Hi All

I am off to YORK races tomorrow for a training session in the morning and then an afternoon of Racing! Ha-Ha Very Happy

Would really appreciate any help in picking out any potential winners or nice juicy placers as I don't want to look like I know nothing do I? Ha-Ha Very Happy

Hope some of the sages on here can steer me in the right direction, not sure I will get to a PC tomorrow so any help today would be gratefully appreciated?

Thanking you in anticipation

Seasider of Stoute's in the 2.10 looks a very good bet Midas as he has been progressing really well apparently at home and they think he could be pattern company material. Wink Win

By the way, how do the RP rate pricewise as being in red hot form after his disgraceful season thus far and him going against Zarkava in the French 1000 and also going for a colt who was miles off Group 1 company (Georgebernardshaw) in the 2000!!?? Shocked Confused

Irresponsible posting

Posts that are likely to encourage novices to make poor decisions. For example phrases like "put your house on it", "risk free", "100% certainty" etc (unless clearly a joke)

Bigguy, just be careful how you write your posts!!!

Wish you well with your selection and hope it come in for you but beginers and newer members could misconstrue what you are trying to say, we all know there is no certainties in racing. Good luck and be careful.

Kind Regards

Have never been a follower of Pricewise myself Aidan, he seems to be still clinging on to that winning streak that he had about 3 years ago. I think he tipped Celtic Sultan at York last week who was about 9/1 so RP have once again gone over the top with praise and publicity for him.

I can understand why he takes on short-priced favourites because it is his job but he could be a bit more selective about the races he goes for, after all a winner is a winner! Taking on Zarkava was always going to be a silly thing to do as she has proved a number of times she is at a level of her own compared to the rest of the European 3yo fillies.

I suppose at least he makes a good case for each of his selections so as long as the reasoning is there we can't really grumble too much but to say he is in 'red hot form' at the moment is a little bit daft on the RP's part and isn't giving much credit to it's avid readers.

Even his die hard fans wouldn't be rushing to buy him a pint on his record recently, especially throughout the jumps season when I cannot actually remember a standout winner!

Wow, I must be in red hot form too as I tipped Celtic Sultan on Friday AND Casual Conquest on Sunday! I am surprised the RP have been in touch! Rolleyes (Sarcasm) Very Happy

It is a farce apollo and you're right, I would struggle to name you a stand out winner for him over the jumps. Mel Collier was streets ahead. Win

agreed on tom segal though..poor over the jumps(tips not running) and as you say still clinging to that good run he had a while back....although he did give henrythenavigator for the guineas after he won his first race.. Shocked

Quick observation for first race of the day

The Lady Granuaile - finished just behind slugger o toole and topazes second time out last year. Interesting considering what they have done recently. Confused

Not quite as progressive as the aforementioned horses Lose

I'm no fan of pricewise, but SAIL for the Oaks , tipped today looks to me to be a good choice. Sadly he has ruined the price and I cant get on properly now let alone at a decent price. I'm no fan!

Perhaps value was easier to come by back then but, he done a very good job of finding it and though I was only relatively young, I'll always remember him tipping Papillon for the GN.

So did I yoyo, though I must admit it was rather a throw away comment at the time and I actually backed it up after he won the Coventry, but went totally off him after his next two runs.

For me, Mel Collier's shoes are still to be filled. As yourself and apollo say, those eight straight weekends in a row with a winner have kept him in a job up until now.

Mind you, at least he isn't as bad as Pegasus. Shocked I almost fell off my bar stool the other day when I was watching the racing on Sunday in the pub, I saw the person next to me reading the News Of The World bigging up Peagsus for tipping eight winners from his last twelve tips. I asked if I could have a quick look and the SP's were, 11/1 - 4/1 and the rest were 5/4 - Evens x2 - 10/11 x2 4/5x2 and 4/6!!!! Not exactly brilliant on the value front and god knows what they did when he tipped that 11/1 winner!!! Shocked

There are some poor tipsters around and I cannot stand the ones who tip the most likeliest winner of the day. We know it has got a 80-90% chance of winning!!! Rolleyes (Sarcasm)

I did forget about Henrythenavigator actually, I suppose two big priced winners in close proximity makes up for the previous barren spell so perhaps I am being a tad harsh! Laughing

I don't really see the point to the guy anyway as a value tipster because you can never get the price quoted in the RP for one of his selections as that is snatched up by people in the know a long time before it is published. Or at least that seems to be the case on most occasions.

I may be alone here but I actually quite like the ATR tipping team, they have a number of different analysts with various angles into races and are generally pretty good. Matt Doyle is one to take note of in flat handicaps and obviously the irish wizard Dave Duggan who bangs in some nice priced winners.....
