England World Cup Squad Announcement Date Decided And Odds Suggest Cole, Downing And Young Will Miss Out
Wednesday 03 March 2010 at 15:10
England World Cup SquadThe England World Cup Squad Announcement Date has been confirmed by the FA as the 1st June 2010. This is when Fabio Capello will decide the 23 players who will represent England at the World Cup 2010 and hopefully justify the England World Cup Odds.

Top Players Set To Miss Out On World Cup Squad

The bookies are offering odds on who will make the England World Cup Squad and as you would expect, players like John Terry and Wayne Rooney are certain to be there, you can get odds of 1/25 and 1/100 respectively with Ladbrokes on them making the squad. It is the odds on the fringe players that make more interesting reading and it looks as though some top players could miss out. Under Steve McClaren Joe Cole was probably England’s best player yet he is the 25th man with the bookies and is rated 13/8 with 888Sport to be on the plane to South Africa. Stewart Downing and Ashley Young could also miss out, they are 9/4 with SkyBet and 5/1 with Ladbrokes respectively to be in the England World Cup Squad.

Odds Suggest England’s Three Goalkeepers Have Been Decided

England’s goalkeeping situation has been talked about a lot and it seems the three England keepers in the squad for the Egypt game are set to go, Robert Green is most likely at 1/10 with Bet365, who offer up to £200 in free bets to new customers, whilst David James is 1/6 with Bet365. Joe Hart should snatch the final place at 4/11 with SkyBet whilst Ben Foster is 9/2 with Bet365 and Paul Robinson is 6/1 with Ladbrokes. Ashley Cole will go if fit as England’s first choice left back but Wayne Bridge is now 6/1 with SkyBet to go having ruled himself out of the squad. Back up options include Joleon Lescott who is set to make the squad at 1/4 with Ladbrokes whilst Leighton Baines is 7/4 with Ladbrokes and Stephen Warnock is also 7/4 with Ladbrokes.
