The latest Oscars 2010 Betting Odds suggest James Cameron is likely to miss out on the Oscars Best Director but that will be made up for by a victory in the Best Picture category.
Kathryn Bigelow Expected To Beat James Cameron To Best Director Award
Kathryn Bigelow is now an odds on favourite to win the Oscar for Best Directory for her film The Hurt Locker, an extremely good war movie, and if you want to back Bigelow you can currently get 8/13 with Ladbrokes after this week’s Oscars nominations. James Cameron is still in the hunt for Best Director, he is the second favourite at 6/4 with Bet365 and SkyBet, having already picked up the corresponding award at the Golden Globes. Quentin Tarantino is next best for Inglourious Basterds but he is way off the pace at 25/1 with Sportingbet, ahead of fellow Best Director nominees Jason Reitman who is 18/1 with Bet365 and complete outsider Lee Daniels at 66/1 with Betfred.
James Cameron Almost Certain To Pick Up Best Picture Oscar For Avatar
If James Cameron misses out on Best Director then compensation awaits in the Best picture category, his film Avatar is just 4/6 with Bet365, who offer up to £200 in free bets to new customers. Next best unsurprisingly is Kathryn Bigelow’s The Hurt Locker at 6/4 with Blue Square and William Hill. This year there are ten nominations for Best picture as opposed to the usual five, other contenders include Inglourious Basterds and Up In The Air, both 22/1 with Bet365, as well as Precious which is 50/1 with Bet365. The least likely of the nominees is District 9, that is 150/1 with Betfred.
