|
|
After hard luck stories and getting chinned on the line over the weekend, lets hope this week of cracking action is a little kinder!
7.00 Windsor - NASRI (NAP)
Usually a nice little maiden and one Brian Meehan has had success in and won this last year for the owners of this colt with Sharp Nephew who went on to win the Washington Singer Stakes. This son of Kyllachy will be perceived by many to be the yards second string, but when you consider Seb Sanders, who rides stablemate Impressionist Art, has barely ridden for the yard, then perhaps it is not the case. The selection is a colt by the pacy Kyllachy out of a mare who has produced two decent sorts in Ellmau (a debut winner at two) and Laureldean Gale (third on debut at two) and this colt should be sharp enough to make a winning debut under the talented William Buick. Desert Icon sets the standard on what we have seen so far, but I feel he'll get 7/8f this season and could again find it happening all to quickly while Ruasgreyasme deserves respect from the Hannon yard as she is the selected of three stable participants and is held in high regard. Impressionist Art is nicely bred and is a half sister to smart duo Lady Acquitaine and Secret Garden, but is probably one for the future and Whisky Jack from the Willie Muir yard shouldn't be discounted at a price, though will benefit from this evenings experience.
8.00 Windsor - CLOSERTOBELIEVING (NB)
Has made steady progress this season and after showing promise in his three maiden runs, looked well treated for his handicap debut here over a mile here, but had an absolute nightmare and was blocked off when going for a run and allowed to coast home. Made amends when stepped up to 10f last time over course and distance when coming away from his rivals nicely after hitting bit of a flat spot a couple of furlongs out. He is the type to progress with his racing and could well run up a sequence as he still looks on a fair mark and though the hat trick seeking Dear Maurice will provide some stern opposition, that rival has to give the selection 18lbs here. Also, the selection has won over course and distance, whereas Dear Maurice has been doing his winning over a mile and though he is bred to stay further, he could find it too much giving weight over this trip to Closertobelieving. _________________ Nothing ventured, nothing gained. |

My selections are
Starting off at Brighton
2.30 Like for like
3.00 Game Lady
3.30 Ornalla
4.00 Astrodome
4.30 Arabian Art
Mussel
2.15 HighlandWarrior (loves the rain!)
2.45 Gordonsville
Good luck chaps
[In future please try and add reasoning, to make a list of selections is worthless and can be done via the Tipster Comp or a betting blog. Thanks. Below moved here from chat thead.]
FOUNTAINS ABBEY 8.30 Windsor
Sir Michael Stoute jockey Ryan L Moore team up. They won this race last year and in my eyes are likely to do the same again. Fountain Abbey will take some horse to beat it.
Ground reports are ood with 7mm rain yesterday and overnight |

6.40 - ROSCOMMON - RED MOLONEY NAP
This is from the same guy that gave me Shimah just over a week ago. This horse is strongly fancied to win this evening. He has some contacts with the yard and should have more information before I go home at 5.00.
Word back from connections is very positive.

My Lay of the day today is Brighton 2.30 Like for Like. Lost
Small fields in races can be strange races, and i think like for like might struggle with the ground if the rains come.
I also like the fact that sir Mark Prescott and Mick Channon have a runner in the four, and its Wohaida i think will turn over the favourite today if the ground as expected eases more.
Other lays of the day are Musselburgh 3.15 Forrest Star and 2.15 Highland Warrior if he fails to come out of the stalls again!
Highland Warrior won by a neck
Forrest Star lost

| CLEVELAND (no odds found) This looks a two horse race albeit a very poor one. The favourite Game Lady won well at Windsor last time and could easily follow up. But 5/1 or 6/1 for Cleveland he looks a bit of value and with still 8 runners in the race it should make the frame. I know it is mainily an all weather runner these days but there was a bit of money for the horse last time and he looks the value. |

MUSSELBURGH 3.45... BLAZING HEIGHTS (NAP) @ 11/2
Blazing Heights is back on a winable mark right now and has decent course form. Comes out best at the weights with many of these than when running here on good/soft going last September from the same draw, with his nearest persuer that day at least 2 & 1/2 lengths behind him.
He carries big weights well and won't mind any more rain today.
Handsome cross ran well for the Duffield yard first time back, but has a bit to find with the selction and appears to prefer faster going.
Sandwith is the closest matched on ratings but is another who prefers faster.
Blazing Heights stablemate, Rothesay Dancer is another who handles most conditions and could be the one for the F/Cast!
