can spring a suprise.
Good luck for today

Redcar 3:20 - Black Dahlia (Shocking ride from Pollard)
There are a couple of unexposed types including Shadowtime, a former inmate at the Mark Johnston yard and Mick Channon's Kayflaa but they will all do well to keep tabs on Black Dahlia whose run 18 days ago was franked by the runner-up next time out when Art Exhibition scored at Wolverhampton. The performance at Great Leighs by the selection was impressive despite the low class coming clear with the runner-up to score decisively, McCabe's runner looked well ahead of the handicapper and a 6lb rise could have underestimated the filly again as she bids to make it back to back wins, having been supported through the morning and in from an opening show of 9/2 into 5/2 favourite. Her penultimate run behind Jaser has continued to work out well, despite advertised defeats of Stevie Thunder, and the half-sister to Cold Turkey looks ready to move up through the ranks today.
Yarmouth 4:00 - Bustan
Bustan may be 9 years old and the veteran of the field here but he showed his might at andown in the jump Vs flat jockey race in which he beat Trans Siberian, who has subsequently won since, and despite not winning that often in recent years he showed he is in good heart and could be ready to add another win to his belt, off just a 1lb higher mark. The trip today looks to far for Mujjood and to short for Rapid City, while Habshan may be weighted to his best at present, Lifes A Whirl is too far out of the handicap to give a serious chance to and the likeliest danger could come from Highland Harvest, whose line of form does suggest he can get the better of the selection, but Bustan was value for a little more than his winning margin at Sandown, is well enopugh treated on old form and could run another huge race here.
Redcar 5:20 - Millie's Rock
Millie's Rock is an interesting selection today, not least because she tackles a trip that should meet her requirements on breeding, but the fact she has only raced at a mile once and two subsequent starts were over sprinting trips prior and could show a great deal of improvement now handicapping in the right direction off a mark of just 57. The selection was undisgraced in sprints behind Befortyfour and Eden Park, and the very much inform Paul Hanagan takes the ride, who boasts a 33% SR for the Wallace yard, When Yer Ready is another obvious candidate who needs a market check, now facing firmner ground over a decent trip, but Millie's Rock, a duaghter of Rock of Gibraltor could be one step ahead. _________________ 2008 OLBG 10 To Follow Winner (Jumps)

Two at unspectacular odds but hopefully a nice double!
3:30 Yarmouth
Missioner (NAP) @ 2/1
Very rarely does the Mark Johnston stable have a period when it struggles for winners, but in the mid-summer of last year he just couldnt buy a 1st place. During that period we saw MISSIONER run twice and he ran with great credit under the circumstances finishing a close third on debut only a length behind subsequent Royal Lodge winner City Leader. He then came out again shortly after and was third once more in a hot Newmarket maiden behind Latin Lad who has also gone on to perform with credit in pattern races and is rated 100. The fact that Missioner ran so well when the rest of his yard were so bad could mean there is a real tool on display here because there were plenty of winners to come out of both those maiden races. He has had a small stress fracture keeping him off the track since then but has been ready to run for a while now and this step up in trip should should bring about more improvement. Apparently the plan last year was for him to go to the sales if he didnt look like being a group horse in the making last year and the fact that he remains under the same ownership speaks bundles about his prospects and it will take a top-notcher to lower his colours today if he is at his best. Lazy Days showed plenty of promise on his sole start in a hot Newmarket maiden last year when 5th behind Fireside but needs to find something a bit extra today and the selection may have a little more to worry about from Jeremy Nosedas Royal Destination who looks the part on paper. I would be more worried if Frankie had been booked though as he is usually attracted by the potentially smart ones.
4:00 Yarmouth
Habshan (NB) @ 2/1
With Highland Harvest a non-runner this now looks there for the taking for Chris Walls HABSHAN who has won his last three when appearing for the 2nd time each season. He seems to appreciate this quicker ground and despite a career high mark to overcome at the age of 8 he is lightly raced and has improved with each season so far. That looks the case again this time round as he ran a cracker behind the potentially very classy Bankable last time. He should come on plenty for that as usual and this, despite being a Class 3 (last run was in a Class 4)is much weaker. Chris Wall has got his string in fine order at the moment and should add to his ever growing tally here. The main danger will probably come from Bustan who took advantage of his falling mark when scrambling home last time. Whether he can reproduce that is another matter though and with Mujood having reservations about this trip and Lord Theo struggling off his current mark, the selection should be able to take full advantage.
Good Luck |

4:20 Redcar
Chrystal Venture @ 5.5
A rare venture for this stable to these parts. Really got things together on the all weatherand ripon run best ignored. And back up to 7furlongs here and on quicker ground his better side could be on show. This a pretty winnable race. _________________ Check out my Euro 2008 preview

7:05 Towcester
Rydal Park
This is a horse that I have followed and again has been flagged up by one of my Speedmaster filters.
Is going for the hat trick and certainly the one to beat having previously won over C&D. Should handle the going.
This will be his toughest challenge to date as it is quite a step up in class but I think he can pull it off. _________________ Good Luck With All Of Your Bets

3.40 WOLVERHAMPTON
ADAGE 4th
Cant see any problems for this one course trip and jockey all great and three from four over todays c/d . Last two runs at Lingfield 1m5f last time "not reach leaders" beaten approx 2 lengths suggests horses general well being and at 5or6 to one would represent good place credentials as well back at the only course she has won on _________________ NEVER WORRY ABOUT LOSER,S THEY ONLY BRING YOU ONE CLOSER TO YOUR NEXT WINNER

2.40 Wolverhampton Fangfoss Girls (NAP) 3/1 won by 7l.
Won at 33/1 lto and those behind it have franked the form. Dropped in class and carries a lb less than when it won.
2.50 Redcar Danzili Bay Looks like it needed the run
Even after a long Lay-off it should be too good for these. The stable is in form and this ex Peter Chapple-Hyam horses wins have all come on Good to Firm ground.
4.50 Redcar Wiltshire
Been quite consistant for this class and as it is getting weight from it's main rivals, it could go in today. _________________ Go on ! Fill yer Boots!!!

5:00 Yarmouth-Zonergem may have a chance in this contest and have shown ability in the past and at a price may cause an upset to the favorite polish power... |

Redcar5:20 Llab Nala is my type of horse who likes to frontrun at all times...in a big field like this it might be worth siding with the front runner but ew bet or a place only bet is advised. |

I was quietly confident of a good run from Bury Treasure in the last at Windsor, and took a small stakes chance at 7/1, I caught the interview with Gay kelleway earlier and she was also confident and make this one a bet tonight, chased home Rapidity last time and that one went on to score last time, said to have improved signjificantly since and should give the favourite a big run for his money.
Killarney 8:15 - Spilletta - Small Stakes Only Tonight
Taking a chancewith Spilletta here based on run behind Almass on penultimate when having Knowing Wink in behind, and although had excuses that time, Spilletta has to be value at 9/1 in comparison to the 5/4 available on Knowing Wink. Clear of the favourite last time they met off level weights, but prices reflecting yard as Knowing Wink is 19/10 yet Spilletta 9/1. Obvious chance to both but the value has to be with Spilletta here, and Fran Berry back on board after missing last ride, but selection unsuited by the ground last time, and should find things better here. _________________ 2008 OLBG 10 To Follow Winner (Jumps)

Very poor days racing today but there are a couple I fancy tonight:
5.55 - Windsor - Kingwinsford @ 9.0 e/w
I think this is an Each Way for nothing. Ran well in its first race, winner of this ran ran a good second in its next race. Was poor NTO but I give this to the softer ground that day. Only poor point is that the 2nd horse ran a poor race nto. Good chance.
7.25 - Windsor - Red Linnet @ 13 e/w
Ran well in first two races beating highly thought of Always Bold in his second race. Ran poorly in his next run but again I give this to the softer ground on the day. Again good Each Way shouts. Up against a good horse in sleepy hollow but I just cant have him first time out as I think he needs a race under his belt first.
8.05 - Towcester - Sea Wall @ 4
Class horse of the field. First time out after a very poor run at cheltenham. Has run well on reapperance before and up against some really poor horses. Very good chance.
8.25 - Windsor - Creative @ 19.0 e/w
Topazes is definately the horse to beat. Won well in last two runs although pushed hard in his last but good jocky booking bodes well. I just feel that creative will improve for his last run I think he goes well fresh and should go on for a place. |
