2.15 Gowran Park - MEDICIO (NB)
He is a son of Medician and is trained by Dermot Weld who was obviously itching for the 7f maidens to come around as this colt is bred for at least that and this is the first maiden over that particular distance. He holds a Derby entry and is a half brother to Ashbourne and Earth Wind Fire who were both debut winners at two and Weld usually does well with his younger horses here too. This maiden won't take an awful lot of winning with the likely favourite Comadoir starting to look exposed after a succession of seconds and he is likely to find one too good once again in the shape of Medicio.
3.10 Ripon - LAA RAYB (NAP)
He clearly has talent, but often spoils his chance by hanging violently or carrying his head at a awkward angle though none of these traits were on show when putting in an encouraging display when sixth in a 9f handicap at Newmarket. He won a couple of useful races last season at Sandown and Goodwood and this on this quick ground over a mile, he should have too much for his rivals if he can keep his temperament in check with Joe Fanning, who has ridden him to all his wins, back aboard. Jewelled Dagger is the danger as he thrives also on quick ground and made a promising reappearance here over 9f last week. (60 to follow horse) _________________ Nothing ventured, nothing gained. |

Should put this inside info, but not totally convinced by info, plus ya gotta be a member to read these selections. Basically lad at work knows BOTH trainer and owner, they go to his local. They've told him to back Rust en Vrede in the 1630 at market rasen. Was a point to point horse that got to class 4 standard. Now horse has been specifially trained over hurdles. and should "easily" get a place and probably win this race. Its 25s, so ive gone smallish stakes E/W! _________________ Everyone can pick a favourite, Not everyone can pick a winner! |

2:10 Ripon
Rose of Coma @ 2.25
Rioja Ruby would have been my choice to overturn the favourite over this distance, but in his absence, Rose Of Comas has suggested enough in 2 starts to finally get her head in front. draw is not ideal which is why Im having a small e/w saver on Jethro Bodine who ran a very eyecatching race in a much better event on his debut. a bit disconcerting he is dropped into a seller and mixed messages from the form, but the way he shaped at Doncaster showed that he has some ability
EW Jethro Bodine @ 6
see Rose of Coma
2:30 Market Rasen
EW Paktolos @ 2.75
not a bad flat horse and nhas shown some ability on unsuitable ground over hurdles. should find this easier than some races he has contested and if the ground stays on top he should take all the beating
2:50 Longchamp
EW Proviso SP
slightly disappointing on deep ground on her reapearance but may well have needed it. Otherwise she has very strong claims on her close up 2nd in the Fillies Mile at Ascot last year and if the ground stays easy, it should suit her perfectly
3:10 Ripon
EW Jewelled Dagger SP
although he has gone up in the weights, Jewelled Dagger showed plenty of sparkle on his reappearance and enough to show he can win again.
3:20 Longchamp
Darjina (NAP) SP
top class mare and back at Longchamp she should have little trouble disposing of this bunch
3:20 Fakenham
EW Cool Roxy @ 4.5
form figures here are enviable and is 4lb lower than when running 3rd, but in uncustomary sn@tches, behind a decent horse in The Dark Lord. This looks a bit easier and could find himself back in the winners enclosure again _________________ DONT LET YOUR FAVOURITES FLIP-FLOP!

Ripon 3:40 - Gallery Girl
The fibresand at Southwell would not have played to the advantage's of Gallery Girl and a return to faster ground over 6 furlongs could see her better light off a mark of now 2lb lower than her last winning mark. Yard have been coming into form for a while and looked to be striking, fairly matched with the favourite and should be in the mix.
Kind Regards

4.10 RIPON
GOODBYE MR BOND
Doesnt strike the eye at first but he is a c/d winner so we know he should go well here . 6 runs at this course resulting in win & 2 x 3rd,s but what is ! interseting is that the win and one of his 3rds was in MAY and his other 3rd place here was in APRIL . 3 unplaced efforts were all in latter months of the year . Now this is where it gets a little bit more interesting David Allen gets on well with this horse and from 10 rides all courses he is 2wins 3 seconds &1 third thats just over 50% in the frame but he has only partnered this horse twice in MAY and guess what 2 wins from 2 races AYR & HAMILTON you dont have to be a genius to work out those stats and although stats are only a guide i would be extremly dissapointed if the old combination didnt get in the frame at least today with a definate chance of better given horses liking for this time of the year _________________ NEVER WORRY ABOUT LOSER,S THEY ONLY BRING YOU ONE CLOSER TO YOUR NEXT WINNER |

3:20 Fakenham
Cool Roxy (NAP) @ 4/1
Cool Roxy is a Fakenham expert. Has been effective over both hurdles and fences and has won from 2m up to todays trip of 3m. The good to firm ground is of no concern having won here on fast going and the small field is the type he has always excelled in. All these factors add up to make 4/1 a nice price. He is 2lbs higher in the handicap than he has won with previously but chris honor takes the reigns and claims a handy 3lbs back. He has won 9 times round this track and placed a further three times from 16 runs.He has also won nine times and placed 10 times when returning to the track within 40 days and having run at Ascot in april in a classy event when finishing fifth just about falls into the return catergory today. Kaldouas also desevres to be shorter in the market then the 4/1 available with sporting bet, but although he will most likey give the selection the most to do, with his record here i cannot back against COOL ROXY _________________ NEW! 3.30 Market Rasen - LINDSAY (NB) - Lindsay won last time out when beating his closest competitor by 26 lengths. Goes up 2lbs in the weights but that won't bother him much but steps up in trip by 2 furlongs. Never tried at this distance before but after scoring so readily last time out the step up in trip should be no problem either. The confidence booster she will have gained from her latest win will surely only help her too. (Currently 7/2 - 1.30pm)
3.40 Ripon - ANGUS NEWZ (NAP) - Angus Newz hasn't won since October 2007 but he won't have a greater opportunity than this to beat his rivals and finally get back to the Winners Enclosure. He won this race last year and has only creeped up the weights by 2lbs sine then. Dropping class from last time out when he was a close 2nd. Comes into the race with the best form on offer and he should be able to take the spoils for this one. (Currently 11/8 - 1.30pm)
3.20 Fakenham - RED SCALLY (e/w) - Not totally sure why he is bottom of the betting ring and I am willing to take a chance on him. Red Scally is a course and distance winner. Last time he ran at the distance he's running at today he scored by 4 lengths in a Class 4 competition. Class 3 today but with him being 13lbs better off since that run and first time blinkers introduced I think he has a good chance. (Currently 12/1 - 1.30pm) _________________ All of us have bad luck and good luck. 2.10 RIPON.. STEER
A poor race and probably only £50 Grands worth of horses in the field!
I will take on Rose of Coma (likely favourite) with Mel Bittain's newcomer Steer, with the simple reasoning that he has a line through the form of the Fahey's runner with his other horse French Forest.. Cheeky Cheeky
Of the other newcomers Confused Willon Dillon and Petite Denise appear to have better breading than the rest!
2.40 RIPON..NCHIKE
Ran in the Brocklesby, a race which has already thrown up numerous winners, and he was only getting going when the race was over. Has had time since to strengthen up a little and can improve for this extra distance!
Nothing in this contest, Confused (RICHO apart, who halved in price in that race) has contested anything as strong and at 20/1 could be worth an E/W interest.
CUSTARD CREAM KID comes from a stable bang in form but should need further in time!
3.10 RIPON...ANOTHER BOTTLE
Now 15lb Shocked lower than when contesting some top H/cap's in 2006 and has dropped 8lb this year alone!
Needs genuine Good/Firm ground which he should get the for the 1st time this year and is 2lb lower than winning here in 2005.
JEWELLED DAGGER will more than likely make the running but is on an all time high mark and has yet to win in this grade.
VICIOUS WARRIOR is another course and distance winner and if the heavens open would stand a good chance!
BEST PROSPECT is most consistent but normally needs softer/longer trip.
The main contenders are MY PARIS, FREMEN and LAA RAYB and being more consistant at the trip and ground FREMEN (won here 4lb lower) is my choice for a Reverse F/Cast.....
3.40 RIPON...ANGUS NEWS
Looking likely she will win this again this year off only 1lb higher
4.10 RIPON...WIND STAR
Another who should appreciate good/fast ground but hasn't won 1st time out so will keep stakes small here! Will need to be at his very best for this return but was highly tried late last year and returns only 1lb higher than last win.
LUCAYAN DANCER is consistant at the distance and is on his lowest mark for 3 years but has a bit to find with the selection!
GOODBYE MR BOND is 1lb higher than winning this in 2006 on heavy going but seems to get outpaced on fast ground.
JUST LILLE. This is her time of year but she normally needs a run or 2 but will like fast ground.
GETRAH has won here over a mile/heavy going to think he has the stamina for this longer trip and is at the right end of the weights and could go well if he stays!
WIND STAR to win with GOODBYE MR BOND for the F/Cast
4.40 RIPON...HERRERA
A high draw normally the place to be here so I will take this one for the placepot/JACKPOT Laughing Laughing
Watch for a market move on WHIPMA WHOP MAGATE as David Allen has a 100% strike rate when riding for D. Caroll this season

2.40 Ripon Dispol Mulofky (NAP)
Looks to have struggled to win over 5f, staying on in all three starts. Will like the extra furlong and the drop in class. Its experience could prove decisive especially at the finish. _________________ Go on ! Fill yer Boots!!!

Thanx WISH for your PM,
Just a quick note on the 3.10.
In my tips in the tipping comp you will notice a tip for LAA RAYB.
I have made a mistake, it should be JEWELLED DAGGER, Too late to do anything about it now,but just in case anyone follows my tips in the comp, thought it best i mention it before that race goes off.
Of course i could be wrong and inadvertantly tipped the winner, but my honesty wont allow me to let it ride.. _________________ NEW! Course Guides!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! - Click here
