With no rain forecast and the likelyhood of just around 5mm of watering overnight - it is possible that my fancy for this race will be withdrawn. In a field including many well exposed individuals the one that strikes me as a leading contender is Jamie Poulton's filly Lady Dedlock ; unraced as a 2yo she looked a slow maturing type in her eight starts last term - however she stepped up on those efforts with victory on the AW at Kempton last month over 2 miles and the extra couple of furlongs here shouldn't pose a problem. Raised 11 pounds for that Kempton success shouldn't see the end of her improvement and if her trainer considers the ground safe enough for her to take her chance a bet of 2 points eway is on the cards for me if she is anywhere near the Racing Post forecast of 9/1. The ease at which she won last time marked her down in my opinion as an 11/2 shot or thereabouts.... Robert Havlin keeps the ride.

Now that the thread has been started, I must say I am looking forward to the Dante though could be saying different come 2.45 as both my ante-post selections for the Derby (Centennial and Tartan Bearer) are running and if neither win then !!! Whatever the result, lets hope for an impressive winner who stamp his mark on the Derby.
As I have eluded to in my tips, think this Herring Senior is a good bet as the vibes from the Cole yard are strong, but judging from his short price, I am guessing they are for the Hannon horse Prolific too!
And The Executioner, yes you did comment on my superb NAP who has just apparently finished running! _________________ Nothing ventured, nothing gained.

| Aidan.... If you keep a notebook - put the name Seasider in it ; I think it will come on bundles for the run on Wednesday and could well make up in to a nice handicapper as the season progresses... G.L |

Couldn't agree more. I fancied him yesterday, but thought he might need the run and I was right, but it didn't look that way as they came into the final furlong. Moore wasn't too hard on him though and as you say, will definitely come on for the run. Actually going to put him in the next time out thread. Take a look, you could be of help.
It is a thread where you give a brief summery of why you thought a horse was unlucky, needed a run or basically anything that catches your eye in a race and MidasTouch and his merry men keep us updated throughout the season with a thread called HORSE ALERTS. _________________ Nothing ventured, nothing gained.

have backed centennial for the derby but really worried about Twice Over who, if he runs, looks pretty special to me. Hoping for a great race today.
Thought US Ranger was really unlucky yesterday - the draw bias appeared massive or thos eon the near side got the pace of the race all wrong.....I suspect the former. What's the betting they'll all come up the middle in the first race today???
good luck all _________________ DONT LET YOUR FAVOURITES FLIP-FLOP!

| 4.35 Salisbury ( App' H'Cap ) Have been advised to have a bit on Support Fund @ 6/1 or better by a guy that likes to play these races ; It's not normally the kind of race I would bet in - any views guys ? Spodds are currently 13/2 but the stake they would take off me wouldn't even buy a bag of crisps !! LOL |
