Has anyone heard about this idea before ???

Looks like an interesting plan and if everyone signed up we could all choose the same debt ridden club and change its name to OLBG rovers.

(Just want to add that I am no way linked with it, just thought I,d share it)

you've been looking on the bbc sport website or listening to chris moyles haven't you?!

they spent ages talking about that!

top voted club so far, I know Leeds are going Down hill but selling up to 50,000 people for 1.4million! with little chance of getting any extra fuding from them.

i think if they want to do it they would need take on a a conference on second division side at best!

as they said on the radio, sounds like a great idea for a scam whooever's set it up!

Thats right I got it from the BBC site and I,ve got to agree I don't think it would be the right thing for Leeds.

The scam idea crossed my mind but they only ask for cash if they are successful in agreeing a deal with the club. There no way anyones getting their hands on any of my betting funds unless I get my own private seat Smile !!!

I've noted my interest on the site and the guy thats has come up with the idea says he's researched for a couple of years now but for me the site is very basic and it doesn't go into too much detail of what is actually going to happen.

I did the same K.K. It seems the whole thing would only work if they could prove where your cash was going, like a share certificate of some kind that legally said you own 1% of the club. Not just abit of fonted paper signed by the guy who set the whole thing up Smile

Hi Guys,

I think I may leave this one up to the OLBG Millionaires, Kan Keano Onead, The Shark, Ipoh Shark and of course BetfairAlfie and Ant.

I do worry that Jeremiah Cattskill will buy out Arsenal and then we'll have a league on our hands.

I've had a bad month, I couldn't even afford Scunthorpe United Jnrs.

28,000 members and climbing. And an ex-Football director on board as adviser.

Good spot K.K I,d forgotten about this, really hope they pull it off. Think I,d prefer if they went for a smaller non-league club.

Imagine the scouting system that 50,000 fans would create !!!

just saw this page.........www.myfootballclub.co.uk/latestnews.php

An email from them today..........

Thank you for registering with MyFootballClub and being among the first 40,000. Please continue to ask your friends to join, so we can reach 50,000 sooner and embark on the process of buying a football club.

A CRYSTAL FOOTBALL

How long will the takeover process take? It's safer not to speculate, however, you will be kept up to date with news and be able to discuss progress with other MyFootballClub members on the member-only forums which will be added as soon as membership fees are requested. Your membership will run for a further 12 months from the day the football club is bought - the day from which you, and other members, will begin to steer the course of the club.

DEAL STRUCK WITH PAYPAL

As requested by many of those registered, membership fees will be paid via PayPal, which is a secure and easy online payment method. Despite the website having no trading history, we have managed to negotiate the best possible transaction rate from PayPal - one enjoyed by their largest traders.

This means that more money will be available for purchasing the club, and then for player transfers. Another advantage with PayPal is that you don't need a PayPal account - you can also pay with a Debit or Credit Card.

WELCOME SUPPORT

You may have read that sports games brand EA SPORTS™ is supporting MyFootballClub by committing a considerable sum to the club Purchase Fund. 100% of this money will be put in the Purchase Fund for buying the club. To protect our negotiating position with the target club, the amount will be revealed to members after the takeover.

This support lends considerable credibility to MyFootballClub, especially in the eyes of the target football club. To further enhance our chances of a successful takeover, other suitable offers may also be considered. However, from the day the football club is bought, you and other members will decide whether to accept or decline such offers. There's an FAQ about brand support here.

It should also be emphasised that a brand supporter will have no say in how the club is run. And nor have we pre-agreed that any company will be sponsoring the club shirt. This will be a decision for members soon after takeover.

SIGN THEM UP

Please forward this email to friends with whom you'd like to share the MyFootballClub experience. We need to reach and surpass our 50,000 target to make sure our Purchase Fund is big enough to buy a football club.

You will receive an email requesting your £35 membership fee in the coming weeks.

Thank you

The MyFootballClub Team

Media reaction

"Buying a football team used to be a rich man's game. Not any more."

"The sense that £35 a year effectively buys you the right to behave like a football god is an attractive proposition."

"Enthusiasm for a soccer team owned and managed by common fans can be seen as something of a backlash against mega-owners who are buying into the sport as an investment, not a passion."

"Welcome to a magnificently chaotic pure democracy"

"Attendences should shoot up as members turn up to follow a team that is, literally, theirs."

"MyFootballClub members will have a vote on transfers, player selection and all major decisions affecting the club."
