Outstanding double Century

Just thought i'd comment on this outstanding Innings currently in play from one of the Indian batsman in the game against South Africa, all be it on a very easy batting track that saw SA get 540.

Sehwag is currently on 229 off of just 211 balls.

An amazing strike rate of 108 for that score in a test match is quite unbeliveable!

i'm not full of stats when it comes to cricket but that must be one of the quickest if not the quickest double century going!

Ok Cricinfo unsuprisingly gave me the answer to the quicket double hundred in their commentary. Record is 153 balls by Nathan Astle followed by Sehwag himself with 182. This double hundred was done in 194 balls.

On the flip side his partner Dravid has been scoring incredibly slowly, until recently he was on less than 20SR he's now on 25SR with just 19 from 76 balls!

not enough liquidity to give out odds year really but an interesting one if it gets enough interest from people.

I fancy him doing it, the pitch still isn't doing much and unless it majorly changes on day 4 then he's got every chance of doing it.

to be hitting at such a rate for so long requires amazing concentration and stamina especially in the heat they're playing in. He's hit a massive 41 4's and 5 6's clocking 194 runs from boundry's!

he'll either be out first ball in the morning or crack on and do it.. bowlers will be weary and fed-up... terrific pitch...india need to bat on to get 700 plus so if ever there was a chance this is it

sehwag is one of those players that when he gets his eye in, and is on-song.. his timing is incredible and he is as destructive as they come

if your a batter maybe, an awful test match pitch because there's so little in it for the bowlers and so little chance of a result from the outset.

those are the games that kill test cricket..result pitches are more common these days though thankfully

Well shame he couldn't get there guys, the stage was set. He tried to accelerate further and managed to get caught in the slips. I feel sorry for him, but still, very decent and the fastest Triple century.

I also feel sorry for Sachin, who waited for almost 2 days, only to get out quickly. Poor lad

The game however is heading to a draw, unless there is a miracle!
