Got a busy day tomorrow so gotta get my selections up nice and early.
3.50 Southwell: ESPRIT DE MIDAS (NAP)
Danger: Harlech Castle
Esprit De Midas has won three from five starts here at Southwell and although he disappointed when last here when he finished sixth of six he has dropped down in class since that run, last time out he finished seventh of thirteen but was only two and half lengths behind the winner so not disgraced. He goes off a 1lb lower mark than his last two starts and coming to a course he seems to enjoy running at he has a very good chance of picking up the win. His yard is in ok form and is not strangers to winners here at Southwell. Another interesting fact about this runner is he has won all three previous starts when running in February so not only does he like this course he also seems to enjoy running at this time of the year.
4.00 Market Rasen: WE'RE CONFUSED
Danger: Fifth Column
Here we have a Hunters Chase and I really like the look of We're Confused who is forecasted at 12/1 with ATR. Looking at his form there is not a lot to get excited about, he has been well beaten is all of his races but his run at Leicester was his best to date when he finished third and eleven lengths behind the winner Oopsmylord, who on his last run put in a decent effort in the Class 2 Pointtopoint.co.uk Champion Novices' Hunters' Chase, he finished fifth but not far behind the winner. For me that’s a good indication and this field for me is weak and I believe he will be in the mix and could even land this event.
Good Luck Guys |

13.30 Market Rasen - Blue Nymph @ SP no price found at time of writing - hoping for around 3/1 but will probs be much less )
Blue Nymph perfomed well on the AW scene and transferred that form nicely to hurdling when winning on his debut last time out beating the useful Barwell Bridge. This is a drop down in class and so cant see much else other than a follow up win. Just hope that this race hasn't come too soon for him.
14.25 Fairyhouse (Ire) - Arvika Ligeonniere @ SP (no price found should be about 11/8
Won here last time out and should love the heavy ground that is anticipated over in Ireland. Better opposition in this race than last time but with ridiculously talented Ruby on board and irish champion trainer Willie Mullins he is in good hands
14.30 Market Rasen - Over Sixty @ 2/9
I may have had my fingers slightly burnt with my last short priced favourite and part of me thinks if its even worth tipping this up but at then end of the day a winner is a winner and Over Sixty should win at a canter especially with the King stable in such good form at the moment.
14.40 Sedgefield - Tilt @ SP
I am going to tentatively add TILT to the tips altho i feel he may be no value and be alot shorter than i think he should be especially after the blunders he shown at Catterick and Doncaster in his last two races. Giving 7lb away as well so im not filled with piles of confidence but just the lack of competition he faces makes me think he should win. Really does need to win this one though as he is much better than his rivals. |

Mac Aeda Maket Rasen 4.30 11/4 - Stable does well with its bumper horses, one run one win. Will expect to see this improve and win what looks on paper a weak bumper.
Bygones or Brid (NAP) 5/2 Market Rasen 2.00 - Great form illustrates a horse just short of top class, but more than capable in a race of this nature. Timmy murphy on board and has already won on him and has a style that suits this horse down to the ground.Maximum bet for me.
Best of Luck Folks!! |

Dubai Dynamo - 3:50 Southwell (NAP)
I think Dubai Dynamo represents great value in this 6f handicap at Southwell. Dubai Dyanmo makes his first appearence for his new stable today, and although the stable aren't in the best form this could be a decent all weather horse. Won a decent handicap on his first a/w run beating the useful Tartan Gigha by just over a length, but failed to follow up when entered in a few races that might have been out of the selection's league. The drop back in trip is sure to suit as this horse has won at this distance and the new stable clearly think the step back is needed. I have priced up the race and as I rate this horse a 6/1 shot, I find the 20+ on offer to be remarkable value. I also think fellow outsider Tawzeea is worth a look in on his first a/w start but in truth he'll probably need the run. |

SOUTHWELL 1.50
KEY PARTNERS
Betfair 22
In what looks a moderate race on a moderate days racing at Southwell, it might pay to keep a market watch on the Roger Curtis trained Key Partners.
Curtis has a good record at Southwell and is cabable of producing one first time out.
This one has course win & placed form, won a seller here over 12f, in April 08.
The selection has been off the track for almost 600 days, so fitness has to be taken on trust.
He is full brother to Profits Reality, another who runs well at Southwell, ( he won here in December, after 5 months layoff )
Also is a half brother to yesterdays's shock 40-1 winner, Saviour Sand ( who was winning after 9 months layoff ). _________________

Not a day to get overly excited about today, and we start with a tentative choice for the opener at 1.30 Market Rasen. Nicky Henderson has one of his debutants, who is likely to be short enough in the market and offering little value, so looking at something else with some form in the book, leads us straight to BLUE NYMPH who got better and better the further he went on the flat for Ralph Becket. One flat outing to blow away the cobwebs for his current yard and then onto his hurdle debut he scored at the first tiome of asking at the end of last month. no doubt there is yet more to come and this could be made to look easy today.
in the 3.00 Market Rasen - TAKE IT THERE is given a spin out over hurdles when she is far more used to taking on the fences on the course. in fact a record of placing on all trhee attempts over the chase course including two wins shows she has a liking for it. Interesting then she has been dropped into this hurdle event. She didnt make much of one in her early career and has certainly turned out a much better fencer. She looked in good order last time out and is taken to go well back over the smaller obstacles.
LOVE IN THE SAND is a potential dodge pot in the 3.20 Southwell. This johnstone representative is going to be very short. Betfair down at time of writing, but i expect a shade of odds on. After 153 days off the track the question will all be about fitness, but he has produced some crackers in recent weeks which have been laid up for similar time frames. The remaining five in the field have a lot of questions to answer between them, so we could be looking at the answer in the favourite. I wouldnt want to bet if its too short though _________________ There are only 2 things in life that NEED to be read. The Formbook, and the one for the flat as well |

Here are a few of my selections for todays racing in Pau (France).
14.40 Pau (13.40 GMT) NEFERTAR (NAP)
This is a cross-country race. This horse is absolutely awesome. He fell last time out but was on a four race winning streak before that beating all his rivals very easily on course and distance. Nefertar has only fallen twice in twelve races so he doesn't really have a habit of it. If this horse stays on his four legs than I can't see him beat. I think his odds should be around evens.
15.55 Pau (14.55 GMT) HOT CHILI PEPER
This horse trained by Jean-Pierre Totain won over course and distance last time out and beat the horse that should be favourite today by 3 lenghs and it could have been by much more had his jockey kept pushing him. Even with the penalty I really can't see Casares (today's favourite) beating him today. I expect odds of about 4/1.
16.55 Pau (15.55 GMT) SHAKTAR (NB)
After an encouraging debut Shaktar has finished second in his last two starts, always beaten by the same horse. Luckily for him that horse won't be running today. The only other horses able to beat him in my opinion were well beaten by Shaktar in the last two starts and he has a great oppurtunity to win his first race today.

Guys i know its short but it does look the best bet of the day!!!
NICONAR 3.55 Fairyhouse @ 6/5 Ladbrokes NAP
I had high hopes for this one at the start of this campaign and thought he could be a potential RSA horse come Cheltenham however things haven't quiet worked out for him this season in his three chase starts so far.. Although he hasn't got his head in front he has ran three fine races in defeat this season and his latest second to An Cathoir Mor probably didn't look spectacular form on the day at Fairyhouse a couple of weeks ago but An Cathoir Mor reappeared a week later with an impressive performance when beating Sports Line in the Irish Arkle at Grade 1 level, as well as having good placed form behind the likes of Captain Cee Bee and Zaarito in his previous starts in beginners chases.. The main danger would have to be Kempes and in truth it really does look a two horse race.. Kempes is another that big things were expected of this season and although he has aswell placed in his two beginners chases this season, its questionable as to the quality that he is getting beat by, whereas the selection has been running in some of the better beginner chases so far.. For me Kempes should of won last time out in what looked a penalty kick.. The Mullins horses are running better albeit but i still cant have it on my mind.. Noel Meade could have a very good day today with some good runners in both maiden hurdles and a nice bumper horse to finish the day off.. He had a nice winner of a good novice chase at Naas on Saturday so the stable remain in good form close to Cheltenham which is a good sign as its not often the case in recent seasons! |

Restezen D'armour - 3.00 Market Rasen
I have been watching this one for a while now and noticed remarkable improvement LTO when finishing 3rd at 100/1.
It's jumping has improved considerably and it does not mind the mud.
If Restezen D'armour can improve for that run it wont be far away today.
I am also interested in a quirky horse called Qbuster in the same race which is available at 20/1
Restezen D'armour 9/1 Generally (Each Way)
Qbuster 20/1 Bet365 (Each Way) |

425 COLLS CORNER NAP
There is not much between Seabass , Got the Urge and my selection but i feel the 7lb claim from the decent young jockey could make the difference in these conditions.
My selection ran a very good second too The Flying Dustman (who won the other day by 8ls) two starts ago. He stayed on well but just didnt have the toe to keep up after the last fence was bypassed.
He then ran a well handicapped horse close when stepped up in trip, he didnt help his cause with a couple of bad jumps down the back straight that cost him valuable ground in the conditions.
Given a better round of jumping and the decent claimer on his back today he could go very well |

Ledgeleeds, looks interesting.
There's another in the race I think might have an Each Way shout, from a small trainer in Worcs.
Market Rasen 3.0
PINGARO DE LA VIRE ( Each Way )
@ 40-1 with Bet365
Ex French, ran a few times on the AW & hurdles, showed a little form.
First run over here in Hunter Chase, given too much to do, stayed on to finish 4th. Then ran in 3 chase's at Ascot, Hereford & Newbury.
Never jumped well, in the hereford race he was tackling 140 rated chasers on just about level weights.
On latest run at Ascot was well held in 3rd when fell at the last.
Back over hurdles today and might run well at good price.
Trainer has had 2 runners lately with 1 winner. _________________
