Plenty of racing on the menu, but once again not great quality as far as I can see so just going to stick with the one again.
7.10 Sandown - COMBAT ZONE (NAP)
Was reported to be doing some very nice work ahead of the usually informative Strutt & Parker Maiden Stakes at Newmarket (July) earlier in the month and attracted morning support. However, the rain fell all day and come the race, he had drifted in the betting and under a considerate ride he was not knocked about back in sixth and probably could have finished closer if he'd been asked to. The form is already working out with the third placed Whispering Angel a winner since and this seasons renewal looked well up to scratch despite the desperate conditions in which it was run. He is sure to improve on that effort and Saeed Bin Suroor's juveniles have all needed the run this season and also, the ground here will be much more suitable and should be able to show his abilities in a more truer light. Granski ran a respectable race over course and distance month behind Zacinto, while the well bred newcomers Cry Of Freedom (who has been showing up well at home) and Sabi Star, a Green Desert half brother to the useful Galactic Star and out of a Coronation Stakes winner, all appeal on paper, but will have to be useful to get the better of the selection who is potentially very smart. _________________ Nothing ventured, nothing gained.

My tipping has been a load of old guff recently - so here's hoping for a change of fortune......
3:50 Catterick
EW Pride of Kings SP 6/1
significantly better effort when stepped up in trip last time. Not a world beater but could well start improving now for stable that has come right back to form
mightywhitewash - good luck with your tip, but just a little word of advice - you may want to put some rationale for your selection otherwise a moderator might remove it. _________________ DONT LET YOUR FAVOURITES FLIP-FLOP!

Morning all. Holidays start today and I'm up early waiting for the SKY man to fix my box...erm...as it were!
FORTUNE CITY (no odds found) 14:00 Lingfield 11/2 NAP
A godolphin horse always sparks a bit of interest, and that interest gets a bit bigger when frankie rides. Ok it only ran into 6th for it's first run but that was on soft ground and a furlong shorter. Better ground and the extra distance plus the experience of last time and frankie puts this one in with a chance. Coin of the relm's LTO 2nd was in a poor looking race and he's looking exposed. Dazzling Light is the danger. I'm happy to chance Fortune City at more attractive odds. This is also the only horse Frankie rides at lingfield today (now replaced by R Mullen )and the only horse godolphin are sending. Tip?
REGAL ROYALE (no odds found) 16:30 Lingfield 9/2 NB
I'm going to stick with Regal Royale to win again today and complete the hatrick off a 4lb higher mark than lto. Vintage looks to be a danger who ran 1/2 a length 2nd LTO to the now 88 rated Whiskey Junction. That was in a class 4, so the drop in grade today will help. Rev forecast might pay off here?
INDIAN PIPE DREAM (no odds found) 14:40 Worcester 4/7
Will be very short come the off, but it won so impressively LTO that a slight drop in trip won't be a worry and there's nothing here that looks like it'll get close.
MUTUAL FRIEND (no odds found) 15:10 Worcester 9/4
Another that won't be a massive price, but it's form is impressive (42-412). Ran a good 2nd LTO and it has been dropped a few pounds for that. Could be a quick double for the Pipe team.
VIBE (no odds found) 16:10 Worcester 4/1
I like the chances of this one winning today. It's been in good form so far (3242) and was 2nd LTO to improver Yellow Flag who as since won twice in higher grades and has gone up to a rating of 95 (and runs again on the 24th off a double penalty). That form therefore looks very solid. Mount Usher is a danger winning LTO but it was staying on that day and a drop back in trip and a penalty won't help it's bid to follow up.
Well that will probably do for me today. Good luck all

8.00 NAAS- MASTEROFTHEHORSE 11/10
Trained by Obrien and ridden by murtagh, makes debut & holds a derby entry, sired by sadlers wells, murtah has chosen this ahead of golden sword. Should be interesting.
**Just seen he's odds on, quite suprised about that.
8.25 Leicester- DESERT CHILL 7/1
destroyed a class 5 field over 1 mile at brighton, winning by 8l. Up to a class 4 which shouldnt be any trouble but does go down to 7f. pedigree suggests the trip should be ok though _________________ There is just as much horse sense as ever, but the horses have most of it.

HI moolarman and welcome to the OLBG forum. On the Selections thread we need a little write up (or a big write up) on why you fancy a particular horse. It dosent need to be War and Peace but just some reasoning so your fellow members can understand why you fancy the horse. |

I fancy Burning Flute 6.45 Leicester
This horse is running in a class 4 race after running a bad race at Ascot last time out (17/6/08), previous race at Bath suggests that this horse is more than capable of winning over a 5F race & with Spencer on board it will be hard to beat.
The only opposition in my opinion is Common Diva.
Hope you enjoy my small write up.

Now that keen moment is a non-runner i really fancy Debby's boy NAP to do the business in the 2.50 at Catterick- 2nd on last 2 starts i feel he will improve today and take this race as rivals have no good form.
Also Star of Germany i feel is a brilliant Each Way bet at 6-1 for 4.40 Worcester, too big a price for this horse. went off at 8-1

After all the favourites went in yesterday at Bangor, I hope the trend continues today, and the punters benefit and not the bookies for once.
Worcester 2.40 Indian Pipe Dream
Won well last time out can not see why the trend continues, short price but makes the Lucky 15 up.
Won like a odds on should
Catterick 3.20 Princess Ellis
Great draw for a front runner, will not get caught, ran really well in a listed race at Ayr two runs back and the winner went in again on Monday, form looking good.
Never got to the front, which was surprising, I was wondering if the trouble in the other stall had put her off, trying to find excuses
Catterick 3.50 Rapid Release
Mark Prescott cleaning up again with horses that can win several times on the bounce. This is declared to run in several races over the coming period and also entered in the Derby. Top weights in Nursery's look interesting. Looks the strong selection here.
Worcester 4.10 Mount Usher
Won well at Perth and having penalty should not hinder the top weight. Has the speed and ground in his favour for the two mile course.
Good luck everyone, hope we are collecting at 4.30 for the evenning raceing.
did not have much joy today look forward to a rewarding Thursday.

fancy a few at Lingfield today:
2.00-Fortune City
Dettori Comes for the one ride, gets an ideal extra furlong here and can get up with a better jockey doing the steering. EDIT: Richard Mullen on board.
2.30-Suite Francaise
Mark Prescott and handicaps go together like cheese and crackers, given its been off for a year, will be spot on, can exploit a low mark and interesting to see it entered at the weekend. we know whats going to happen!
3.30-Zebrano
unlucky last time when pipped, this a good horse who can win a race like this. Will lead from the front and nothing will get near it, no mistakes this time. Munro knows what he has to do!
Good Luck All
